Author's Note:

I don't know how, I don't know when, but somehow this story disappeared. Most probably when the site got a make-over years ago. I've only became aware of it recently, so I'm re uploading it. I did correct all of the spelling mistakes, but everything else stayed the same. (Truth be told, my fav part was when I wrote 'personhood' instead of 'body')

I'll probably fix it up more at some point, but for now, enjoy.

The Marauder and the Toy

James Potter was hurrying through the halls of Hogwarts, cursing under his breath.

“Stupid Filch, couldn’t let me go before midnight, had to keep me scrubbing ‘till the stupid clock struck twelve stupid times, just had t-”

“Don’t move, you fucking bitch!” a hushed order threw him out of his thoughts “You’re gonna do what I want you to!”

“Please, no...” came the shaky reply.

Curious, James peeked into the corridor leading to the Slytherin dormitories, just in time to see Lucius Malfoy punch Severus Snape to the ground. As Snape was trying to get up, Malfoy kicked him in the side.

“Snape, this just won’t do.” He said casually, as he undid the buttons in his trousers “When I want you to, you bend over, and don’t move. Understand?” No answer, rewarded with another kick “Answer me!”

“...yes...” Snape answered through clenched teeth

“Good. Now, I want you to apologize.” He stood before the fallen boy “With a blow job.”

At that, a shaking Snape rose to his knees and reached for the front of Malfoy’s open trousers.

For James, that was it. “Oh, Hell no!” he entered the corridor, wand in his hand “Stupefy!” and the blond bastard fell to the floor, his cock standing up straight.

The Gryffindor looked at the kneeling Slytherin. His wide eyes were full of tears. “What...” he glanced at Potter, the tears finally falling “Why...” he chocked on a sob, and curled in on himself “Oh, God...” he cried silently “I’m so gonna get it for this...”

“Snape, you okay?” James knelt by his side “Did he do anything to you?” ‘Oh, great question, James.’

Severus kept muttering under his breath “It’s gonna be Crabbe and Goyle this time... This is gonna hurt so much...”

Potter listened to this mumble for a while, then realization hit him square in the face “You’re the toy.” An angry glare in reply surprised him.

“So what, you wanna make something out of it?!”

‘That’s a yes, then.’ “You’re right as Hell I’m gonna make something out of it!” he grabbed the Slytherins hand and pulled him to his feet. “Come on!” he dragged the other boy out of the corridor and all the way to the Gryffindor Tower, answering Snape’s questions and threat’s with a ‘Shut up!’.

As the portrait of the Fat Lady closed behind them, James let go of his captive’s hand.

“Now will you tell me why, the fuck, did you bring me here?!” Sev snarled, rubbing his sore hand ‘The bastard’s got a strong grip.’ He thought.

“You’re staying here.” James ordered.

“Oh, really?” the Slytherin raised an eyebrow “I think you forgot something – you’re a Gryffindor, I’m a Slytherin, and we hate each other. Is that not clear to you?”

“What’s clear to me is the fact that you’re the Toy, and I’m not letting you go back there, so they can... do that to you again!”

“Listen, asshole, not that it’s your business, but they’ve been ‘doing that’ to me since our first year. I’m used to it.”

“No, you’re not.”

“What the fuck do you know?”

“I know you were crying and begging Malfoy not to. That’s enough for me.”

For a few minutes the silence was unbearable. James was looking at Severus, and Severus was looking at the floor, his long hair hiding his face.

Suddenly Snape moved. One arm around his belly, the other hand covered his eyes, his shoulders starting shaking.

“You’re a bastard...” he choked out.

“I know.” James moved closer to the other boy

“I hate it.” Severus continued “I really hate it every time they... but if I don’t come back they’re gonna kill me...”

“They won’t.”

“They will! There’s more of them, and they’re stronger than me or you...”

“We’ll go to the Headmaster.”

“He won’t care...”

“He will.”

“He won’t!” Snape looked at him, his angry glare mixed with fresh tears “He doesn’t care about me, only about his perfect Gryffindors, and that means you, Potter!”

“How can you say that?! He cares about all of us.”

“After the Shrieking Shack he just told be to shut up about it, he didn’t even punish Black for trying to kill me! He doesn’t care about me! Not one bit.”

“Enough.” A new voice interrupted “A little louder and you’ll wake everybody up.”

James turned around and started chuckling nervously “Hi, Remus... What’cha doin’ up so late?” he moved in front of Snape, trying to hide him from Remus.

“Nice try.” The other Gryffindor smiled sarcastic at him. “May I know what Severus is doing here?”

“Long story.” James sighed “He’ll be staying here.”

“For the night?”

“I was thinking more like till graduation.”

“What?!” Snape grabbed the Gryffindor seeker by the arm “Are you insane?! I can’t stay here for that long!”

“He’s right, you know.” Remus agreed

“No, he’s not. He’s... the Toy... so he’s staying here.”

“Did you say ‘the Toy’?” Remus asked quietly eyes wide open with shock. James simply nodded, at what the werewolf turned to the Slytherin “You’re staying.”

“I am not!”

“Snape, listen-”

“No, you listen, Potter! Fuck off! This isn’t your damn business, so you can bloody well kiss my ass!”

“If we let you go back, they’re gonna-”

“I know what they’re going to do, and I’d like to get it over with as soon as possible.”

“You can leave, if you want.” Remus came closer to the pair.

“If I try, hero-boy here will stun me.”

“Of course I will.” A smug smile.

“I hate you.”

“If he wouldn’t, I would.”

“Fuck off, Lupin.”

“You’re repeating yourself.”

A growl “I have to go back to my dormitories, you imbecile, all my things are there.”

“I’ll go get them.” James offered.

“What?” Severus looked at him as if he’d grown a second head.

“I’ll go get them.”

“And just how do you plan on doing that?”

“Wait here.” And he was gone, up the stairs he went. A minute later he was back, carrying a piece of cloth.

Severus raised an eyebrow “You’re going to sneak into the Slytherin dormitories using a piece of cloth?”

“This is a cloak.” James explained, holding the cloak up for Sev to see.

“I see. Well, that’s a great idea, then.”

“Isn’t it?”

“You’re an idiot.”

“This is a special kind of cloak.”

“Oh, really?”

“Yeah, look.” James put it on and disappeared “You don’t see me now, do you?”

“An Invisibility Cloak?”

“Aha.” The empty space said.

“No wonder you never get caught.”

“Well, duh.” A floating head appeared “Now tell me the password and where your bed is.”

“Why not?”

“Severus” Remus took hold of the boys hand “Be reasonable. You’ll be safest here.”

“You hate me.”

“I don’t, and the fact that James brought you here is the best proof that he doesn’t either.”

“I’ll take care of Sirius, don’t worry about him.” Remus winked at him.

“I don’t like being touched.”

“Oh, sorry.” He let go “Well, what do you say?”

“This is not a good idea...”

“Severus.” James said softly “Please, trust us.”

Severus looked closely at James, then at Remus, then at the floor. “The password is ‘Ambitious Power’.”

An hour later James entered the Gryffindor Common room, wingardium leviosa’ing Severus’s trunk behind him.

“What took you so long?” Remus asked from the couch.

“Filch and Malfoy. Where’s Snape?”

“Right here, sleeping.”

James came closer to his friend. As he peeked above the back of the couch, he could see Sev curled on his side, his head almost touching Remus’ thigh.

“How’d you get him to sleep?”

“He looked tired, so I offered him a nap on the sofa.”

“He seems almost cute, when he’s sleeping.”

“Yeah.” Remus frowned “What did you mean ‘Filch and Malfoy’?”

“Well, I saw Filch coming, so I had to hide Malfoy and Snape’s trunk.”

“Hide Malfoy?”

“Oh, yeah, you don’t know. You know how I know he’s the Toy?” Remus shook his head “I saw Malfoy hitting Snape, so I stayed to watch. When Malfoy took his dick out and told Snape to give him a blow job, I stunned him.”

“And you left him in the corridor.”

“Now he’s in a classroom.” James grinned.

“In which classroom?”

“Are you mad? Do you know what will happen, if she finds him, stunned-”

“And with his cock standing straight up. Yeah, I know.”

“Good God. He’ll kill you.”

“He didn’t see me, all right? Plus do you really think he’ll say he was stunned while molesting a fellow student?”

“Good point.”

“Thanks.” he looked back at Severus “I guess we should get him to bed.”

“Which bed?”

“My bed.”

“And where will you sleep?”

“In my bed.”

“You can’t be serious.”

“I am. That way I’ll be sure he stayed here, and didn’t do anything stupid like leaving.”

“That makes sense.”

James picked Sev up, bride style “You’ll take he’s trunk?”

“Of course.”

Later, in the bedroom, a new problem came out.

“Do you think we should dress him in a pyjama?”

“Do you think we should rummage in his trunk?”

“He’d kill us.”

“You don’t say?”

“Guess we should ask him first.” James started patting Severus’s cheeks gently “Snape, wake up. It’s me, James. Wake up.”

“Mmm... Wha-”

“Where’s your pyjama?”

“Don’t have one.”

“Never have a chance to wear one.” And he was back in Lalaland.

After a short pause, Remus voiced his thoughts “I think my faith in the Slytherin society just hit an iceberg.”

“Mine died at birth.” James sighed, and started undoing the buttons on Snape’s robes.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m gonna lend him mine. Could you get the blue one out of my trunk?”

James took of Sev’s robe, his jacket, his vest, his shirt and his under-shirt, “He’s got a bloody armour on him.”

“Found it.” Remus handed him the blue pyjama, and glanced at the Slytherin’s exposed chest “He sure is thin”

“Yeah. Guess he wears so many clothes to stay warm.” He put the pyjama top on the sleeping boy “Now for the rest.”

With a little help from Remus, James took off Sev’s shoes, socks, trousers, underpants and stopped at the sight of his underwear. “Am I imagining things or is his underwear red on the back?”

Remus glanced at it, frowning “It is.”

“Please, tell me it’s not what I think it is.” James muttered, as he rolled Sev onto his belly, and pulled down his underwear, revealing Snape’s bottom and upper thighs covered in dried blood.

“Sweet Jesus...” James whispered.

Remus took out his wand and cast a cleaning spell and a healing one. He then took Sev’s underwear the rest of the way off, put the bottom of the pyjama on him, and covered him with a blanket.

“We can’t let him leave.”

“I know.”

A sigh “It’s late, we’d better to to sleep.”

Severus felt weird – he was warm and laying on something soft. Very weird. But it was nice.

It stopped being nice when someone threw himself on him with a cry “Jamie, wake up!”. Severus managed to untangle himself enough to take a breath, and he found himself face to face with Sirius Black.

They both screamed.

Sirius grabbed Sev by the neck and squeezed “What, the fuck, are you doing here?!” he squeezed harder “Where’s James?!”

Severus didn’t answer, he couldn’t even breath. As he was about to slip into sweet nothingness, the hands went away. He started coughing violently. Someone sat down next to him “Severus, you okay?”

‘Remus’ “I’m fine.” He croaked out, then coughed some more. A hand rubbing his back helped a little.

“What, the hell, are you doing?! You’re being nice to our enemy!”

“So I should strangle him, like you?”

“That would be nice, you know?!”

“What, the fuck, happened?!” James yelled as he burst into the room.

“Where were you?! Remus glared at him.

“I had to go!”

“You weren’t supposed to leave him alone!”

“You two knew about this fucker?!”

“Don’t call him that!”

“Or what, Potter?!”

“You wanna piece of me?!”

“Bring it on!”

“Stop it or you’ll both get it!”

“Shut up, Remus!”

“Don’t talk to him that way!”

“I’ll talk to him as I bloody well wan-”

“QUIET!!!” all three looked at the bed, on which sat Severus, wand in hand. “Silencio!” and Sirius was silent for good. Severus pointed his wand at James. “One word and I’ll shut you up, too!” he hissed.

James nodded, while Remus risked asking “Does that count me?”

“No. You’re the reasonable one.” Sev said as he jumped off the bed “Where are my clothes? I need to go to class.”

“You’re not leaving.”

“It’s really ‘nice’ ” he hissed the word “that you want to help, but I can’t stay here forever, idiots.”

“Potter, I’m warning you.”

“We saw it!” James blurted out

The wand wavered a bit “What?”

The Seeker moved closer to the Slytherin. “Your underwear.” He said softly. At the sight of Sev’s wide eyes, he leaned closer and whispered into his ear. “The blood on it.” He hugged the other boy to his chest, as gently as he could “I swear I won’t let that happen again.”

“You can’t do anything to prevent it.” Sev whispered, voice heavy with tears.

“I’ll be more than happy to prove you wrong.” James glanced at Sirius, who was looking ready to faint at any second “Though I think we’d better tell Sirius.”

“Whatever.” Sev pulled away, wiping at his tears.

“Why don’t you two get dressed. I’ll tell him.” Remus offered “And Peter, if he gets out from under the bed.”

“You do that.” James nodded at his friend, then smiled at Severus “On to your many clothes.”

“What was that supposed to mean?”

“God dammit!” James yelled, throwing his tie to the floor.

“What is wrong?” Severus asked, taking his books out of his trunk.

“I can’t get my tie on.” James sighed and picked it up “I never can.”

“Typical.” the long-haired Slytherin got up, and walked closer to the Gryffindor “You can’t even do something as simple as tying a tie.” He took it from James and tied it around the seekers neck “There.”

“Thanks.” James smiled at him

They both looked at the source of the new voice. Sirius was looking more serious then he ever was in his life, eyes fixed on Sev’s face, making him uncomfortable.

“Are you really the toy?” Sev didn’t answer “Are you?”

Then Sirius did something that shocked everybody else in the room – he hugged the Slytherin tightly.

Remus was the first to get back to his senses. “Um... Sirius?” he touched his friends shoulder “You can let go of him now.”

Reluctantly, the animagus released his captive, who jumped away from him and hid behind James.

“Guess I scared him.” Sirius chuckled slightly.

“You scared all of us.” James righted him

“So you won’t kill him if he stays here?” Remus asked

“What do you mean ‘if ’?” James interrupted “There’s no ‘if ‘! He’s staying here!”

“You’re repeating yourself.” Remus observed

“Sounds familiar.” Severus muttered.

“Hey, guys.” Peter came closer, dressed, school bag in hand “We’re gonna be late for breakfast.”

“I GOTTA GET DRESSED!!!” Sirius yelled and took off to his trunk

“Potter?” Severus picked up his books and put them into his bag.

“Yeah, Snape?”

“how am I supposed to get out of here?”

“With an escort.” Sev raised an eyebrow

“And with all the Gryffindors staring at me, thinking ‘What the hell is that slimy git doing in our beautiful dormitories?’.”

“No, under my cloak.” James smiled at him

“You’re an asshole.”

“And you’re lucky we have classes together.”

“And we’re not gonna let you out of our sights.” Remus said, standing next to the Slytherin.

Severus rolled his eyes “I’ve died and gone to hell.” He muttered.

Snape was not having a good day. He was forced to eat breakfast at the Gryffindor table, and he was practically dragged from classroom to classroom by the Marauders. Although he was thankful for their presence on his first class – Transfiguration.

When they entered the classroom, McGonagall was already there, yelling at Lucius Malfoy.

“I don’t care, mister Malfoy! Next time I find you like that in my classroom, I’m floo-calling your parents! Now get out!”

As Malfoy passed by Severus, he hissed maliciously “I’ll see you in my room.”

