Another good chapter but I didn't expect that twist, although it explains the behaviour of the two men who 'arrested' Draco. Not quite sure how Applegate seemed to be winning the stand-off with Draco and Hermione as while she's pointing her want at Hermione he's got a bead on her? Aquila is definitely very powerful through to caste such a spell without using a wand or speaking.

Also a bit surprised about the anti-apparition ward around the Titanic? Definitely at the time there was a lot less barrier to and interest in blocking immigration, in the US and elsewhere, including Britain than nowadays.

Strictly speaking I suspect Draco's action in breaking the door barrier will probably cost more lives than it saves. Given the probable fighting over places that will result and possibly the launching of life-boats before the mob gets to then. However it definitely will mean some of the people in 3rd class have at least a chance of escaping.

Definitely agree that Hermione isn't going to leave the boat while Draco is missing, unless someone basically clubs her over the head or something similar. However finding him, or even knowing he's still alive in the chaos of such a large sinking ship is going to be bloody difficult unless they can talk to each other magically.

Even if you were willing to consider them transfiguring something into a boat that would face some problems in itself. Unless it matched one of the Titanic lifeboats they would have some explaining to do. Plus such a large boat couldn't really be launched that easily from an already sinking ship and you could be swamped by survivors. Also with the down-tow when the ship goes down and the cold and the fog while there's a better chance of surviving there could still be serious problems.

Heyy, i love your story! time travel is just so exciting!! :) and I really enjoy how you put so many details in! Clothing, habits... it's such a vibrant story! :)

But what I don't get, is why they don't think about transfiguring anything into a boat - Hermione made a perfect duplicate of a fany necklace - a simple boat should not make a problem..and  all the witches and wizards could apparate or take a broom... who would travel so far without brooms?

Sooo looking forward to reading more! I want to know what happens with dimitria and Robert! Ohh and the malfoys!!

Well that's a nasty complication. I was wondering how Draco would get into a lifeboat given the women and children 1st policy but being arrested really makes it difficult. Does seem strange the sailors would continue with arresting him after Hermione remonstrated with them. At least to take a closer look at the other man.

Wondering if, since their both powerful mages there's a suitable spell that would get them safely away without using a lifeboat but don't know enough about the magic of the Potterverse. However if there something Hermione is the one likely to know it.

Liked the fact both of them had something of a panic attack when it came to the actual collision and aftermath.

Should have thought of it earlier but it shows how Draco has changed since Hogwarts. Can't really see him then enjoying a lower class muggle party like that. ;)

So the stones are setting up some sort of trial. Presumably more than them just getting back to their own time. But would the trial be to do nothing or to do something? They can't save the ship – at least unless we assumed their in a parallel world in which case it might work. However assuming their in their own world TL they must have been on the Titanic in 1912. So what impact, large or small do they have on the lives of one or more people?

Liked the party section and also how formidable and determined Aquila is showing herself to be, especially when she now knows she and her husband may die shortly. [Especially since Draco seems to have no knowledge of her and pureblood families like the Malfoy probably hammer details of the family tree into their young].

A bit surprised that Hermione is still somewhat in denial about her feelings for Draco and also how drunk she let herself get during the party. [Although probably in part letting go because there's no such tension and worry over things]. A little surprised they don't have a spell cure for an hangover, although possibly not the best time to be casting such a spell when you have a bad one yourself.

Anyway looking interesting. Checked the dates and not long to go now. Have to see what happens. Thanks again for a fascinating story. :)

Well that was a hell of a twist but I like it. :) You often see in stories in the Potterverse where someone casts a spell to hide something and it never seems that anyone detects the spell so good to see that assumption confounded.

Aquila sounds like a very powerful mage and also a very intelligent one. She was running rings around the couple and has calculated her way very well through what was going on. Does help of course that she knows about the temporal properties of the stones but even so she worked out a lot of details. Also very handy for them that she seems to be very liberal for a Malfoy in her tolerance of the relationship between Hermione and Draco, at least unless she's playing them, which could be possible but I suspect not. Was always dubious about their excuse for being found in the Malfoy residence in Southampton looking weak.

I wonder what she will do with the information about the coming disaster? Also it raises the issue of, presuming she survives the ship-wreak she could live quite a long time. Given what, albeit rather little about what their said about the future, will she try and prepare in some way to look after the Malfoy interests? In which case that could be a fascinating story in itself although she has relatively little to go on. Mind you this is before Voldemort's 1st rise as Tom Riddle so not sure what mage wars had occurred earlier in the Potterverse history so not clear how accurate a picture she could draw.

Anyway another good chapter. They still don't know when the Titanic goes down or any other details. Depends on how successful Hermione is at recalling her memories of the book she read, unless of course they meet the iceberg 1st.

