Reviews for The Silence

Your other stories are enchanting, despite the occasional violence, but this is better by leauges.  This is real.  This is visceral.  This...this I understand and can relate to.  My only question to you, should you consider adding/editing, is "what makes you think the boys wouldn't also be raped?"  Keep in mind that rape isn't about the sex.  It's about power and degradation and will, or rather the breaking of will.  There's no reason those boys wouldn't be undergoing similar ministrations to the girls'.  Just a suggestion.

    Cheers!

    Carolyn

The name really says a lot about it. I really want to see what happens next. Great story.

No one portrays Ron with dark brown eyes, and she seems to think he's un-captured as of yet. Not Snape, given the youth of the guy. I'd guess Zabini, since people sometimes portray him in a nice way. Neville is usually seen as being fair-coloured, and no one's interested in the Creeveys (sp?). I guess it could be Dean Thomas. Seamus usually has a trace of accent.

Just read the first chapter and the part with Cindy creeped me out the most. Her happy chatter and her death after her failure to obtain information. I think you found a good balance between acknowledge Hermione's assorted sufferings and not harping over each detail and bludgeoning her suffering into our heads.

Wow! Very intense introduction. Many times stories that begin this way leave the reader dissatisfied but not so here. I loved the deliberation behind every segment of Hermione's captivity. The sense of importance behind what you are telling us anchors us to Hermione's story. We're standing in the mud and rain with her yearning for all the myriad things that she can't afford to name. I look forward to more - hopefully much more!

I am now going to be going through all the guys in canon with brown eyes ;)