Sev shuddered, fearing the evening, then someone put an arm around his shoulders and whispered in his ear “He won’t. I won’t let him.” James rubbed his arm a little, before letting go. Oh yes, Severus was real grateful for the Gryffindor.

The day passed by quickly, the four Marauders making sure Severus was as far from the Slytherin’s as possible. During mealtimes, classes and the brakes between them, the Slytherin had to endure the Gryffindors and their drunk-like spirit, and all the time James kept a good grip on his wrist.

In the evening, they smuggled him into the Gryffindor Dormitory, locking the door of their bedroom behind them.

“So.” Remus said as Severus was taking the cloak off “Did you enjoy your first day with us?”

“It was like boiling on a high flame in the lowest parts of Hell.” the Slytherin answered, throwing the Invisibility Cloak to James

“I’m glad you liked it.”

“Yeah, and you sure are original.” Sirius put in “Never heard something like that before.”

“Good for you.” Sev flopped down on James’ bed “Can I go to sleep now?”

“By the way, you sleep like a rock, you know? Never thought you’d be like that.” James sat down next to him

“In my dormitories I don’t get to sleep through an entire night, so I guess I’m catching up on lost rest.”

A very awkward silence fell over the entire room, the Gryffindors shifting uncomfortably. Severus used this pause in the noise and promptly fell asleep.

“Well.” James sighed “I guess I’d better dress him to sleep.”

“Need help?”

“Nah, I think I can handle it.” James took two sets of PJ’s out of his trunk, and climbed onto the bed. He cast a cleaning spell on the sleeping boy, murmuring “Tomorrow you’re taking a bath.” He changed them both, tucked Sev in and went to take a bath himself.

James woke in the middle of the night. He got out of bed and used the loo. When he came back, he noticed something strange. Severus’ whole body was tense, a look of great pain on his face. Worried, the Gryffindor crawled onto the bed, and shook him awake.

“Hey, Snape. Wake up. What’s wro-” Severus sat up suddenly with a terrified gasp, startling him. The Slytherin blinked, evened his breathing and looked at the other boy.

“I’m sorry if I woke you.” He muttered

“You didn’t, nature’s call.” James answered, then frowned “That had to be some nightmare.”

“Nothing special.”

“You wanna talk about it?”

“Was it about the other Slytherin’s?”

Sev didn’t answer. James, without thinking, drew him into a hug.

Severus went rigid “Wha... what are you doing?”

James rubbed his back in slow circles “Comforting you, I hope.”

They both were silent for a long while, Severus slowly relaxing in the Gryffindor’s arms. ‘This is quite nice.’ he thought sleepily.

“Severus?” James laid his cheek on the other boy’s head.

“Please, tell me your dream.” He tried again “I won’t tell anyone.”

Severus glanced at him “You promise?”

“Cross my heart and hope to die.” A playful smile

“It was about my father. He would be most displeased, if he found out.”

“Really? Mine would skin those bastard’s alive, if that happened to me.”

“You’re lucky, then. Father would skin me alive. Before my first year he said that if I became the toy, I’m gonna get it. And no, he wasn’t kidding.”

“So telling the Headmaster is out of the question. He would have to tell your parents.”

“Mother’s dead.”

“My mother died soon after I was born. I only have one parent.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, I didn’t even know her.”

“How did she die?”

“Father said she made him angry.”

“He... You’re kidding, right?”

“No, I’m not.”

“We definitely can’t tell you your dad.”

“I know.” Severus yawned “You can let go now.”

“No.” James manoeuvred the both, so they were laying, Severus nestled in his arms.

“Let me go.”

“Do you trust me?” James asked after a moment of silence.

“Do you trust me?”

Severus pursed his lips “More or less.”

“Which one?”

“More that before.”

“Then close your eyes, and trust me. I won’t hurt you, and I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

“You say that a lot.”

“I know. Go on, sleep. We have school tomorrow”

Severus closed his eyes, and tried to relax. ‘All right. I’ll trust him this once.’ he thought, pressing closer to the Gryffindor ‘Just this once.’

Severus couldn’t concentrate on his book. He was sitting in the library with Remus and James, researching materials for an essay on human transfiguration. He stood up from the table, and walked over to one of the book shelves. Just as he was putting the book away, his eyes looking for another one, someone grabbed his arm and pulled him into an aisle. A hand closed around his neck as his back was slammed into the many books. He looked at his attackers, blood freezing in his veins as he saw Malfoy and a couple more Slytherins.

“Where, the fuck, have you been?” the blond hissed, squeezing the air out of the terrified boy “I told you to be in my room yesterday, didn’t I?”

“We’ll have to teach him a lesson.” One of the others snarled.

“Yeah, about obedience” Another one agreed.

Malfoy roughly pulled the book Severus didn’t know he had clutched to his chest out of his hands “First I’ll brake every bone in your fucking body!”

“MADAM PINCE!! THEY’RE DISRESPECTING BOOKS!!” a yell startled all of them, the blond Slytherin even let go of his captive’s neck.

The Hogwart’s librarian entered the aisle, looking ready to kill. “Who dared to-” she spotted the book in Lucius’ hand “YOU!! Put that book down! NOW!!”

The Slytherin thrust the book back to Sev. Madam Pince came closer, looking viciously from one boy to the other. When her eyes fell on Severus, her face softened a little.

“Mr. Snape, I do hope you weren’t a participant in such a vile act.”

A hand grabbed his arm (‘This happens a lot lately.’ Severus thought absently) and dragged him away from the other Slytherins. “No, ma’am, I saw the whole thing.” The arm was attached to James “They wanted to destroy Severus’ book, he tried to stop them.”

“Very good, Mr. Snape.” She smiled at him “You may go.”

“Yes, ma’am.” He nodded.

“And for you” She turned to the other Slytherins “I am going to have a long talk with you. And with your Head of House.”

Severus was now back in the Gryffindor dormitory, the book still in his hands. It took all of his will-power to even out his breathing, to calm his heart. But whenever he thought of what waited him in the Slytherin Dorm’s, it would start beating like mad again.

It finally calmed down, when familiar arm’s wound around him, rubbing soothing circles on his back. Severus felt a long forgotten feeling, the one he only felt with his kind aunt. He felt safe.

“Don’t worry, Severus.” James said softly “I told you I won’t let anyone hurt you, and I mean it. You’re safe with me.”

“I know.” The Slytherin muttered, nuzzling the other boy’s chest.

“Wanna take a nap?”

“I can’t... I have to write the essay for-”

“It’s Friday.” The long haired boy felt himself being lifted and carried to the bed “You don’t have to write anything today. So why don’t you sleep? I’ll be right here, next to you.”

Severus nodded and curled into a ball, pressing himself to James’ side. With a sigh he fell asleep.

About half an hour later, Remus came back from the library, grinning widely.

“What are you smiling about?” James asked, running his fingers through Sev’s hair.

“Oh, nothing.” Remus flopped down on his bed “I just stayed in the library. And heard a very stern lecture Pince gave those Slytherin’s.”

“And my ear’s will be ringing for a long time. She really hates ‘those who defile books’.” He chuckled “McGonagall even came to see what the racket was about.”

“Did she?”

“Yeah.” Remus’ grin widened “She gave them detention just to shut her up.”

“What kind of detention?”

“They’ll be scrubbing everything for a month. With Filch watching over them.”

“Castration would be better.” James muttered, turning his eyes back to the sleeping Slytherin.

“How is he?”

“Pretty shook up.” The black haired Gryffindor sighed “He couldn’t calm down.”

Both Gryffindors fell silent for a few minute’s, James still petting Severus’ head, Remus watching them.

“I think I’ll take a nap, too.” James said, turning on his side and hugging the Slytherin tightly.

“James, wake up.” Sirius was shaking his shoulder

“Go away...”

“Wake up! Time for dinner.”

“Not hungry...”

“Don’t care. Wake up.”

The Gryffindor seeker opened his eyes groggily “What time is it?”

“Almost seven. Time to eat.”

“Ok.” He sat up slightly “Snape, wake up.”

“Mmmm... I’ll do you later...” Severus mumbled, pressing closer to the other boy. “I promise I’ll suck you later...”

Both Gryffindors were shocked silent, looking at the slumbering Slytherin, then at each other. Finally James sat up with Severus in his arm’s, shaking him “Snape, wake up.”

Severus frowned and whimpered quietly “Don’t... it hurts... stop...”

“God dammit...” Sirius muttered

James shook the long haired boy, not so gently “Severus, wake up!” he nearly yelled.

Severus opened his eyes with a gasp.

“What was that?!” James demanded

“What was what?” the Slytherin asked, confused.

“We tried to wake you, and you said you’ll suck us later.”

“I did?” Severus didn’t seem surprised “Sorry.”

James frowned “What were you dreaming about?”

“Nothing. I just sometimes do that.”

“Yeah. When I’m asleep I don’t exactly know what’s going on, so when someone calls me like the Slytherins do, I say things I usually tell them.”

“Call you what?” Sirius sat down next to the pair.

“‘Snape’. Or ‘useless shit’, ‘stupid bitch’ and a couple more insults.”

“So when someone calls you ‘Snape’ you think of what happened to you?

“Not every time.”

“But you do?”

“Uh huh.”

“Yeah.” Severus chuckled “I had to obliviate a couple of students because of that.”

“So they wouldn’t tell.” The Slytherin looked at James, and the boy understood what he meant. Sirius though, didn’t.

“Why wouldn’t they? If they told the teacher’s, you’d be out of that hell in no time!”

James answered him “It’s not really our business what’s going on in this little head.” He patted the top of Sev’s head “I’m hungry, can we eat?” and without waiting for a reply, he dragged the Slytherin off the bed and out of the room, grabbing his Invisibility Cloak on the way.

After dinner, James made sure Severus wasn’t sleeping. When he was sure there wouldn’t be anyone in the bathroom, he dragged the very resisting Severus there.

“I really don’t need a bath.” He tried to argue with the Gryffindor.

“You’re taking a bath. End of discussion.”

“But I really don’t need one. A cleaning spell is enough.”

“Don’t be stupid a nice warm bath will do you good. We’re here.” He opened the door and entered, closing it behind the other boy. “Take your clothes off.” He fixed the bath, making sure the water wasn’t too hot.

When he turned back to the Slytherin, he was surprised to see the boy still fully dressed and looking scared.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, taking a step closer to him. Severus took two steps backward. “Severus, what’s wrong?”

“I don’t...” he looked at the floor “I don’t want you to see...”

“I already saw your body, Severus. I change your clothes, remember?”

“I assure you you don’t have anything to be embarrassed about.” Severus still didn’t look too sure about that, so he faced the wall and covered his eyes with his hands “Now you can get undressed and I won’t see anything.”

He heard the rustling of clothes, and a quiet splash. “You in?’

“Uh huh.”

“Okay.” He took his clothes off and got into the big tub himself.

“Wha- what’re you doing?” Severus asked timidly.

“I’m gonna take a bath with you.” James glanced at the other boy and reached for the shampoo “I won’t do anything other than that, okay?”

“Good. Now, come here, I’m gonna wash your hair.”

“I can do it myself.”

“Okay, here.” James poured some shampoo onto the Slytherin’s palms. He then poured some onto his head and started rubbing it into his scalp. Severus did the same and, after rinsing the shampoo out, took the soap.

James, after diving under the water to get the stuff out of his hair, took the soap out of Sev’s hand.

“Turn around.” He said.

Severus paled slightly. “Huh?”

“I’m gonna wash your back. Then you can wash mine.”

Sev obediently turned around, closing his eyes and waiting for the feel of James’ hands.

James stared at the other boys back, feeling sicker then any time before in his life. He moved to touch the purplish scars that shocked him so much. It looked as if someone splashed paint on Sev’s back, but they were rough under his touch. The marks were long and looked very painful. ‘So this is what he didn’t want me to see.’ He thought angrily ‘Oh God, when I get my hands on those fuckers, I’ll-’

“Potter? What are you doing?’ Severus asked, looking over his shoulder at him.

“What is this?” James asked, not looking away from the gruesome sight.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean this...” he gestured vaguely at the scars “shit on your back!”

Severus moved around and away from the Gryffindor “ But you said you saw everything.”

“I didn’t exactly see your back.” James sighed, shaking his head “What happened?”

“That was a punishment.” Severus whispered, looking away.

“For what?”

“For...”he rubbed his left wrist “...this...”

“For what?” James repeated.

Sev extended his hand, and James saw what he was talking about. There, on the inside of his wrist, over the blue veins under the white skin, was another scar, thin and long. It looked as if someone tried to cut the skin. Or tried to commit suicide.

James couldn’t say a word. Only one thought appeared in his mind. ‘Severus tried to kill himself...’

“Lucius found me when I...” Severus explained slowly “He healed it and punished me. The others had a go, too. I didn’t try to do it again.”

James took hold of the Slytherins hand, pulling him closer. “What did the do?”

“They... I really don’t want to tell you this...”

“Please, tell me.” James pleaded “I have to know. Please.”

“They... kinda whipped me with a hot poker... That’s why it looks like that.”

“Oh fuck...”

“Yeah. I’m sorry.”

James pulled Severus into his arms, hugging him tightly “It’s not your fault.” He whispered “It’s not.” He brought the wrist he held to his face and gently kissed the little scar. He could feel Severus tensing “Don’t worry. I won’t let anyone hurt you. Not even me.”

They finished cleaning each other quietly, none of them willing to break the silence. It accompanied them on their way to the dorm. James, instead of holding his wrist, held Severus’ hand.

James lay in bed, unable to sleep. He looked at the boy beside him, who didn’t have any problems falling asleep. He sighed deeply. ‘Does he still want to die? I hope not.’ He chuckled bitterly ‘If anyone told me a year ago I’d be this protective of him, I would’ve laughed in his face.’ He turned on his side, swinging his arm over the Slytherin, who sighed sleepily. ‘At least he sleeps a little better now.’ He kissed Severus’ forehead and snuggled closer.

“I’ll chase your nightmares away, Sev.” He whispered “I’ll chase all of them away.”

Morning came, and the Marauders + Sev went down for breakfast, no one noticing James holding the Slytherin’s hand. As they were eating at the Gryffindor table, a pancake hit the long-haired boy square in the face. All the rest of the Gryffindors laughed.

“Who, the fuck, threw that?!” James demanded angrily.

A boy from their year, Otho Stultus, stood up and smiled smugly “I did.”

“Why?” Remus asked, helping Severus clean himself up with a spell.

“‘Why’?” Otho repeated, stunned “‘Why’?! You have the audacity to ask me ‘why’?!”

“Yes.” Remus looked him in the eyes, the other Marauder’s glaring at him.

“I’ll tell you why!! Because he’s a fucking Slytherin!! The damn greasy git, or have you forgotten?!”

“He’s no ‘the damn greasy git’.” Remus answered calmly “He’s Severus. And yes, he happens to be a Slytherin. So what? He’s a friend of ours.”

“Yeah, you got a problem with that?!” Sirius added, and Sev looked at them, shocked.

‘They think of me as their friend? It can’t be...’

“Yeah, I do!! All of us have a problem with that, right?” Otho gestured to the rest of the Gryffindors, but no one agreed with him. No one wanted to mess with the Marauders. Otho didn’t think that, so he glared at them “What’s wrong with you lot?! He’s a Slytherin!”

“Hey, you.” Severus said, taking his wand out.

“What the fuck do you want, you greasy snake?!”

Comminueres.” Sev muttered and the salt-cellar shrunk to the size of a pea “If you don’t fuck off, I’ll do this to your dick.” Otho’s eyes widened. “It’s irreversible.”

