Reviews for Harry Potter and the Energumen of the Elchee

I think your story summary could use some work.  As it is not, in fact, a story summary and gives me no idea what your story is supposed to be about.

I must say, I hope you're not going to do as too many fanfic authors do, and make the Weasleys into complete prats, even to making them Harry's enemies.  I don't mind a friendlier Draco (even if for the wrong reasons) but I should miss Ron greatly, especially since I'd say his tactical acumen has an even greater chance of being valuable in this setting where physical combat and warfare are more common.

I'm laughing at Hermione because even though she's surrounded by people that can't understand her, she's still trying to boss them around. With far less favorable results. I suspect this might have an effect on her personality. But then again, I would imagine the Magicals will have a solution for all these various languages. I'm sort of shocked that the Magicals are treating those with Hermione so shabbily. Seriously, leaving them naked and bound with a Hex in the hold of a ship without even a smidgen of an explanation? LOL, it's sort of funny in a not-so-funny way.

Kudos for sticking with canon and the utter lack of preparation or knowledge for Harry considering how important he is and how vulnerable to exploitation and "bonding" due to that lack he is. Wouldn't it be funny if all of DD's plans went down the drain because Harry agreed to an enemies "offer" before arriving at Hogwarts?

I think I enjoyed the introduction more than the first chapter. The ideas you have presented and the ambition to create a story that includes them is just brilliant. I just can't wait to see what you come up with. The idea that the non-magical world that is depicted in canon is the same as RL is ludicrous now that you have pointed it out. If Magic were real, there must be significant differences in the evolution of society because of it. Not least being that conversion to various religions that call for the death of witches probably wouldn't be very widespread.

Well this is a breath of fresh air! I love the premise, it makes a ton of sense, and yet it's still Harry Potter, or at least a version of it. The sex scene was well done, and the rest brilliant! Keep up the excellent work!

Good story but I don't think us Shetlanders would ever let him be our duke! We don't even have a duke!   And btw is pretty far from Shetland to mailland Scotland! I live in Shetlanda and I make the trip by boat every year! It is a14 hour boat ride! I've been on the boat one time and we were stuck on it for 23 hours because the weather was so bad! Nobody  has ever been on the boat and it has been calm! Great story though!!

You've set out an ambitious task for yourself and the first two chapters suggest it will be a fun ride to follow. Don't dig a hole and hide; just keep writing.

I am somewhat intrigued by your beginning  but I am worried that changing so much will change the very essence of who Harry is.  I can't wait to see where you go with this  next.
