Thanks for the, as I said, 'civil discourse'. The story to which you refer was actually somewhat of a 'stealth parody', inspired by a site I found a long long time ago in the bowels of the internet, one seemingly devoted to the rather ludicrous hentai convention of girls or women being raped and seemingly being no worse for wear afterwards. Obviously, that does not happen, even in a best-case scenario. Rape is the penultimate violation of self, and I personally feel that rapists should be executed by crucifixion. And though you only have my word for this, the snafu with not having a Rape descriptor in it was an honest oversight when I posted it.  And in fact, it had been so long I almost forgot about it.

Thinking about it, I believe part of the 'problem' such as it is I'm having with the story is that I recently reread the HP series, and thus those characterizations are stronger in my memory than they would usually be.  But please, even though our viewpoints differ, don't for one second think I'm casting aspersions on your writing ability.  I may not agree with the direction or characterization, but I have begun to enjoy the story immensely.  The Umbridge sub-plot in particular is quite intriguing(at least I've never seen anything like it), and has made me hate her even more. Congratulations.^_^

Oh, and you might want to go read a little story I just posted today. It's dumb, but I think you might like it.

    Please keep writing

i really enjoy your writing, I had a lot to say about your story so far but it boils down to

"I've paid good money for much less of a story"

    thanks

This is an...odd story, but intriguing. How long will it run? Through seventh year?

(deleted and reposted review -- twice -- for typos arrrgh)

I appreciate your responding to my reviews, but I really wish you had a discussion topic on the forum; anything I'd want to say would be both A, too long for a review space, and B, fairly pointless, since you and I are obviously diametrically opposed in how we view the characters. That being said, there's something to be said for civil discourse, eh?^_^

In The Marvelous Land of Oz, there is a boy named Tip who turns out to be the girl Ozma, who had been turned into a boy to hide her identity.

Harry is a boy who will be able to change into a girl, and presumably that part of the Oz stories intrigued him in some fashion when he first read them. The story would probably resonate with him in new ways, now, since he and Ozma are both children who were hidden away as babies, with magic used to hide their whereabouts.

Congrats on writing an engaging and entertaining story. Thank you.

Ah, thus just keeps getting funnier. I eagerly await Umbridge killing Voldemort or Harry devising a way to counter AK or something else.^_^

Just read from 19 onwards to catch up. I have to say I stand by all my earlier statements about how much I love this, in a lot of fanfics I've read it can start to feel rushed the further you get into it and lose some of the intrigue that hooks you in the first place, but this still carries a fantastic pace and leaves me with just the right amount of curiosity to want to know more and see where u go with this. I'm utterly hooked I love how you dealt with the dragon, i couldnt help but laugh at Seamus and Ron after the ball, I loved the alternate use for the gillyweed (couldn't help but smile) and loved the whole sequence from start to finish concerning the second task. As you can see I'm totally taken with this, brilliantly written and utterly captivating with twist on familiar story in a universe I love, it is still the best I've read so far, keep it up. I CANNOT WAIT to read the rest.

I am continuing to enjoy watching your story unfold.  I am a bit alarmed to read that things will slow-down after Chapter 32; we’re already on Chapter 25!  I know that you will bring this to a satisfactory end.

    A couple of points:

1.)  You’ve captured Tonks very well.  Her line about “when you’re a grown-up, you want to forget what it’s like bein’ a teenager,” throws a strong highlight on Harry’s treatment of Ron.  For my own part, I would want him to give Ron more of a chance; for them to find a modus vivendi.  I have to remind myself that, as kids transition from pre-teen through puberty, relationships change and grudges are strong.  Still, I hope for redemption for the two of them.

B.)  This may be the first chapter in which Hermione didn’t burst into tears about something.  Chapter 24 had only one such instance, but up to then you’d been averaging around three per chapter.  That’s a lot.  I know Hermione is pretty emotional in the books, but if she loses it six times in a 300 page book, there’s still a ~50 page cushion between each cry.

The high density of weeps-per-word-count has, to me, made her appear weak – not too far removed from the whiny girlfriend who always trips while running from the monster.

I’m glad to see you toughening her up.  We know that she is smart and capable.  I wonder; was it was your plan to have her not gain this level of emotional stability until the engagement/marriage?

III.) A nitpick (you know I’ve always got one):  For the first time in 25 chapters, I’ve caught you misspelling a word.  Actually, it was spelled right, but was the wrong homonym.  Tonks mentions Moody running, “…everyone through the ringer…”  The figure of speech uses the word ‘wringer’ which is a device for squishing the water out of mops and (in old times) clothes.

That’s 5 points from your house for the grammatical error, and 100 points to your house for finding a new use for gillyweed.  Now, for the love of Magic, KEEP WRITING!  :)

Reading this fic is like watching a passenger train derail. Horrible, but strangely fascinating. I honestly don't care whether it's supposed to be a parody or a legitimately serious effort at retelling, because its hilarious either way.  "Harry Stu Potter" is great, and now that he and Hermione are going to marry, the story has gone completely off the rails. I (seriously) can't wait for the next installment.^_^