Otho looked at him closely, the at the tiny object before him and left the table.

After receiving a glare from Sirius and James, the rest of the Gryffindor’s resumed eating.

James sat down and whispered to the Slytherin “That was some spell.”

“I know.”

“Why didn’t you do that to the Slytherins?”

“One: I have only one wand, and there’s a lot of Slytherins, and two: as soon as I enter my Dormitories, they take my wand away.”

“Oh. Sorry.”

“It’s okay.”

They finished eating in silence, James looking around to spot if someone got the same idea as Otho. No one did.

They were now back in the Gryffindor Dorm’s, James and Sirius wrestling over a comic book, Remus playing chess with Peter and Severus reading. Suddenly, when James was crushing him to the floor, Sirius exclaimed “OH, FUCK!!”

“You got that right!!” James grinned reaching for the comic Sirius was clutching “Give it up!!”

“No, you jackass!! I remembered something!!” he tried to get up, but the other Gryffindor was still laying on him. “Get off me!”

James grudgingly complied. “Well, what is it?”

“Today is Saturday!”

“Marvellous observation.” Sev muttered over his book.

Sirius groaned. “Not that. Today is Saturday, and Gryffindor is playing a match against Ravenclaw!”

“Oh, shit, I forgot.” James stood up from the floor.

“You don’t say?” Sirius looked at him “What’re we gonna do?”

“I don’t understand.” Sev closed his book, and put it aside.

“We’re all on the team.” Remus explained.

“Oh. Crap.”

“I agree.” The werewolf nodded “We can’t leave you alone, you’ll be easy prey for the Slytherins.”

“Maybe we could ask a Gryffindor to watch him.” Sirius mused.

“No, they all hate him.” Remus started pacing.

“Lily?” James offered.

“She’s a girl, and one girl is no match for the Slytherins”

“Maybe if there’s not too many of them.” James turned to the long-haired boy on his bed. “Sev, how many do you think will go after you?”

“I don’t know. I... entertained almost all of the guys, and I think they’ll want me back.”

“All?” James asked in a small voice.

“Without the first and second-years.”

“Yeah...” Sev dropped his head slightly.

“We’ll have to tell a former Gryffindor, then.” Sirius nodded to himself. “Or tell the Headmaster.”

“We are not telling the Headmaster!! Or any teacher!!” James glared at him.

“Why the fuck not?!” Sirius glared back.

“‘Cause my father will kill me, that’s why!!” Sev yelled, before James could answer.

“Huh?” Sirius was confused, to say at least.

“I’m sure he wouldn’t do that.” Remus tried to reason.

“Wanna bet?”

“...No, I don’t think I want to.”

“Okay.” Sirius clasped his hand together “I’m all out of ideas!”

“Well, actually, that ‘former Gryffindor’ part is a good idea.” Remus smiled wickedly.

“Remus...” James growled warningly.

“How about we tell a former Gryffindor, that’s not a teacher?” Remus winked at him.

“No.” Severus hissed.

“Why not?” Remus asked, raising an eyebrow. “He’s big, so no one will come near you, if you’re with him. And he’s not a teacher.”

“And he’s also the biggest blabbermouth in the world!” the Slytherin glared at him. “You tell him, and sooner or later it’ll ‘slip’ out of his mouth! Most probably to the Headmaster!”

“He’s right, you know.” Sirius sat down next to the long-haired boy. “He couldn’t keep a secret, even if his life depended on it.”

“Then we won’t tell him everything.” James decided. “Hagrid’s our only option.”

“No but’s, Sev. It’s final.”

“I really, really think this is a bad idea.”

“Sev, how many times do I have to tell you to shut up?” James asked, tugging on Sev’s hand to hurry him up as they were on their way to Hagrid’s. “It’s gonna be okay.”

“Yeah. Don’t worry so much.” Sirius patted the Slytherin’s shoulder. “They’re not gonna get you.”

“But they’re sure as Hell gonna try.” The boy muttered, his eyes darting downward. He watched his feet moving as he walked, so he wasn’t aware of James turning around slightly nor of his concerned gaze on him. He did, however, feel James squeezing his hand lightly. He looked up, and the other bay smiled reassuringly at him. James’ favourite sentence popped into his head: I won’t let anyone hurt you. Severus trusted him on this matter, so he squeezed back.

When he could make out the shape of Hagrid’s hut, doubt’s came back. What if Hagrid won’t agree? What if they’ll tell him too much, and he’ll tell one of the teacher’s? Or worse – the Headmaster? But before he could flee, Remus was already knocking on the door. Loud footsteps could be heard from within the cottage, and Sev held his breath, as the doorway opened, revealing the half-giant looking down on his visitors.

“Hello. What brings the Great Marauders ‘ere?” he grinned at them, then he noticed Severus. “Hey, I know you! Wha’ was your name...? Ah yeah, Sniv’llus!”

The Slytherin flinched at the nickname and his behind James, who glared at the grounds keeper. “Don’t call him that! His name is Severus.”

“‘lright then. Sev’rus it is.” Sev peeked cautiously at Hagrid from behind the Gryffindor.

“We came here to ask you a favour” Remus stepped closer to the half-giant.

“Oh? Cam’in then.”

A few minute’s later, all six of them were seated inside, each with a mug of tea in hand.

“So, what’s da deal?” Hagrid asked.

“Well, we’d like you to keep an eye on Severus during the match today.” Remus answered politely.

“The other Slytherin’s are bullying him.”

“Worse then you?” the Marauders blushed in embarrassment, James grabbing Sev’s hand as if saying ‘I’m sorry’. The Slytherin squeezed his hand again, as if saying ‘it’s okay’.

“Umm, we decided it’s better to be friends with him.” Sirius threw his arm around Severus’ shoulders “Right, Sev?”

“And friends take care of each other, right Hagrid?”

“They sure do.” Hagrid set his mug down “Okay, but what am I s’posed to do?”

“The best way would be to keep him as close to you as possible.”

“‘Kay.” Hagrid looked at the Slytherin, who tried to shy away from his gaze. Something was wrong with this kid, only what? “I’ll wait for you at the Gryffindor changing room, okay?”

Severus grunted as another Gryffindor pushed him. This was getting extremely annoying. And boring. Why did Hagrid had to choose this place to watch the match he couldn’t understand. He sighed. Yes he could. What better place for a former Gryffindor than among the Gryffindors, who arrived too late to get a seat in the Gryffindor stands? He shouldn’t draw any attention to himself, so he’ll just have to bear it in silence.

“Go back to Hell, you fucking freak.” Someone hissed into his ear suddenly and punched him hard in the abdomen. He staggered back and bumped into someone. Big hands lifted him up and seated him on something. When he opened his eyes, he saw that he was sitting on Hagrid’s shoulders, with the half-giants head between his legs.

“Ya comfy, Sev’rus?”

“Ya can see the game better now, huh?”

Sev looked up just in time to see Sirius gain another point for Gryffindor. “Yeah.” He glanced behind him to check if the Slytherins, that followed them earlier were still there. Yup, still there, only now they’re seething in anger. Maybe Hagrid wasn’t such a bad idea after all...

He looked back up, and cheered when Remus prevented the Ravenclaws from gaining a point of their own.

Meanwhile, up in the air, James was restlessly looking out for the snitch. He stopped suddenly, eyes glued to the Slytherin on the half-giants shoulder’s.

‘Oh, what I wouldn’t give to be Hagrid’s head... WOAH!! Where did that come from?!’

“James, look out!!” he turned his head in the direction of the voice and got hit with a bludger in the face. As he was falling down to the ground, he felt something slip into his open palm, and his fingers instinctively closed around it.

The ground was hard and painful. He could hear a lot of voices around him, but one stood out of the entire choir – Sev’s voice was calling him, so he opened his eyes. The world was blurry, but he probably just lost his glasses. Someone was hovering over him. “James?! Can you hear me?!”

‘Hooch.’ “Auch...” the thing in his hand was trying to escape his clutch, so he brought it closer to his face, trying to see what it is.

Hooch gasped. “How, in the name of Merlin, did you manage to catch the snitch?!”

“Dunno...” he had a killer headache.

“Come on, let’s get you to the Infirmary.”

As they levitated him away, he picked out Sev’s voice calling him again, but even that was lost in the ubiquitous roar of “Gryffindor WINS!!!”

James woke up in the Infirmary, with most of his team mates and McGonagall around him. He smiled at them.

“So, who won?” he asked, noticing immediately the absence of a certain Slytherin. He got instantly worried, so he quickly, but politely got rid of the well-wishers, gave his word of honour as a wizard to Madam Pomfrey that he will rest, and hurried to his dorms with Sirius and Peter.

“Where’s Sev?” he asked on the way.

“Remy went to fetch him from Hagrid. He said they’ll be in our room.” Sirius answered, gesturing for Peter to hurry up.

The two boys were – as said – in the Gryffindor Dormitories. As soon as Severus caught sight of the injured boy, he threw himself at him, hugging him tightly. “I was so worried about you...” he muttered into the Seekers neck.

“Nothing to worry about, Sev.” James rubbed the Slytherins back lightly “Pomfrey said I just have to take a nap, and I’ll be good as new. Wanna take it with me?”

Severus smiled at him softly “Sure.”

None of the other Marauders interrupted, knowing it was a moment of privacy for the two boys, and they didn’t want to ruin it.

Much later, at dinner.

“Are you sure you’re all right?” Severus asked, looking worriedly at James.

“For Merlin’s sake, Sev! How many times do I have to tell you, I’m fresh as a daisy! Pass the salt, Padfoot.”

“I’m still worried abou- Isn’t breakfast the time for mail?”

“Yeah, why?”

Sev didn’t answer, he just pointed up at the single grey owl flying towards their table. It dropped a letter in front of Peter and left, not even waiting for payment.

“What the Hell?”

“Wormtail, open it.” Remus picked it up “It must be important.”

“Okay.” Peter opened it, read through it quickly and paled. He stayed silent for some time.

“Pete? What’s it say?”

“It...” Peter swallowed “It’s from my dad. He says he got a great new job offer, so he took it.”

“We’re moving to America. I’m gonna go to school there...”

“What?! When?!”

“Today.” Peter stood up “I’d better go pack.” He excited the Great Hall, the other Marauders right behind him with Sev in tow.

Later, back in the Gryffindor Dormitories

“They can’t do this!!”

“I’m afraid they can, Sirius.”

They were all sitting on their bed, while they watched Peter slowly packing his trunk and trying to think of a way to prevent the boy’s departure.

“Your dad can’t just take you away, Dumbledore won’t let him!”

“The letter said dad talked about it with the Headmaster.” Peter answered calmly, trying to fold his shirt correctly. “Plus, I’m a minor and I’m under my parents’ custody. What they say, I have to do.” He cursed under his breath, glaring at the disobedient clothing “Goddamnit. I can’t even fold it right.” He sighed, rubbing his temple tiredly.

Severus, who kept quiet while the others argued, not thinking it was his place to interrupt, stood up, walked closer to the distraught teen, and silently folded the shirt for him, making sure it was folded perfectly straight.

“Thanks.” Peter smiled at him, and put the shirt into his trunk. He looked at his friend. “Wanna help? I guess if I’m to pack by myself, I’ll break or torn everything.” He smiled apologetically at them.

They all helped.

Mister Pettigrew arrived half-an-hour later to collect his son. With Sev hidden safely under the Invisibility Cloak, the Marauders took their time with last hugs and promises to write.

Later again, long after bedtime, with the lights off, the four boys in bed’s and one staying sadly empty.

“James?” a whisper in the darkness.

“Does it hurt?”

“Does what hurt?”

“Friends leaving.”

James looked at the boy beside him. Sev was curled in a ball, eyes looking at the pillow. “Huh?”

“I don’t have any friends, I never had, so I don’t know.”

“Stupid.” James drew him into a hug “I’m your friend, Remus is your friend, Sirius and Peter too, and from today on, so is Hagrid.” he lifted Sev’s chin and looked into the beautiful black eyes. “You have friends, Sev. You just don’t see them.”

They stayed like that for some time, looking deeply into each others eyes. James wasn’t sure which one of them moved. Did Sev lift hid head or was it him that dropped his? Either way, their lips touched softly for a few moments in a kiss.

It was sweet and gentle, just like a first kiss should be. It shouldn’t be forceful, it shouldn’t be a battle for dominance. It ought to be slow, careful, filled with assurances of safety and trust. It should be a proof of love or of a love forming. Just like this one.

The pair slowly parted, when the need to breath became unbearable. They were both panting, Severus shivering slightly and James’ head filled with thoughts. ‘Oh God, what am I doing? Sev doesn’t need someone taking advantage of him. I want him to trust me, not to scare him away...’.

He sighed and sat up. “Sorry, Sev. I didn’t mean to make you remember what those bastards did to you. If you want, you can go sleep with Remus, he won’t hurt you.”

“James...” Sev also sat up, his hand touching his still tingling lips. “It’s okay. You didn’t make me remember them.”

“But you’re shivering.”

“They never kissed me.”

“They didn’t?”

“No. They said a lowlife freak like me does-”

“Sev, you’re not a freak. You’re smart, very aristocratic... and beautiful.”

“Oh... thank you.”

A smile. “So that was your first kiss ever?”

“Yeah...” A shy smile.

Their lips connected again, also gently. When they separated, James started whispering into the soft lips next to his. “You can’t even imagine how happy I am, that I could give you your first kiss with the proper care that you deserve. This is the best present ever, the knowledge that I am the first to touch your lips, to relish in their softness.” He smiled softly, when the pale cheeks flushed in embarrassment.

“James, I’m happy you’re happy, but I don’t think I’m ready to do more then this, so-” he was cut off by another kiss, then a hug.

“Don’t apologize. I understand this is too fast for you, and I’m willing to wait for as long as you need. Okay?”

Severus smiled that soft smile of his. “Okay.”

He fell asleep wrapped in James’ arm’s, his hand holding James’ tightly, their finger’s intertwined. He prayed in his mind to every god possible, that the other boy wouldn’t be taken away from him.

The next day found the Marauders depressed. The boy’s decided to cheer themselves up by doing something fun. Unfortunately that meant separating.

While James and Sirius were flying off their emotions, Remus went to the library. Severus preferred books from a broom, so he accompanied the young werewolf.

After three hours of reading about potions (Remus read about the Dark Arts), Severus needed to use the loo.

‘Should I tell Remus? I shouldn’t go alone.’ A glance at the other boy’s sad eyes told him differently. ‘He misses Peter. I guess I’m not that good a company. He probably wishes he went with James and Bl- Sirius. Not Black, Sirius. James wants you to use their given name’s, stupid.’ He rebuked himself. ‘Because they’re my friends.’ He sighed.

“You okay?” Remus asked.

“I’m fine.”

“You sighed.” The werewolf chuckled softly. “I’ll bet you’re bored stiff.”

“No, no, I’m fine. But you don’t look too good.” That was true – Remus looked like he would fall asleep on the spot.

“I’m fine, too. I just had a rough night.”

The Slytherin dropped his head slightly. “It’s understandable. You lost one of your closest friends.”

“I didn’t loose him, Severus. He just moved away. Over the sea.” Remus sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Bear with me a little longer, okay? After lunch you can go with Jamie and Siri.”

“But I like reading with you.” Severus protested quietly.

Remus gave him a tired smile. “Okay, then. After lunch we’ll read some more.”

“I was thinking... maybe we could go for a walk. With James and Sirius. It’s a nice day and all, and... nevermind. It’s a stupid idea.”