That would be one of the hardest things for Hermione especially, knowing what's coming but being unable to prevent the disaster and so many deaths. I suspect its magically possible to prevent the disaster with managing in some way to give a warning that allows the ship to avoid the iceberg but because it would change the past and create so many paradoxes they can't afford to do it. Will they even be able to help friends escape during the crisis itself without knowing who is supposed to survive or not? That could be a nasty dilemma on the day. Especially if say Dimitra and her man are under threat.

Going to be awkward getting the 2nd gem and so many things can go wrong. For instance while Aquila may be in the bath where is the ring actually located and what if a servant is about or how will whoever steals it get into the cabin?

Good erotic scene and I wonder where Hermione learnt to do deep throating so skillfully? ;)

Ah I just had a feeling that the penny would drop this chapter, especially when their meeting the owner and architect. Good touch bringing Molly Brown into the encounter as well.

How do they react know they know what's coming? Going to be a severe case of panic stations for a while I suspect.

The pair are likely to be a bit of a reputation as one of them always seems to be taken ill suddenly. ;)

Good love scene and also the sorting out of differences beforehand. Ms Black doesn't seem to have noticed the duplication of the bracelet so that's one relief. [Always the option of it being some sort of trap or distraction but I don;t think that will be occurring].

Now what do Draco's family want and how difficult will it be for them to hide their identities? Especially if the 1912 Malfoys fit the stereotype of being arrogant and unpleasant can Hermione avoid saying something sharp back and triggering a reaction from Draco? ;)

Glad your feeling better and hope the arm heels up soon. :)

Ouch that's nasty. Hope your feeling better soon but that does sound serious. Always a problem with infections that are allowed to fester. Take all the time you need to get sorted out. No hurry on the story as we'll wait until your ready. Best wishes.

On that chapter that's one cat definitely debagged. Now he has to explain why he thinks their relationship has no future in terms of his arranged marriage.

I like the irony that Hermione thinks Draco's cast the contraption spell because he's thinking of them having sex again rather than as a belated move because he didn't take any precaution before. Although of course she might have, either magic or muggle. ;) Which she might have been favourable to apart from what she's interpreting about his attitude. Hopefully they will take to each other before the misunderstanding gets deeper.

With the making of the magic duplication of the necklace while Hermione is a very powerful mage is there any danger of Dimitra Black detecting it? Don't think anything has been said about her ability but she does come from a powerful family so it shouldn't be ruled out, although there is no sign she detected the spell being cast. Especially since the couple having passed themselves off as Lovegoods she would probably expect them to be mages.

So far I like it (the smut was pretty well done).

The only ding I have is...how does Hermione, Britsh-born muggle-raised bookworm, NOT know about the Titanic, the most famous civilian maritime disaster in recorded history? O_o

Well she was warned. ;) Whether its a touch of prophecy or her subconscious remembering what she had read about the ship. I wonder if Hermione will remember before the ship hits the iceberg. Doing so would give them some time to prepare but would also be shattering for them as they would know of the coming disaster but being unable to prevent it. [At least unless their willing to risk some very dramatic butterflies, which would probably wipe them from existence, creating its own paradox.]

Good passion scene. :) I wonder at what point they, especially Draco, will start thinking about what to do when they get back home. Going to be especially difficult if their returned to the exact time and place they disappeared from, which means no one else will have any idea their actually gone anywhere.

Hi thanks for the reply. I knew about the Titanic in part from an earlier film and also a strong interest in history so quite possibly Hermione has only had a passing contact with the story that she's forgotten about for the moment, although it sounds like it rings a bell at the back of her mind.

Sounds like their all going to end up on the ship and Hermione and Draco will be getting back home at some point. By which time their relationship could be a lot strong so their prepared to face the music over it as a lot of people, not just on the Malfoy side are likely to be unhappy.

Does make me think. When the ship and iceberg met I wonder if any powerful mages would actually die. Even given the rules about avoiding displaying magic in the muggle world there are ways of doing things subtly even ignoring if its a matter of life or death I can see most mages throwing that rule out of the window. Hope Dimitra Black and Robert make it OK. Mind you powerful mages especially are likely to have 1st class tickets and hence have a much better chance of getting a lifeboat spot.

Not sure of the maths but suspect Draco may have paid over the odds for those tickets. £870 was a hell of a lot of money in those days, but then he can afford it.

Anyway thanks again for a good story with an interesting twist. Still not really sure about that long a jump effectively means the present and hence future is frozen. That would suggest if they failed to get back pretty much the end of the universe wouldn't it? Can see that they would automatically – or with a bit of planning – go back to the moment they disappeared, although that could leave some important problems with explaining. ;)