“I think it’s a great idea. We’ll tell the guys about it during meal time.”

They returned to reading. About half an hour later, Severus’ bladder was a painful throb between his legs.

‘I won’t tell Remus.’ Severus decided, pressing his knees together. ‘He’s got enough on his head, he shouldn’t be worrying about the friggin’ Toy, too. I’ll just go by myself. I’ll be careful, and when I see a Slytherin, I’ll hide. Good plan.’

He ignored the ache in his abdomen, waiting patiently for the right opportunity to flee to the loo.

When Remus stood up to take another book, the Slytherin sneaked out of the library, before the werewolf turned back to their table.

After a quick scan of the corridor, Sev dashed to the toilet.

With his business done, he planned to run back to Remus, but he met problem’s. One problem. A tall, blond problem.

“You thought you could run from me forever?!” Lucius hissed, tightening his hold on the other boy’s arms. “Well, think again, you bitch!” he started dragging the resisting boy towards and down the stairs. When they were in the middle of them, Severus managed to free one of his hands.

“Let me go!” he yelled.

Lucius turned around, ignoring the curious stares of the other students, and slapped the other Slytherin across the face, hard. “Shut the fuck up!” Taking advantage of the momentary lack of resistance, the blond re-grabbed Severus’ arm, and shook him forcefully. “You a fuckin’ whore.” He whispered viciously. “You’re here for us to fuck. That’s your role in this school. Now you will stop this pathetic imitation of mutiny, and come back to the dorm, so I can punish you for your disobedience, till you’ve got no more blood to bleed, and then I’ll fuck you to death, bring you back, and fuck you some mo-” a knee connecting with his crotch made him gasp, a pained whimper escaping his lips. But he didn’t relax his grip on the long-haired boy.

He looked Severus in the eyes, and hissed “You are so dead...”

Sev felt his heart stop at the sight of the outrage and hate in Lucius’ eyes, unspoken promises of torture in the air. He gulped.

Suddenly, an arm wrapped around his waist from the behind, pulling him backwards as a fist flew over his shoulder, and met Lucius’ nose with a strangely nice-sounding ‘crack’.

As the blond tumbled down the stairs, a familiar voice whispered into his ear. “Go to Remus. Now.”

He turned his head to the side, looking at Sirius’ face, which was glaring hatefully at the fallen Slytherin. He obediently run back up the stairs to Remus waiting at the top. When his werewolf friend gave him a tight hug, whispering “Don’t you ever disappear like that.”, a new voice bellowed “WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!”

At the bottom of the steps, near the source of the roar, Lucius shakily stood up.

“Professor McGonagall.” He wiped the blood from his now broken nose. He glanced at the Gryffindor standing on the the spot he was in seconds ago and his still raised fist’s. “Black punched me.”

“Are you sure, Mr. Malfoy?” McGonagall asked, hands on her hips. “Maybe you just tripped and fell down. The stairs do move.” She raised her eyebrow, when the blond practically growled at her, then she turned to Sirius. “Mr. Black, do you have anything to say?”

“I punched him.”

“Oh, really?”

“Yeah.” He started going down towards the pair. “Could you, please, turn around, so I can do it again?”

“That’s enough, Mr. Black. I am most disappointed in you.”

“For hitting the bastard or for getting caught?”

McGonagall ignored that. “Five points from Gryffindor and a detention. Mr. Malfoy, go to the infirmary.” She turned and left, throwing a suspicious glance at Severus on the way. The boy paled slightly. ‘Does she know?’

‘How’d he get here so fast?’ “Yes, Sirius?”

“Would you be so kind, and tell me why the hell you weren’t with Remus?”

“I needed to use the loo.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Remus asked, frowning. “I would’ve went with you.”

“You seemed so down because of Peter, I didn’t want to bother you.”

“Nonsense You’d never bother me. We’re friends. Friends help each other”

“That’s right.” Sirius agreed. “Come on, James’s waiting in our room.” They started walking towards the Gryffindor Tower, Severus between the other two boys.

“What’s he doing there?”

“He fell off his broom into a big puddle of mud. He went to change before lunch.”

“But he’s all right, right?”

“Yes, Sev, just a few bruises. The Animagus glanced at the Slytherin. “I’ll bet you’ve got a bruise too, from that kick.”

“Huh? Oh, yeah. I kicked Lucius.” A wide grin appeared on his face, his eyes widening. “I kicked Lucius.”

“Yes, you did. Straight in the balls.” Sirius gave him an one-arm hug. “That fact just got through to your head, huh?”

“I kicked Lucius.” Severus started bouncing up and down, still grinning. “I kicked Lucius.”

“Okay, calm down, we’re nearing the dorm.” Sirius pushed him into a bathroom, with Remus following, and took out the Invisibility Cloak. “Put it on.”

“I kicked Lucius.”

Sirius frowned at him, then turned to the werewolf. “I think he’s in shock.”

“A happy shock.” The other Gryffindor nodded.

“I kicked Lucius.”

“Maybe he’s stoned.”

Remus sighed, and moved closer to the Slytherin, taking hold of his chin, and turning his head to face him. “Severus? We need you to be quiet. We’re going to James, but you need to stay silent. Do you understand?”

When Severus nodded and pursed his lips, the young werewolf wrapped the cloak around him, and the Gryffindors left the bathroom, Remus making sure that the invisible boy had a good grip on his sleeve.

James was sitting on his bed, waiting for his friends to return from the library, when the door opened, and the other Marauders entered.

“Hey, guys.” He smiled at them. “Had any trouble on the way?”

“You could say that.” Remus muttered, taking the cloak off of Severus, while Sirius locked the door.

“What do you mean?” the bespectacled boy asked, standing up. “And what’s wrong with Sev?”

When Remus was about to answer, the Slytherin threw himself at James, wrapping his arms around his neck, and kissing him on the lips, the force of this action throwing both boys onto the bed.

When they separated, Severus yelled. “I kicked Lucius!”

“You did?! Where?!”

“On the stairs! In the balls.”

James gaped at him. “You’re kidding.”

“I’m not!” Severus laughed bitterly. “If they ever get their hands on me, I won’t be alive for long!!” he broke into sobs, burying his face into the crook of James’ neck.

The Gryffindor sighed, and started rubbing Sev’s back soothingly. “There, there.”

“I’m gonna die a horrible slow death!”

“No, you’re not. I won’t let anyone hurt you. And even if they do somehow get you, I’ll save you.”

“We’ll help, too.” Remus sat on the bed next to the pair, and patted the Slytherin’s head. “You’re safe with us.”

“I know.” Severus sobbed out. “But I’m still scared.”

“Don’t be.” Sirius added to the re-assuring. “They won’t get you, as long as you don’t pull any more stunts like today.” At James’ questioning look, he mouthed ‘Later’.

James sighed again. “A nap will do you good. I’ll take one with you, okay?” Severus nodded against his shoulder, still sobbing. “Okay. Moony, Padfoot, shoo. Our naps are private.”

The other two chuckled, and left them alone.

The rest of the day passed by eventless. After the nap, the two boys snatched some food from the kitchen, then went out for a walk with Remus and Sirius. After the walk, the four did their homework, ate dinner, washed up, and went to bed. All in all, if you count out the Stairs Incident, the day was pretty boring. In the middle of the night, though, something strange woke Severus up.

The Slytherin woke to the feeling of something hard poking him in the stomach rhythmically. When he opened his eyes, the sight before him made him blanch.

James was drooling, a goofy grin plastered on his face, mere inches from his own. The poking turned out to be the Gryffindors erection humping everything on its way.

Severus slipped out of the bed, standing next to it and gazing at the other boy. He watched as James extended his arms forward in his sleep, searching for the warm body that was there. When his hands found a pillow, he drew it closer, wrapping himself around it, and moving his hips against it in earnest.

Sev stilled a laugh, when James started kissing the poor thing. Then James groaned out a name.

His name.

The shocked Slytherin couldn’t move for some time. In a daze-like state he walked over to Remus’ bed and shook the werewolf awake.

“What..?” he opened his eyes groggily.

“Can I sleep with you?”

“Sure.” The amber-eyed boy answered, yawning. “But what’s wrong with James?”

“He’s having a wet dream.”

“Oh.” A moment of silence “Get under the cover’s, before you catch a cold.”

That he did.

James woke up, feeling sated and relaxed. He stretched lazily, moaning softly. He had a pretty nice dream, and he was feeling good.

Then he noticed the bed was empty.

He sat up, and looked around the room. No Sev.

He looked at the chair he threw his Invisibility Cloak on earlier. It was still there, so Sev didn’t go to the loo.

“Oh, fuck.” He muttered, panic seizing him.

He practically flew out of the bed, rushing to Remus for help.

Just when he was about to drag the werewolf out of his bed, he noticed another body on it, under the covers.

“He said you had a wet dream.”

Remus turned to him, wide awake. “Some time ago, Sev woke me up, and asked for permission to sleep with me. I agreed.”

“Because I...?”

“You reek of sex, Prongs, even if you did it alone. And you know best what he’s been through.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“I mean he trusts you the most, and he tell you everything.” When James opened his mouth to reply, he added. “It’s late and I’m tired. You can sleep here with him, and I’ll take your bed.”

“I’m sure he’d prefer to wake up next to you.”

“Oh. Okay.”

“Just clean your pants, before you get in.” Remus muttered as he went to his friend’s bed.

James looked down at the front of his pants. It was wet and covered in everyone knows what.

He blushed crimson.

James woke up to black eyes staring at him.

“Umm... hi, Sev.” He smiled, uneasy under the dark stare. “How’d you sleep?”

“You want me?” it seemed Severus was aiming for giving him a good-morning heart-attack.

“Wha- wha- wha-”

“Do you want me?”

James took a deep breath. “I think I already told you I do. When we kissed, remember?”

“I do. But do you want me now?”

“Yeah, but I can wait till you’re ready.”

“Do you want to fuck me? Right now?”

“...” James frowned at him. “No.”

The Gryffindor could see the hurt in his eyes. “Oh.” Severus started to get out of the bed, but he was stopped by a hand on his forearm.

“I refuse to ‘fuck you’.” James said, serious. “I will not even touch you, if you don’t cut it out with the ‘do-you-want-me’ thing. If you let me, I would like to be the first to make love to you. Not to ‘fuck you’. I would sooner cut my wand arm off, than hurt you by ‘fucking you’, you know that. Now tell me what brought this on?”

“You had a dream.”

James sighed. “I’m sorry, but it’s not exactly something I can help.”

“About me.”

“... how do you know that?”

“You said my name.”

“I did?”

“More like moaned it.”

“Shit.” James muttered. “Okay, look. I really like you and we’ve already established that I want to make love to you, but I’m willing to wait. I really am gonna wait, but I’m sure as Hell I’m gonna have dreams about you. I just want you to ignore them, okay? You can sleep with Remus, when I have them.”

“That’s reasonable.” Severus nodded. “Okay, I agree.”

“Great. And no more ‘fuck-me’ business.”

“Okay.” James’ stomach choose that moment to growl loudly.

Sev chuckled and patted the Gryffindor’s abdomen. “There, there. Be patient, you’ll get some breakfast soon.” He looked up into James’ eyes, and smiled softly.

James smiled back, and leaned closer to the Slytherin, pressing their lips together. Sev sighed into the kiss, his hands wrapping around the bespectacled boys neck. James run his tongue over Severus’ lower lip, and the Slytherin drew back, startled. “Wha-”

“Don’t worry. A kiss with tongue. It isn’t unpleasant, but if you don’t want it, it’s okay.”

“No, I...” Sev looked uncertain, but he did trust James. “All right.”

“Cool.” James murmured, pressing their lips back together, and slipping his tongue slowly in. The mouth he tasted was sweet and hot. He run his appendage over the sensitive skin, he counted all the teeth and tonsils, and gently coaxed Sev’s own tongue to play.

When it did, it was shy and timid. James twirled his tongue around it, reassuringly rubbing Severus’ arms.

After a short moment of hesitation, Severus slid his tongue into James’ mouth and gently explored. It was nice. Kinda sticky, but nice.

James was in Heaven. The change of the playground was great, he had a better chance to taste every inch of Sev’s tongue It was Paradise.

His hands, while the mind was lost in fervour, trailed down the pale arms to the waist, one stopping there, the other going down, and cupping Severus’ cock through the pyjama bottom.

Severus yelped and jumped away from him as if burned, which ended in him falling off of the bed.

James stared at the now empty spot for a short while, then he moved to peer over the edge of the bed, and gasped at the sight of Sev on the floor, lips swollen, cheeks flushed, eyes wide open in terror.

James immediately jumped down next to the fallen boy, gathering him in his arms and hugging him tightly, hiding his face in the long black hair. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t do that again.” Sev muttered, feeling dizzy from the sudden movements.

“I won’t, I’m sorry.” James gently lifted the other boy and laid him back on the bed. “I’m sorry.”

“Stop apologizing.” Sev put his arms around the Gryffindors neck and pulled him on top of him. “Just warn me before you touch there again, okay?”

“You’re not angry?”

”No. You just startled me.”

“Oh.” James was silent for a moment. “What time is it?”

Sev glanced at the clock on the bedside table “6.30 am.”

“Wanna sleep another hour?”

“Why not?”

Later that day, during Care for Magical Creatures, someone wished to speak with James.

“What the Hell do you think you’re doing?!”

“Don’t play dumb with me. You know exactly what I mean.”

“I really don’t.”

A frustrated sigh. “Why are you torturing Snape?!”

“Snape? Geez, Lily, what crawled up your panties and died? You always called him Severus.”

“But you never did, and I wanted you to know who I’m talking about.”

“You said I know who you’re talking about.”

“Shut up! Don’t change the subject. I want to know what you’re up to with him.”

“Don’t lie.”

“I’m not lying.”

“You are. If you’re not up to anything, then why do you keep him with you all the time?”

“He’s part of our gang now.”

“Liar. Like you would ever be friends with him.”

“It’s the truth.”

“I still don’t believe you. You’re up to something so bad, you even ignore me.”

“Ignore you?”

“Yeah, all you seem to care about now is that greasy Slytherin.”

“He’s not greasy, I make sure of that.”

“You what?” a hiss.

“I take baths with him, and I make sure he washes his hair regularly. What’s the big deal?”

“Nothing. Go to Hell.” Lily turned to leave, but a gasp stopped her.

“It can’t be... Lily... are you jealous?”

“You are!” James grinned smugly.

“I’m not! Don’t be so full of yourself!”

James laughed and started poking Lilly in the chest. “You, Lily Evans, are jealous of me and Sev. Oh, boy, what a treat!”

“That’s not true. I just got used to you snivelling around me like a kicked dog all the time.”

“So you’re jealous AND you miss me! This is my lucky day!”

“No, it’s not.” Lilly grumbled and James laughed.

“Why Lily, one would think you love me!”

“You wish!”

“I don’t actually.”

“You don’t?”

“No. I found someone better than you.”

“You did?”

James grinned and flexed his fingers before her breasts. “But if you show me your tits, I might reconsider.”

Lily covered her chest with her arms. “You pig!”

“That I am.” James laughed again.

They both snapped their heads to the side, when they heard a pain-filled scream.

“James’s at it again.” Sirius smirked.

“What do you mean?” Remus asked, looking up from his book.

Sirius wordlessly pointed at James and Lily.

“Oh what?” Sev asked, not taking his eyes off of the bowtruckle they were studying.

“James’s hitting on Lily.”

Severus looked in the pointed direction, and his eyes filled with hurt.

Could it really be true? Was James really hitting on Lily? If yes, then that meant all the kind words James said to him were a lie. Maybe Severus was just another conquest for the Gryffindor? One couldn’t call them lovers, they hadn’t done anything yet. Maybe James prefers girls, and he’s taking care of Sev out of pity.

He saw James make a move as if he was going to grab Lily’s chest. Maybe James just likes boobs?

When a hand closed tightly around his shoulder, Sev looked behind himself, and saw Chrystopher Goyle grinning maliciously at him.

“Boo.” The bigger boy muttered.

Sev flinched and did the first thing that popped into his head. He threw his free arm into the air, and raked his fingernails over the other boys face. Hard.

Goyle let go of him and screamed, covering his face with his hands.

Sev stumbled back, looking as shocked as the wounded boy.

“What happened?!” Professor Kettleburn demanded, limping towards the scene.

“A bowtruckle attacked him.” Sev lied, hiding his bloodied hand behind him.

“Mr. Goyle, I told everyone at the beginning of the lesson to be careful with these creatures. Come with me, I’ll take you to the Infirmary. The rest of you kids are dismissed, go to your dormitories. We’ll finish this lesson next time.”

Sev glanced at the seething Slytherins. Now he was absolutely fucked.

“Sev, you okay?!” James grabbed his arms and turned him away from the angry mob. “He didn’t hurt you, right?”

“No.” Sev shook his head, and examined his bloodied hand closely. He could see bits of skin under the fingernails.

A wand tapped the back of his hand and the bloody pieces disappeared

“Better?” Remus asked, putting his wand away.

“That was some move.” Sirius patted his shoulder. “Remind me never to spook you.”

“Sev, what happened?” James asked.

“I just scratched him.”

“Some scratch.”

James began to get worried. “Sev, what’s wrong?”

The Slytherin looked at him, face blank. “Nothing.”

James wanted to say something else, but Remus cut him off. “Let’s go eat. I’m hungry.”

“Me too.” Sirius agreed.

“You’re always hungry.” Remus reminded.

“I’m a growing boy.”

“You’re always saying that.”

They continued bickering as the four made their way to the school, James holding Sev’s hand behind them, and Sev staring into space.

The rest of the day passed by rather quickly. The Slytherins kept away from the Marauders after seeing the scars on Goyle’s face.

Severus was quiet, saying little and mostly staring unseeingly ahead. Needless to say, the Marauders were worried sick about him.

Much later, when James came back from the shower and wanted to get into bed, he found Sev touching his chest.

“What’re you doing?” he asked.

Sev jumped back, startled, and hit his head on the headboard.

“You okay?” James climbed onto the bed, and rubbed the hurting boy’s head. “You’re gonna have a bump.”

“Your fault.”

“I know, sorry. What were you doing?”

“If I hear ‘nothing’ from your mouth again today, I’ll flip. Now tell me what’s wrong?”

“Does your chest hurt?”

“Then tell me. Please.”

“You’ll laugh.”

“I won’t.”

“Okay. I have a question.”

“Do you really like me or do you just want to get into my pants?”

“Answer me.”

“I. Really. Really like you. And no, not just to get into your pants.”

“How do I know you’re not lying?”

“You’ll just have to trust me. Is this another part of the ‘do-you-want-to-fuck-me’ thing?”

“Another question – do you want to get into Lily’s pants?”

James almost fell off of the bed. “What?! Lily?! No!!”

“Yes, for Merlin’s sake! Who told you I do?”

“You were flirting with her today.”

“I wasn’t! She got jealous I wasn’t after her any more, so I took the opportunity to laugh at her!”

“You tired to grab her breasts.”

“Her boobs?! She ain’t got any to start with!”

“So you really don’t want her?”

“Okay.” The tightness in Severus’ chest disappeared with relief.

James huffed at the indignity of this conversation. “So that’s why you were acting the way you did today?”

“Pretty much.”

“Will you tell me now what’s wrong with your chest?”

“No boobs.”

Now James fell off of the bed. “Say WHAT?!”

“You promised not to laugh.”

“I’m too shocked to laugh! Of course you don’t have boobs, you’re a guy!”

“I know, but I thought that you just like breasts, so I was wondering if I could have them.”

“You didn’t,” James muttered as he got back onto the bed.

“I did. That’s a silly idea, isn’t it?”

“Not if you’re feeling insecure, I guess.” After a short pause to think, James started unbuttoning Sev’s pyjama top.

“What’re you doing?”

“Checking.” James answered simply, staring at the exposed flesh. He turned around and drew the curtain around the bed, a small crystal ball lighting itself above them. “Can I touch it?”

“My chest?” a nod. “Yeah.”

James pressed his open palms to the breast area. “Yup, no boobs.”

“Great.” Sev sneered at him slightly.

James moved his hands in a circle, rubbing Sev’s nipples, and the boy gasped.

The bespectacled boy smirked, and trailed his fingers over the ribs. “Still no boobs.”

“Wise guy.” Sev shivered, panted slightly.

James’ hands moved back up to the nipples, squeezing them between his thumbs and forefingers. “Yup. Definitely no boobs, but I still like your chest.”

“I like your chest.” James slipped the shirt off of the Slytherin. “Creamy white skin,” he pushed the boy onto his back. “Delicate, but firm muscles,” He nuzzled the said muscles. “ And cute little pink nipples,” he gave one nub a long lick, and Sev moaned. “I also just luv the sounds you make.”

Severus gasped as the tongue touched his nipples again. No one ever before did this to him.

James continued licking and nibbling all over Sev’s chest. He trailed kisses over every single rib (‘He’s still too thin.’ James thought) on one side, his hand caressing the other one. After tongue-bathing all the ribs, he kissed his way back up, and attached his mouth to one nipple, sucking.

Sev’s back arched off the bed, a load moan freeing itself from his throat.

James sucked happily, his hand trailing complicate patterns on Sev’s abdomen. He released the nub, and murmured, hand wavering above the bulge in Sev’s PJ bottom. “Can I?”

Sev opened his eyes, dazed from the other boys activities. He looked first at James, then at his hand and slowly nodded.

James gently rubbed the half-hard cock through the thin material, watching Sev’s face for signs of panic. Not finding any, he pulled the pants down slightly, freeing the hardening shaft.

Severus gulped, nervous and a little frightened.

“Shh... it’s okay, Sev.” James murmured, fisting the leaking appendage, and pumping it softly.

He attacked the other nipple, sucking and biting gently, his hand moving faster and faster.

Sev moaned, his body shuddering under the onslaught of sensations. It felt good, so good. He never wanted it to end.

James pressed his thumb to the tip, smearing the pre-come in circles. He licked the nipples again, and started nibbling on the collarbone, leaving small red marks.

Sev gasped as liquid fire spread from his abdomen and up, consuming his whole body. He came with a quiet yell.

James inhaled Sev’s scent before drawing back and tucking Severus’ cock into the pants. “You enjoyed that?”

“Oh, yeah.” Sev answered with a dreamy smile. He looked at the other boy and the visible little tent in his pants. “What about you?”

“I’ll just go to the bathroom and take care of it. Be right back.”

“You can... do it here.” Sev blushed and looked away.

“You sure?”

Sev nodded, and James slid his pants down to his knees, taking hold of his painfully hard erection. He closed his eyes and started pumping, imagining it was Sev’s hand moving over him.

When he heard a soft sound, not quite a moan nor a whimper, he lifted his lids and saw Sev watching his lower half, the deep black orbs wide open with curiosity.

James came with a groan.

“Interesting.” Severus murmured, as James slumped into the white puddle.

“Ew. What is?”

Sev cast a cleaning spell on them both. “Coming. I’ve never done it before.”

“But you plan on doing it again, right?” James pulled his pants up.

“I sure do.” Sev snuggled into James’ side, and the Gryffindor covered them with a blanket. “How about you?”

“I do, too. Now I have a question for you. Are you jealous of Lily?”

“... maybe. I’m not sure. I’m afraid you’ll prefer her after you get bored with me.”

“Never ever.” James planted a soft kiss on Sev’s forehead, then on the eyelids and finally on the lips. “I’ll never get bored with you. Mark my words – you’ll never be free from me.”

“Oh, good.”

“Now, go to sleep.

“Sweet dreams.”

“James, wake up.”

“I smell come.”

“You do? Damn, Moony, your nose is a curse.”

“Shut up, Sirius and wake him up. Gently, Sev has to stay asleep.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know. Jamie, wake up.”

“James, food.”

“Mmmm... wha’ time is it?”

“Works every time.” A grin.

“What do you guys want?”

“Shhh. Be quiet, don’t wake Sev.”

“Why no- oh, that.” James gently unwrapped his arms from around the Slytherin and slipped out of the bed. “Got the spell?”

“Yup.” Remus lifted his wand and the bespectacled boy uncovered the sleeping boy. “Revelare anima.” Remus murmured, and a stream of blue light leaked out of the tip of his wand and onto Severus. In a matter of seconds it covered the Slytherin completely, making him transparent like a ghost. Inside Sev lay a sleeping black as night cat. Its long tail swayed from time to time gracefully, ear twitching as it dreamed.

“A cat?”

“Not if you wanna live.”

“Fur ball?”

“You’re one to talk Padfoot.”

“How about Long-Tail?”

“How about Long-Horn?”

“That’s stupid.”

“So was your idea.”

“I got it.”

“Enlighten us, Remy.”

He did.

“I like it.”

“It suits him.”

“Especially the ‘claw’part.”

“Okay. With that done, lets go to sleep.”

“Yes, sir.”

Time flew the four boys. The Slytherins stayed away from them, Severus’ last stunt still fresh in their minds, while Lily tried to provoke James into throwing himself at her, but the Gryffindor ignored her in favour of giving Sev a nice wet kiss.

Before they knew it, it was the middle of December. And the eve of a Hogsmeade Trip.

“Where is it, where is it?” James kept muttering, as he paced around the room.

“Where is what?” Sev asked, not taking his eyes of his lover.

“It’s a secret.”

“Okay, that is getting annoying.” Remus declared, hopping off him bed, and stalking to the bespectacled boy. “Either you tell us or I’ll tickle it out of you.”

“And I’ll help.” Sirius nodded, standing behind the werewolf.

“Wait, guys, you wouldn’t!” James took two steps back.

“We would.” The two boys grinned, but before they could attack a quiet tapping noise was heard, coming from the window.

“It’s here!!” James yelled, throwing himself bodily at the window.

“Be careful or you’ll break it.” Severus warned.

James opened it and a white owl flew in. “Good girl, Tara,” the Gryffindor praised the bird, untying the pouch from it’s leg.

“What is it?”

“Money!” the Gryffindor grinned. “A lot of money!”

“What for?”

“Shopping, silly.” James smile affectionately, kissing the Slytherins cheek.

“I thought you already have everything.”

“Not true, but it’s not for me.”

“Then who?” Sirius asked, annoyed.

“For Sev!” James exclaimed, throwing his arm around the Slytherins shoulders.

“I’m gonna buy you lots and lots of warm clothes. The things you wear are too thin.”

“Good idea. I’m afraid you’ll catch a cold in clothes like yours.” Remus smiled at his friends.

“We’ll talk about it later.” Sev replied to James’ proposition and got into bed.

“That sounds like trouble.” Sirius commented, patting his friend on the back. “Good luck.”

“Thanks.” James muttered. He also got into the bed, pulling the curtains closed behind himself.

Severus was sitting cross-legged against the headboard, with his arms crossed and glaring at the Gryffindor. “I don’t want you to buy me clothes.”

“Why not?”

“Because I haven’t earned that money, therefore it is not mine, ergo I don’t have the right to spend it.”

“It is my money, and I decide how I want to spend it, and I want to spend it on you.”

“I refuse.”

“I won’t be able to pay you back.”

“I don’t care. Even if you could, I wouldn’t take it.”

“I’d force you.”

“Sev, what’s the big deal. I wanna spoil you a little, and you... you’re ungrateful.”

//“You ungrateful shit! You should thank us on your fucking knees we’re keeping you alive, worthless slut!!”// Lucius’ hateful voice rang in his head.

“... I’m sorry.” Sev whispered, looking away. “You’re right. It’s your money, and you decide what you do with it. I won’t protest.”

In a matter of seconds Severus was wrapped in James’ tight hug. “What did I do?” James asked, pressing his face into the long hair. “What did I say?”

Sev said nothing, clutching James’ clothes in a death grip.

“Was it the ‘ungrateful’ part?”

Sev flinched and James kissed him gently. “I’m sorry. You’re not ungrateful. I know you have your pride and stuff, but please allow me to spend that money on you.”

“Why would you? It would be a waste.”

“No, it wouldn’t. I can see you shiver every time you go outside. I’m afraid you’ll get sick, and die or they’ll tell your father and he’ll take you away. You need new clothes, Sev. I’m your lover, and I’m responsible for you. I want to buy you new warm clothes. Okay?”

“Okay.” Sev nodded tiredly. “But not too much.”

“Sure, just some pants, shoes, socks, a robe, a sweater, gloves-”

“Go to sleep.”

Severus waited patiently for James to fall asleep. When he did, the Slytherin slipped out of bed, and to his trunk.

He quickly found the hidden drawer with all of his money for the school year. One Galleon. It was too little for warm clothes, but it was all his family could afford. True, his father hated him, but he still gave him money for educational purposes.

Sev sighed as he held the money. James would probably laugh at him if he knew how much he had. Maybe he should allow the Gryffindor to buy him some warm clothes. It was getting colder and colder with each day, and his actual clothes really did give no warmth.

Sev sat with his back pressed to the bed. Christmas was coming . Maybe he should spend the money on presents for his friends. He wasn’t sure he could find a shop with nice, cheap things in Hogsmeade. Also the Gryffindors won’t let him go around for himself. What to do? Who to ask?

Then light dawned. Hagrid. He was poor, so he’d know where to look. He was big, and looked after him once, so it’ll be no problem for him.

He quickly put his robe and boots on, took the Invisibility Cloak, and went to Hagrid.

The half-giant of Hogwarts was woken up by knocking and Fang’s loud barking. Yawning, he got up, and answered the door. Outside, in the snow, stood Severus.

“Hi, Hagrid. Can I come in?”

“Sure, but shouldn’t yah be in bed?” he moved aside, and the boy entered.

“I have a question for you.”

“Okay. Yah sit, I’ll make tea.”

“That’s not necessary. I don’t want to be more of a bother than I already am.”

“Sit, and I’ll make tea.” Hagrid repeated. “No prob.”

“Well, if you insist.” Sev sat in a big chair, feeling small, and waited patiently for the half-giant to finish the tea. He absent-mindedly petted Fang’s head.

After ten minute’s two big cups were set on the table, and the Grounds-Keeper sat heavily in a big arm-chair opposite of the Slytherin. “So what’s on yeh mind?”

“I need to find a store with cheap things in Hogsmeade. I thought you’d know one. No offence.”

“I’m sorry if I-”

“No, no, I mean there ain’t a cheap store in Hogsmeade. I bet you’re looking for X-mass presents, huh?”

“How much do yah got to spend?”

“A Galleon.”

“What exactly yah want t’ buy’em?”

“I’m not sure. I was thinking about books, but I don’t have enough money.”

“Three nice cheap books, right?”

“Then I know the perfect place.”

“That’s wonderful!”

“But it’s in Diagon Alley.”

“Crap. I can’t go there.”

“I know. That’s why I’ll take you.”

“You will?”

“But you’ll have to do something for me.”

“... what exactly?”

“I heard yah’re the best in Potions. D’yah think it’s be possible for yah to make a potion for Fang?”

“Yeah, Fang.”

“As in your dog?”

“Well, what kind of a potion?”

“One that’ll make him live longer.”

“I don’t understand.”

“Fang’s not young any more, and I wouldn’t want’im t’ die, so I thought a potions maker would help. D’yah think yeh could do it?” Hagrid trailed off, and frowned at the expression Sev was wearing. The boy was staring blankly ahead, lips moving as if he was whispering something, brows creased slightly.

The Slytherin was like that for about ten minute, then finally he asked for a pen and paper. Hagrid complied, and the boy snatched it out of his hand, scribbling frantically.

Hagrid observed him curiously. ‘That’s some strange kid.’ he thought.

“Done.” Sev smiled at the parchment in his hand.

“Huh? What’s done?” Hagrid was confused.

“I’ll do it.” Sev looked at the other man, and smiled apologetically. “I’m sorry. When I invent something I act like that.”

“You needed to invent the potion for Fang?”

“Not exactly, just modify a similar one for humans, but I’m sure it’ll work.”

“I trust yah. Okay, come on,” he got up. “we’re going.”

“To Diagon Alley.”

“But it’s almost midnight. All the shops are closed.”

“They are, but the owner of the one we’re going to owns me a favour. He’ll open.”

“What kind of a shop is it?”

“A book store. There’s a lot of nice cheap books. ‘M sure yah’ll find something.”

“Alright, but are you sure it won’t be a problem?”

“Sure, sure. Come on, we’ll go by floo.”

“No.” A suspicious looking man glared at the half-giant. “you can forget about me opening my shop at this hour.”

“I remind yah owe me big, Roco. I just want the kid t’ pick out three books. E’ll pay, and we’ll be gone.”

“Hagrid, you kidnapped a kid from Hogwarts. If they find him in my shop I’ll be in big trouble!”

“Yah won’t. I’ll take the blame if anythin’ ‘appens.”

“Yeah right.”

“I will!”

“The answer is still no.”

They continue arguing, Severus stood next to the entrance door, a few feet away from the pair. He was right – it was a problem. He should never have allowed Hagrid to take him here in the middle of the night.

“So, you wanna buy some books?” a female voice behind him asked. He whirled around and came face to face with a middle-aged blond woman.

“Yes, ma’am.”

“How many?”

“Okay, come one.”

“But-” he pointed at the half-giant who was waving his pink umbrella at the other man.

“Don’t worry. They’ll be at it for some time. I’m Roco’s wife, by the way.” She led the Slytherin in, and turned on the light. “you pick your books out, sweety. I’ll deal with my husband.”

“Yes, ma’am.” Sev turned to the three big wall covered with rows and rows of book. “I like this shop”

“You like books, huh?”

“Very much.”

“The books are second-handed, but they’re in good shape. Have a good hunting.”

“Thank you, ma’am.” with that, Sev started looking for presents for his only friends. Outside, he could still hear the two men yelling at each other, but he ignored them.

He rather quickly found a book for Remus – “Werewolves – Art for Art” – stories and poems written by werewolves. Perfect. Remus himself wrote poetry, Sev was sure he would appreciate the chance to compare.

For Sirius he picked a book he was sure to regret – “The Stories of 1001 Arabian Pranks_. The whole school would regret it, no doubt about it.

James was a difficult one. He couldn’t get him the same book as Sirius, and a book called “100 Ways To Make Him Moan” seemed selfish (and it made him blush). He sighed deeply.

“What’s wrong, sweety?” the lady asked, looking up at him from her own book.

“Nothing serious, ma’am. I just can’t find a suitable one for my friend.”

“How about a sex book?”

Sev blushed brightly. “No, ma’am.”

“Oh, poor you,” she chuckled. “Does this friend of yours like Quidditch?”

“Yes, he’s a Seeker.”

“Even better,” she walked past him and climbed the ladder to reach the highest shelf. “Now where did I put you...?” she muttered as she scanned the tomes there. “Ah, here it is,” she smiled at the Slytherin as she threw him a book.

Severus caught it easily, and looked at the cover. “Quidditch Ghost Stories” he read.

“I didn’t know there are ghosts in quidditch.”

“Well, there ain’t, I think. But the book’s great. Funny and, most important, scary.”

“Can I really take it? You seem fond of it”

“One Galleon, and these three are yours.” Sev obediently gave her the coin. “Want me to wrap them?”

“No thank you, ma’am. I’ll shrink them. They’ll be safe in my pocket,” he did like he said.

“Okay, hone. Now come, Hagrid’ll take you back to the school.”

They left the shop, Severus waiting patiently for the lady to lock the door, and went to the still fighting male’s.

“And another thin-”

“That’s enough, Roco. If the kid stays here one more minute, he’s gonna catch a cold.”

“Aye, Sev’rus. S’rry, I don’ think ‘e’ll let us to but the books.”

“It’s okay, Hagrid.” Severus smiled, deciding not to anger the Roco guy. “We’ll look somewhere else.”

“Alright, Sev’rus. Come on, I don’ wanna yah t’ get sick.”

“Goodbye, ma’am.”

“Nighty night.”

“I’m really s’rry that yah couldn’ buy any books, Sev.”

“I did.”

“Yah did?”

“Yes.” Sev took the books from his pocket, and showed them to the half-giant, unshrinking them. “That lady took me inside and I bought these.”

“Well, that sound like Melra alright.” Hagrid smiled at the Slytherin. “Yah should get back to bed now.”

“I will. Thank you very much.” Sev bowed slightly and grabbed the Invisibility Cloak, exiting the hut.

Once back in the Gryffindor Dorms, Sev hid the books in his trunk, and climbed onto the bed.

Just as he was getting comfortable, warm arms wrapped around him and drew him closer to their owners body. “Where were you?”

“I had to use the loo.”

“You’re ice cold.”

“It’s chilly.”

“Then I’ll be your blanket,” he tightened the hug.

Sev smiled and cuddle closer. “Good night, James.”

“Yeah.” A yawn. “Sweet dreams.”

“Does it fit?” James asked, rightening the shoelace “It’s not too small, is it?”

“It’s fine.” Severus stood up, and walked a little in the boots. “They’re very warm.”

“You like them? Maybe you’d like a different colour?”

“No, I like this one.” Nice, warm brown. “Besides, you’ve already bought me black ones.”

“So they’re okay?”

“They’re perfect.”

“Brilliant! Lady, we’ll take them!” James yelled at the shop assistant.

The young blond smiled pleasantly at them, and led them to the counter. Severus didn’t look as James paid. It still bothered him and he didn’t want to know how much money’d be wasted today.

James grabbed his arm, and dragged him into another shop, this time with clothes. The Gryffindor told him to look around, while he checked out the pants part of the shop. Sev obediently looked through the shirts, finding some nice green and blue ones. But what he saw as soon as he turned around was absolutely... words failed him. A beautiful, warm-looking sweater in his favourite colour It was gorgeous.

He touched it gently. It was smooth if petted down and ticklingly rough as he run his hand up. His mother had a dress of this cloth, he was dreaming of having something like that since he found her things in the attic.

“If you like it so much, I’ll buy it for you.” a most hated voice purred into his ear. Sev snapped his head to the side, looking directly into Lucius’ cold grey eyes.

“No, thank you.” Severus whispered, not taking his eyes off the other Slytherin.

“Why not? If you’re such a whore Potter has to but you into his bed, I can do it better.”

“Please leave me alone.”

“No. You see, you’re a good whore. You can suck, you know who likes what. It’d be too much of a bother to train another brat. So, we’re still gonna get you back.”

“Leave me alone.”

A smug grin. “Not in this lifetime.”

Anger Severus hadn’t felt before came to life in his chest. He glared at the other hatefully, and hissed. “Leave me fuckin’ alone, you blond arrogant dick! If you touch me, my knee will have a date with your crotch and its tiny package again.”

Lucius opened his eyes wide. When had the toy learned how to talk back? “You forget your place.”

“And you’re not in your kingdom. If you’re so eager for a fuck, go bugger Goyle. Or better yet, go to Hell and don’t come back.”

Lucius was shocked. And impressed. But mostly pleased. He had the privilege of breaking the toy again. This had to be an early birthday present.

“Hey, Malfoy came here to buy pink panties?” James, who returned with three pairs of pants, stepped in front of Severus and gave the blond a push. “Get out of here, you owl-fucker.”

“Congratulations, Potter. You’ve just made me mad.”

“And what are you gonna do about it?”

“Right now, nothing. Too many witnesses. But I’ll get you. Don’t forget that.” that said, the blond turned and left.

“Asshole.” James muttered and turned back to the Slytherin. “You okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“I’m really proud of you. You told him off like a pro.”

“You picked anything?”

“They’ve got some nice shirts.”

“Cool. Show me.”

“Um... James?”

Severus picked up the deep purple sweater he liked so much. “Would you buy me this, too?”

James grinned, and pecked his cheek. “This is your day, Sev. Anything you want.”

“Thank you.”

Sirius groaned as he carried his load of packages into their dorm room. With a relieved sigh, he threw them onto James’ bed. “Tell me again why I had to be the mule?”

James and Remus, after also depositing their packages onto the bed, explained in unison. “We were also mules.”

“But why didn’t you shrink them?”

“Because I forgot. Now shut up.” James said, taking off his scarf. His gaze travelled to the Slytherin standing in the middle of the room. He was clad in his new clothes: a new robe so dark blue, it seemed black; the purple sweater he asked for, new warm black pant, black heavy boots, and black gloves. He looked dashing.

“What?” Severus frowned at him. “Do I have something on my face?”

“No. Just admiring my sexy boyfriend.” James grinned, then laughed as Sev blushed and looked away. “My pretty prude. Come help us sort the things out.”

Sev complied, red still colouring his cheeks, and, after taking off his robe and gloves, started segregating the things he got into a neat pile.

James hadn’t kept his word. He did buy too much. Five shirts, two sweaters, three airs of pants, two pairs of boots, ten pairs of underwear and socks, and two pairs of PJ’s. He must’ve spend a fortune. He quickly shook his head to get rid of those thoughts ‘Don’t wanna know, don’t wanna know.’ he chanted in his mind, but unfortunately Sirius had the same thought.

“Hey James, don’t get this wrong, but how much money did you parents send you?”

“Just curious.”

Sev paled, and sat heavily on the bed. ‘God, that much money... on me... is he insane?!’

“Sev you okay?” James asked, watching him worriedly.

“Are you?” Sev asked back.

“You must be crazy to spend so much money in one day!”

“True. I’m crazily in love with you!’

“You... what...?” the Slytherin asked in a small voice.

“Sirius, you hungry? Let’s go eat.” Remus grabbed the animagi’s arm, and dragged him out, leaving the tow alone.

“I love you.” James said, kneeling in front of the sitting boy and taking hold of his hands.

“You do?” Severus asked uncertainly.

“I do.”

“For what?”

“I’m not sure myself.” James smiled, half-jokingly, half aetiologically.

Severus closed his eyes, as if in pain. “Then you don’t love me.”

“I do, I really do. All I can think about is you. When we’re together, I wonder if you’re not bored or feeling uneasy. When you’re not with me, I’m afraid something will happen to you. I can’t get you out of my head, but I’m not even trying. I like your company, I want you to stay with me. Forever if that’s possible.”

Severus wouldn’t meet his eyes. “Do you really mean that?”

“With all my heart.” James lifted his chin so he could plant a soft kiss to the Slytherin’s lips. “I truly love you.”

Severus chocked on a sob, pressing one hand curled into a fist to his lips, eyes screwed shut. He didn’t understand why he was crying. He’s never felt so happy in his entire life. But the tears wouldn’t stop flowing.

James wrapped around him in a comforting hug. “Don’t cry.” James whispered, pressing his face into the Slytherin's hair. “I don’t want you sad.”

“I’m... not sad...” Sev said in between sobs. “I’m happy... so happy...”

“Shh, there, there.” James soothed, cupping Sev’s face in his hands, and looking into the tear-strained eyes. He smiled softly. “Can I kiss you?”

“I think I should wipe my face first.” Sev smiled back.

“Nah.” the bespectacled boy pressed his lips to the others, gaining access almost immediately. Their tongue’s caressed lovingly for a long while. When they parted, James started showering kisses over the other boys face.

“You can stop, I believe I won’t die without your lips on me.”

“You don’t like it?”

“That’s not the poieeee!” Sev squeaked when James’ hand touched him through the pants.

“Wanna do something more?” the Gryffindor winked.

Sev rolled his eyes and, after untangling himself from the other boy, took off his new sweater in one swift movement. “I’m all yours.”

James squealed with delight, and threw himself at the Slytherin, pinning him to the bed with another kiss.

“Hey, Remus?”

“Yes, Sirius?”

“Do you think we can go to our room now?”

“No, I think we should give them an hour.”

“Or two.”

“Or two. You got the purple ink?”

“Right here. Make sure you write it in your prettiest hand-style. We can’t give it to Sev if it’s covered in scrawls.”

“I know, that’s why *I’m* the one writing it. Now shut up, and finish the crest.”

“I’m doing my best.”

“You’re talking your best. Stop it and work.”

“Hey Remus?”

A sigh. “What is it now?”

“Will I get a kiss after we finish this?”

“I will even kiss you downstairs, if you don’t say anything for the next ten minute’s.”

Silence met him, so he got back to his own work. He knew it wouldn’t last. Sirius could be really annoying when he wanted sex, and sex was what he wanted. It was always the same. First being a pain in the ass, then asking for a kiss, knowing he’ll get more for shutting up. Remus smiled softly, wondering why he let the animagi manipulate him so. Guess he wanted some lovin’ too.

With a sigh, the werewolf shook his head to clear his thoughts, and concentrated on his task.

“I’m sorry.” Sev muttered.

He and James were laying on their bed, the Gryffindor on his back with the long-haired teen curled against his side, head pillowed on his chest. They were both naked.

“It’s not your fault.” James answered, staring ahead. After his confession of love they engaged themselves into a proper grope-session. But when James touched the Slytherins opening, the other boy bolted, trying to get away, terrified of what would happen. Then when he realised what he did, he broke down, sobbing his apology’s into the Gryffindors chest. It took the bespectacled boy a long time to calm him down.

“I’m sorry.” Sev muttered again.

“Stop it. It’s not your fault. I bet it’s something like a reflex.”

“What do you mean?”

“You were hurt like that a lot, so your body turns on a defensive-mode or whatever it’s called.”

“I’m sorry.”

“All right, that is getting frustrating. Stop apologizing!”

Sev flinched slightly. “I’m-” he started again, but a hand on his mouth stopped him.

“Don’t apologise for apologising. I’m the one who’s sorry for yelling. Didn’t mean to.”

“It’s okay.”

“How about I give you a gift that’ll take your mind off all that?”

“I’ve already gotten enough gifts.” Sev protested softly.

“It’s okay, this one’s more for the brain.”

“Well... alright.”

“Okay.” James looked into the Slytherins dark eyes. “Do you love me?”

“Think about it.” James patted his head. “You can give me the answer later.”

“Think hard, Sev. You need to be sure of the answer. Okay?”

“...okay, James.”

“Sweet. Let’s take a nap.”

“Yes, sir, James.” A smile.

(Late into the night)

“He asleep?”

“Yeah. Gift’s ready?”

“Just needs to be wrapped.”

“How is it?”

“Getting annoying. I’m a dog, why do I have to-”

“James?” a yawn. “Is it time to get up?”

“No, Sirius wanted a hug, so Remy’s giving him one.”

“Oh. Please don’t be too loud.”

“No prob.”

“IT’S CHRISTMAS!!” Sirius yelled, bouncing on his bed.

”Padfoot, it’s Christmas Eve, wait to tomorrow.” Remus mumbled, turning away from the crazed Animagus.

“No, it ain’t! Shut up!!”

“IT’S CHRIS-” Sirius wanted to yell once more, but was silenced and knocked off the bed by a well aimed book in his face.

“If you repeat that one more time today, you’ll spend Christmas in the Infirmary” James hissed.

“Can I say it tomorrow?” Sirius mumbled from the floor.

“Is it time to get up?”

“Yeah, Sev. Come one, breakfast awaits.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Can I come too?” a weak mumble.

“You’ve already came, Sirius.” Remus said, smiling wickedly. “Remember?”

“Yes, but I meant to breakfast.”

“Oh.” Remus mock-sniffled. “And I thought you wanted me.”

“... James, take Sev to eat, we’ll catch up.”

James laughed.

“Do you think it’s alright to leave them?” Severus asked, tugging on James’ arm.

“Yeah. The full moon is coming, so Moony’s horny. It’s always like that, remember?”

“Oh yeah. Will I have to spend it alone again?”

“It’s only for one night, Sev. We don’t want Moony to feel lonely, he could hurt himself.”

“I know, but I’m afraid he’ll hurt *you* one day.”

“We’re animagi, he thinks of us as of his pack. He won’t do anything.”

“But what if he decides he would want some deer-soup.”

“Now that’s an image I could go without.”

Severus chuckled softly. Then yelped, when an old hand fell on his shoulder, a similar one landing on James’.

“How delightful!” Albus Dumbledore beamed at them. “A Gryffindor and Slytherin friends. That’s the way it should be! Especially on Christmas Eve.”

“Um... thank you, Headmaster.” James answered uncertainly.

“You’re welcome, dear boy.” The old man smiled at him, patted Severus’ head, and continued walking to the Great Hall.

“Is it me or is he kinda creepy?” Severus asked, moving closer to James.

“He is,” with a sigh the Gryffindor threw his arm around the Slytherin’s shoulders. “Come on, we have to go to breakfast.”

“I’ll be scared eating with him at one table. When he looks at me, I feel like he’s... scanning my mind.”

“I heard he’s a Legilimens, but I don’t think he’d do that without permission. Besides, there’s twenty five people left for the holidays, it’d be weird to eat alone at a big table, when everyone else is eating at another one.”

“I guess you’re right.”

The day passed by rather quickly for everyone, except for Severus. He decided to give James an additional gift. And God was he nervous.

He waited late into the night, staying awake while the Marauders slumbered. As soon as the clock struck midnight, he shook the Gryffindor awake.

“James, wake up.”

“James, wake up.” More forcibly.

“Wha- what is it?”

“Wake up.”

“I’m up, I’m up. What is it?”

“It’s after midnight. It’s Christmas Day. Time for presents.”

“As much as I like presents, it’s too early for it.”

“But I want to give you a present.”

“Alright.” He sat up. “Where is it?”

“I want you to take me.”

“You do?”

“You sure?”

“I’m absolutely sure I’m ready.”

“But I’m not.”

“You don’t want to?”

“It’s not that, it’s just so sudden.”

“James, listen. I thought about what you said. I thought real hard, like you told me to. I’m sure of the answer. I love you too.”

“I feel the safest when I’m with you. The mere thought of you leaving me fills me with such dread and despair I know I would kill myself. I would give you anything, even if you wanted me to return to the Slytherin Dormitories, I would do it to make you happy.”

“That would never make me happy.” James interrupted, gently petting the other boys thigh.

“I know, and that’s the beauty of it. For the very first time in my life I *know* someone won’t hurt me if I do something wrong, that I won’t be beat up black and blue if I displease you in any way. And I absolutely love this feeling. I love you. And I want you to make love to me. I want to feel you inside me, filling me without pain, I want to feel your feelings from the inside, I want them to touch my heart, literally.”

“I don’t think I can go that deep.” James smiled, as he moved his hands to cup the Slytherins face.

“You can try.” Severus’ breathed, brushing his lips against the others.

“I sure can.” With a grin, James captured the sweet mouth in a passionate kiss, his fingers slipping under Severus’ shirt, pulling it off over his head. He did the same with his own, and attacked the milky white body with a new found fervour He licked, he nibbled, he kissed the exposed flesh, happy to no-end when it reddened under his touch.

Severus moaned, arching his back into the Gryffindors touches. It felt so good to be caressed by James, he could feel the care and love the other boy left on his body with his hands. He wanted to be able to do that too.

He gently ran his hands up and down the Gryffindors back, rubbing the muscles. He planted a soft kiss to James’ shoulder, a decision forming in his mind. He gently pushed the other boy away.

“Sev?” the Gryffindor questioned, gazing into the dark orbs. “Is something wrong?”

“I want to do something.”

“We’re already doing something.”

“I want to... taste you...”

“Oh. Are you sure?”

“Alright then.” James sat back against the headboard, watching as the Slytherin moved to touch his organ.

Severus wrapped his elegant hand around the Gryffindors hard shaft. He bent his head to lick the head lightly, tasting the pre-come gathering in the small slit. He took the tip into his mouth, sucking gently, while his hand moved up and down over the hot flesh. With a hum, he moved his head lower, taking in as much as he could. His hand fell lower, to gently play with the heavy sack.

James groaned as the scalding heat around him tightened – Severus started sucking again. He tangled his hand in the long hair, tightening and untightening his grip in a soothing gesture.

Severus pressed his tongue to the delicate underside as he moved his head up. He let the appendage fall from his lips, blowing gently on it, before swallowing it again, relaxing his throat as he went. Once at the base, he inhaled James’ musky scent deeply, gently shaking his head, knowing his hair would tickle the Gryffindors thighs, driving him insane with the gesture. He hummed his favourite song around the thick cock in his mouth, being extra careful to make sure James felt all the vibrations.

James found it difficult to stay still under the Slytherins ministrations. It felt so good, he had to concentrate real hard not to just let go and fuck that hot mouth. He felt his insides tighten with pleasure as he exploded inside that warm cave of flesh.

Severus chocked slightly, but swallowed every one drop, savouring the rich taste. James tasted like royalty, not like the scum that taught him to do it. He chuckled, licking his fingers.

“What’s so funny?” James asked, panting.

“Your flavour is yummy.” Sev answered with a smile.

James smiled back, pulling the Slytherins head to his own, kissing him deeply, tasting himself. When they broke apart, he licked his lips. “Hmmm... I think I prefer your taste.”

“Whatever meets your fancy.” was his answer, as Sev cuddled closer. “I really want you in.”

“Alright.” James pulled the Slytherin to lay on his body, as he accio-ed a vial of lube. “I keep this for special occasions.” he murmured, as he flipped the lid open, and smeared its contest over his fingers. He moved his hand to the other boys cleft, rubbing it gently till he found the puckered opening. He pressed one finger in slowly, feeling Severus’ breathing quicken against his chest. With his free hand, he tilted the long-haired head up and gently kissed his lover. “I want you to look at me, Sev.” He whispered into the skilful mouth. “Concentrate on your breathing, and look at me. I won’t hurt you.”

“I know.” Severus pressed their lips together, wrapping his arms around the Gryffindors neck, and relaxing the lower half of his body. The finger moved inside of him. It was the first time he was being prepared, the feeling strange, but not unpleasant. James slowly added another finger, scissoring them gently, and he grunted softly.

“Okay so far?” James asked, and Sev could see the worry in his eyes. His heart warmed with the knowledge James was so caring.

“I’m fine.” he reassured him, locking their lips in a kiss again. James took the opportunity to slip another digit into him, pressing the insides ‘till he found the little bundle of nerves. He rubbed soft circles on it, and Severus gasped into his mouth, trying to brake the contact, but the Gryffindor didn’t allow him, his free hand grabbing the back of the other boys head, pushing his tongue inside. Sev writhed against him, the waves of raw pleasure forcing salty tears out of his tightly shut eyes. When his own orgasm ripped through him, he screamed, James swallowing the sounds emitted by his throat.

As Sev lay panting on his lover, he felt James’ chest vibrate as he chuckled. “Now we’re even.”

Sev smiled tiredly, feeling the fingers still moving inside him, his own shaft hardening again. “More.” he whispered, lifting his body to lick the hollow of James’ neck.

“Well, I don’t know, Sev. You up to it?” James asked, removing his fingers from the Slytherin.

“I want to.” Another lick.

“Alright then.” James took hold of the Slytherins waist, lifting him up onto his knees. “Wait one second.” He quickly coated his cock with the lube, positioning Severus over his swollen organ. “Now push down, Sev.” he instructed. “Take your time.”

Obediently, Severus moved his hips down, impaling himself on the stiff rod of flesh. It felt so good to finally have James inside of him. He looked at the other teen, saw him panting heavily, face tense. He’s trying not to thrust, he realized with a smile. As quickly as he could, he slid the rest of the way down, sitting comfortably on the other boys lap.

“Soo good...” James breathed, head rolling back slightly. “You feel so good, Sev.”

“Thank you.” he smiled, his own breathing becoming heavy also.

James looked into his eyes, and ran his hands over the Slytherins sides lightly. Severus’ body snapped back, hands covering his abdomen protectively. The Gryffindor caught his arms in alarm, the sexual haze pushed aside from his mind. “What is it? Did I hur-”

“Don’t... do that.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It tickles.”

James’ eyes opened wide in surprise “What?”

“Don’t touch my sides like that.”

“Because you’re... ticklish?”

James laughed, falling back against the pillows in relief. “Merlin, I thought I hurt you.”

“You didn’t. I should’ve told you about that.”

“Hey, no problem.” James smirked evilly, tracing the sensitive area with his fingertips. Severus tried to moved back again, muffling his laugh with his hands. James gently pried the slim hands from the sweet mouth, kissing them as he twined the fingers of both hands together. “Sorry.” he apologised. “I’ll give you a tickle session tomorrow.”

“You’re evil.”

“I know.”

Using their joined hands as leverage, Severus gently pushed himself up then down over the now semi-hard cock, squeezing his muscles to get more friction. James groaned. “God...”

“Why thank you, but you can call me ‘Severus’.”

James sat up to kiss him gently. “Wise guy.”

The Slytherin smiled widely. James released his hands, so he wrapped them around the other boys neck again, while James grabbed his hips, thrusting slowly in and out. The Gryffindor nibbled on Sev's shoulders, quickening his pace slightly. The Slytherin started panting, allowing the other boy to do what he wanted with his body, trusting him to make sure he felt enough pleasure to last him for a week. And he wasn’t disappointed.

James thrust into the beautiful body, his arms wrapping around the thin torso, as it trembled with ecstasy. He used his mouth and tongue to caress Severus’ shoulders, neck and face, feeling a second orgasm build up in his body. From the way Sev groaned and moaned he was getting close, too.

“Can I move faster?” he asked.

“Can I move harder?”

“Thank you.” He pushed the other boy onto the bed, so he was laying under him on his back, thrusting hard and fast in and out of the delicate body. His eyes were fixed on his beloveds flushed face. He leant his weight on his left arm, his right one pumping the Slytherins cock in time with his thrusts. Both boys were panting heavily, the coupling intoxicating for their senses.

When Severus came with a scream, James winced as the heat enveloping his shaft tightened and pulsed around him. He released into his lover, falling bonelessly onto him, still mindful not to crush his slight frame.

“That was wonderful.” Severus whispered sleepily, when he remembered how to talk.

“For me too.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too. Thank you for the present.”

“You’re welcome.” Severus yawned widely, so James rolled onto his back, the other boy nestling comfortably in the crook of his arm.

“Night, Sev.”

His only answer was a sleepy smile.

The first thing James saw when he woke up the next morning was Severus’ sleeping face. He smiled, kissing the other boys forehead lovingly, tightening his arms around the slim body.

With a dreamy sigh, the Slytherin nuzzled his chest, and the Gryffindor chuckled.

“Wake up, sleepy-head,” he murmured, scratching the other boys nose. In response Sev shook his head slightly and snuggled closer. James pinched his nose then, and after a moment a pale hand batted his away, black eyes opening groggily.

“Hello, beautiful,” the Gryffindor greeted him.

“Hi.” Sev answered back. “Is it time to get up?”

“Better – it’s time to open the presents.”

“Oh yeah, it’s Christmas.”

“Mhm.” James drew him closer, kissing his softly on the lips. Sev sighed against him, pressing even closer. The Gryffindors hands trailed down the lean body, over delicate muscles, to cup the other boys buttocks under the covers.

Sev's breath hitched slightly and he moaned softly when James started kneading his backside. A small smile appeared on his face as he felt a searching finger nearing his entrance. A shudder passed through his body, when James bit his earlobe lightly. His own hand sneaked down towards the other boys growing erection.

Suddenly the curtain around their bed was pushed open by Sirius yelling “Wake up, guys!”

Severus, startled, threw his arms around James’ neck, hiding his face in it, while James wrapped his arms around him in a protective manner, looking with wide eyes at the other Gryffindor.

“I... think I interrupted something,” the dog-animagus muttered sheepishly.

“You don’t know the word ‘privacy’, do you?” James asked with an angry glare, pulling the blanket up to Sev's shoulders, hiding the marking on his back from view.

“Sorry, but it’s time for- are you naked?”

“You are! Why woul- oooh... sorry, I’ll go now.”

“Idiot. We’ve already finished.” James smirked as Sev blushed. “And guess what I learned?”

“Sevvie’s ticklish.”

An evil glint appeared in Sirius’ eye. “Oh, really?”

“That’s right.” James grinned. “And I promised him a tickle-session today.”

“You did? Amazing! Would you mind if I joined?”

“Of course not, my dear Padfoot!” James evil way of thought ended, when he noticed Sev was inching away from him with apprehensive eyes. “But not now,” he added soothingly. “Now we’re gonna get dressed, and open presents. Later we’ll go to breakfast.”

Severus smiled at him in a silent thank you.

“No tickle?” Padfoot whined.

“Go tickle Remy.”

“Hey, Remus!” Sirius called, walking away. “Get ready, cute boy’s coming!”

James chuckled and gathered the Slytherin into his arms. “If you don’t like it, we won’t tickle you.”

“It’s not that I don’t like it.”

“Then what?”

“Well... my father has the opinion that joyful laughter is indignant. He always beat me up if I laughed.”

“We won’t hit you.”

“I know it’s just...” a sigh “I learned not to laugh.”

“You laugh with us.”

“True, but-”

“How about we tickle you after eating, and if you hate it, we won’t do it again.”

“... okay.”

“Great.” James pecked him on the lips, then moved towards their trunks to get their clothes. “Now get dressed. We’ve got presents to give and receive.”

“Yes, sir.”

All dressed, the occupants of the room gathered around the Christmas tree situated in the corner. A big pile of warmly wrapped presents peaked from underneath.

“So... who’ll do the honours?” Sirius asked, eyeing the boxes, trying to locate the ones with his name on them.

“I’ll do it.” Remus offered, kneeling in front off the tree. He took the first box to his left. “This one’s for James.”

“This one’s for Sev.”

“Yup. And envelope for Siri.”

“From my family no doubt.”

Soon, all packages were delivered to their rightful owners, and the boys started the hard work of tearing the wrapping paper off.

“Hey, guys, listen to this!” Sirius laughed, waving the letter from his family in the air.

“ ‘Sirius,

the shame of you being in Gryffindor haunts us to this day. We hope that you will fix that blasted hats mistake by being loyal to our beliefs. Also, if you don’t get top marks on you N.E.W.T.S. we’ll disown you.

Your Parents’

Ain’t it precious they think of me?” the animagus grinned.

“Is it me or are you glad you shame them?” James raised an eyebrow at him.

“I am. This is the best Christmas present they ever sent me!”

“I’m so happy for you.” James turned to his lover, who was currently sitting surrounded by a couple of presents, obviously not knowing what to do with them. “Why don’t you open them?”

“... this is the most I’ve ever gotten.” Sev whispered, awe in his eyes as he gazed at the boxes.

“Why don’t you open this one first?” James handed him one.

Severus gingerly unwrapped it, revealing two framed pictures, one was of all the Marauders surrounding the uncertain-looking Slytherin, grinning and laughing at the camera. The second one consisted of James and Severus - the Slytherin was smiling shyly at the Gryffindor, while the other boy had his arm around Sev's shoulders.

The long haired boy stared at the pictures, tears welling in his eyes.

“Don’t cry, Sev.” Sirius said softly, taking the photos from the pale hands and putting them aside. “You don’t like it?”

“It’s great.” Severus muttered, wiping at his eyes.

“That’s good,” the dog animagus ruffled the black hair. “They’re from me, by the way.”

“Thank you, Sirius.” Sev smiled that gentle smile of his, looking lovable and absolutely adorable. Padfoot now understood why James loved this Slytherin – he was too cute for his own good. “Don’t move. Remus, where’s my camera?”

“I smashed it on the wall after you tried to take nude pictures of me.”

“Damn. You can move now,” he crossed his arms, pouting at his lover. “That would’ve made a great picture.”

“So? You deserved to have the bloody thing destroyed.”

“Oh, stop!” Remus looked at the Slytherin, who was trying to open the tube-shaped present. He took it from him. “This is for last, okay?”

“Here,” he handed him another one. “Try this one now.”

“Whoever bought me this is gonna regret it!” Sirius exclaimed suddenly. Sev looked up at him – the animagus was holding the book he got him.

“I know,” he agreed, tearing the paper of his own present, which turned out to be also a book. “ ‘One hundred ways to kick someone’s ass – a guide to self defence’.” he read.

“You like it?” Remus asked, pausing in reading the poems Sev got him.

“It’s... very practical,” the Slytherin answered with a smile. “but I don’t think I’ll be able to kick someone’s ass.”

“Sure you will!” James rubbed his shoulder. “You have talent for it. You just need to practise.”

“You can do it on Sirius.”

“Thank you, Remus.” Sev smiled, ignoring the indignant animagus.

“You’re welcome.” The werewolf smiled back. “And thank you again for the wonderful book.”

“THIS ONE’S GREAT! I’ll do it on Filch!”

“And damn you for that one.” he added.

Sev chuckled softly.

“Alright, now it’s my turn.” James scooted closer, hands hiding something behind his back. “Close your eyes, and give me your hand.”

Sev did as told. He could feel something being slipped onto a finger in his left hand. He wondered what it could be. Finally James told him to take a look.

A ring. A silver band with the intertwined letters ‘J’ and ‘S’ carved in it. It felt perfect against his skin.

“You like it?” James asked, worried slightly when Sev wasn’t saying anything. “I’ve got a similar one, so others would see that we’re taken and no one would try to steal you away.” Still no answer. “Sev? You don’t like it?”

The Slytherin looked up at him, then leaned forward so he was pressed against the bespectacled boys chest. “Thank you,” he whispered.

“You’re welcome.”

“Can we do it tonight?”

“... you don’t have to thank me like that.”

“I like you inside me.”

“Okay, then.”

“A little childish, but this would be great to do to McGonagall!” Sirius grinned at his lover. “Don’t you think so, Remy?”

“If I see that, I’ll rip my eyes out.”

“Aww, don’t be like that! Hey, Sev, how about you? Fancy seeing McGone in a pink twirly bikini that won’t disappear for two days?”

“That would surely destroy what I have left of my sanity.”

Sev chuckled and nuzzled James’ chest. He felt the other boys arm wrap around his waist. With each day the happiness inside his heart was growing, and he had a feeling it would explode one day from all the emotions. He should be worried, the Slytherin side told him, but, to put it simple, he was too damn happy to care. At least he would enjoy that kind of death.

“You’re not done with the presents yet, Sev.” His lover smiled at him, then picked up the largest box. “Now this one.” He set it before the Slytherin, whose eyes widened when the package moved. Gingerly, he took of the lid and peered inside. His eyes met a tiny ball of black fur, that was looking right back at him. He reached inside, and it licked his hand.

“A kitten.” Sev smiled, cuddling the small creature in his arms. “It’s so adorable.”

“His name’s Mauy.”

“His beautiful!”

“We’re glad you like it. Mauy’s from us all.”

“Thank you. This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had.”

“One last present.” Remus picked up the tube shaped present and unwrapped it, revealing a scroll. He cleared his throat and started to read.

“ ‘We, Monsieur Padfoot, Prongs and Moony, hereby grant Monsieur Severus Snape the privilege of being a fully-approved member of ‘the Marauders’. We give thy the name ‘BlackClaw’, and give our words of honour that we shall tutor you in the divine art of animagusy.

May your pranks be as strong as you.

Padfoot, Prongs and Moony’ ”

Remus closed the scroll and handed it to a staring in shock Severus. “You’re officially part of the gang.”

“What do you say, BlackClaw?” Sirius asked.

After a moment of silence, the Slytherin muttered “I say we do the bikini one on Malfoy.” Tears once again welling in his eyes.

“Spoken like a true Marauder!” James exclaimed, hugging Sev tightly, “After the Holidays we’ll start teaching you how to transform.”

“Cool.” Sev smiled, allowing his lover to wipe the tears away.

“You’ll be a great cat.”

“How do you know I’ll be a cat?”

“We’re the Marauders! We know everything!”

“Of course you do, Sirius.” Remus patted his head.

“Hey, I know a lot of things!”

“Where to touch to make you scream.”

“And I know how to do you to make you faint.”

“... that you do know.”

“Ignore them, Sev. You’ll get used to them.”

“If you say so.”

A loud growl sounded in the room.

“What was that?”

“My stomach.” was Sirius’ sheepish answer. “I’m hungry.

“Well then, let’s go eat.”

Sirius was laying on his bed, groaning as he rubbed his belly. “Food... good...”

Sev chuckled, and Remus rolled his eyes. “You shouldn’t’ve eaten so much. I thought you’d swallow the whole bowl.”

“My fault I like muffins?”

“Your fault you ate like a pig.”

“I did not, right James?”

The bespectacled boy didn’t answer, too lost in his thoughts to hear the others. He had noticed at breakfast the strange way Lily was looking at Sev. It gave him the creeps. He had a real bad feeling about her.

“James?” he looked down to the snuggled to his side boy. “Is everything alright?”

“Of course.” He rubbed the pale arm reassuringly, and felt little teeth sinking into his skin. He yelped, sitting up with the kitten dangling from his hand. He shook it roughly. “Let go, you fucking little-!”

“James, you’ll hurt it!” Sev stopped his lovers hand, and took hold of the little creature, which immediately let go of his catch, miau-ing at the Slytherin. “He just wants to play.”

“I think he’s jealous.” Remus commented from his bed.

James glared at the animal. “I bought you, so show some respect!”

The cat hissed at him, so he threatened him with a fist. “Just you wait, one paw on my territory, and I’ll show you who’s boss!”

“James... are you fighting over me... with a cat?”

The Gryffindor blinked. “I think I am.”

The Slytherin laughed softly and leaned in for a kiss. “My hero...”

James grabbed the kitten (which was getting its tiny claws ready for attack), and threw it onto the floor. It landed safely on its paws. “Now that he’s out of the way...” he pulled the other boy in for a deep kiss. As their tongues tangled, James run his hands down the Slytherins sides, making him giggle, and pull away. “Don’t.”

James grinned wickedly. “Oh, yeah. Tickles.”

“Don’t you dare.”

“Sirius, tickle!” James called, then added in a whisper. “Just try it once, okay? We won’t hurt you.”

Before Sev could answer, Sirius grabbed his arms, pulling them over his head and pinning him to the bed. “Don’t be scared, Sev.” He smiled at him. “You’ll enjoy this.”

Severus gulped nervously.

James started tickling, using his fingertips to gently stimulate the delicate skin. Sev writhed, trying to hold the bubbling laughter inside his chest.

“Let it out, Sev.” Sirius encouraged him, and the Slytherin gave up, bursting with laughs.

“Stop, stop, no more!” he called out with the forced smile, the Gryffindors didn’t listen though.

Tears went down the Slytherins cheeks as he laughed, his abdomen aching slightly. He didn’t know exactly when the forced laughter became real. The torturous writhing of his body turned into playing with friends. He still screamed for them to stop, but it was now a part of the game. It was fun.

The fun stopped, when an angry voice yelled from the door. “WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS??!!”

All four heads snapped towards that voice, and paled. In the doorway stood a very pissed off looking McGonagall.

Severus paled, looking with terrified eyes at the teacher. He mentally prayed to every god possible not to be taken back.

“Let him go, both of you!” McGonagall said sternly, striding into the room. The Slytherin felt the warm hands leave his body, and he had to fight down the urge to hide in James’ comforting embrace.

“See, Professor?” Lily’s head appeared in the doorway, a malicious smile on her face. “I told you they were hiding him in here.”

“Get over here, Mr Snape.” McGonagall hissed, and as soon as Severus was within her reach, she grabbed the Slytherins arm painfully and pulled him to her. “Ten points from Gryffindor from each one of you. And fifty points from Slytherin.” She practically hauled the pale boy out of the room.

“Professor, let me explain,” Remus took a step towards the witch, but her voice stopped his movements.

“There is nothing to explain! You stay here while I escort Mr Snape to his dormitory.”

“NO!” the Marauders threw themselves at the door, but their teacher was faster. In the blink of an eye she had the door locked and warded.

All three boys tried to get the wards down. When that didn’t work, they tried to break the door off its hinges. But alas, their tries were fruitless.

“Just punishment.” McGonagall said the password to the Slytherin Dormitory. Severus thought it was truly ironic, but didn’t comment on it. He also noticed absently that the professors grip on his arm would most probably leave marks, but it didn’t matter either. The horrors that awaited him on the other side of that painting were sure to leave him with a lot more than a few bruises. That is *if* he somehow managed to survive the night.

With the entrance standing open, the Transfiguration professor pushed the pale boy inside. “If I ever again find you anywhere near my dormitory, I’ll personally see that you regret it.” She said with a lip turned in disgust, and left, the portrait sliding shut behind her.

“Well, well, well.” Lucius’ voice sounded from his left. “Look who finally decided to join us.”

Severus held his head high, his gaze fixed on the far wall.

“I do believe our favourite toy missed us, Lucius.” Evan Rosier smiled smugly.

“That Gryffindor scum couldn’t satisfy you, huh?”

“Of course not.” Macnair joined the conversation. “He’s such a slut one man can’t satisfy him, no matter how much one tries.”

‘You’re the sluts.’ Severus answered back in his mind. It was best to stay silent or else he would blurt something out that’ll give them idea’s. And that would be a bad idea.

“Why are you so silent? Don’t you have anything to say to us?”

‘Fuck you.’

“Shouldn’t you say something?”

‘Go die in a ditch.’

“Nothing, eh? Looks like we’ll have to teach you some manners.” Lucius’ voice purred into his ear, and Severus repressed the urge to shudder in fear.

He closed his eyes, an image of James smiling at him flashed before his lids. He would be strong for James. Or at least he’ll try.

But when hands that brought him only pain in the past threw him to the floor, and started ripping off his clothes, he felt his resolve weakening.

McGonagall took her time in walking to the Headmasters office. She gad to think some things through first. Plus, it were the holidays. No students to cause mayhem, no classes to teach. And no classes that would be missed by her unruly Gryffindors. After all, that was most important.

Finally, with her thoughts in order, she gave the password, and ascended the moving staircase towards her employer.

“Ah, Minevra.” Albus smiled warmly at her. “What can I do for you?”

“I would like you to expel a student.” She sat down in front of the older man’s desk.

“Expel? My, my, my. What has this Slytherin done to make you this angry?”

“How do you know I’m talking about a Slytherin?”

“Well, you would not expel any member of the other houses. Now please, what has he done?”

“He sneaked into Gryffindor.”

“Uh huh. Who is it?”

“Severus Snape.”

“Young Snape? I remember seeing him and James Potter on the corridors lately. They seemed good friends.”

“That’s absurd. My Gryffindors would never-”

“Minevra, let me finish. I am just saying maybe the Marauders invited him to their dormitory.”

“Albus, that is not the matter we are discussing. The rules state clearly that the members of one house can not enter other dormitories-”

“-without permission. I am aware of the rules, but I believe we should talk to the boys before expelling anyone. I’m assuming you hadn’t listed to their reasoning?”

“I don’t have to , I know what I saw.”

“And that would be?”

“A Slytherin in the Gryffindor Dormitory!”

“I see.” Albus nodded his head tiredly. “Minevra, I will not expel the boy. A lot of bad is happening in the world, and I will not risk such a smart child turning to the Dark just because he broke one rule.”

“He broke more than just one rule.”

“So did the Marauders, Minevra. You know we really should stop blaming all the evil in the universe on the Slytherins.”

“Now you’re being unreasonable. We do not blame them, they *are* responsible.”

Albus chuckled. “You are one stubborn woman.”

“Thank you. Now about the boy.”

“I’ll give him some detentions.”

“Two months?”

“Minevra. Tree is my final offer.”

“Good. Now how about we drink some tea, ans discuss the latest gossip?”

“Sounds marvellous. I don’t have anything urgent to do.”

Over and over, James slammed his body into the wall, trying to make it open. Sirius was trying too, punching and kicking, while Remus was making up a plan of action.

James felt hot tears of frustration sting his eyes, but he didn’t stop, couldn’t stop, wouldn’t stop! He had to do save Severus, protect him. Through the last couple of months Sev was always at his side, smiling softly. Now the Slytherin was gone, and it was... wrong! And James was gonna make it right again!!

His body hit the door with such force, he heard a crack and searing pain flashed through his shoulder. He gripped it tightly, hissing in agony. He leaned against the door, breathing heavily. He hung his head tiredly and saw Mauy sitting on his back paws, scratching at the door.

A mad like chuckle left him, as he turned to his friends. “Hey guys, look. Mauy wants Sev back too.” Still wearing that broken smile, he walked away from the door, then transformed into a stag and charged head first at the door, his antlers jingling at the impact. Again, he took a step back and hit the stubborn wood with all his strength. He glanced down at a loud clatter, and saw one of his big horns on the ground. With a growl that shouldn’t’ve been emitted out of a deer, he turned around and started kicking the door with his strong back legs. He would get the door opened even if it killed him. His whole body throbbed with pain, especially his head. The animal within mourned the lost antler, but James ignored it. He had to save Severus first.

A hand gripped his remaining appendage, and pulled his forward, a voice yelling his name into his ear.

He changed back in a split of a second. “What?!” he spat, glaring at his best friend.

“Calm down!! You’ll hurt yourself.” Sirius said, worried to death about his friends strange behaviour.

“I don’t care!”

“You almost killed Mauy.” Remus added, the kitten cradled in his arms. “If he hadn’t jumped out of the way, he would be a pancake.”

“Sorry, but I have to help Sev! You obviously don’t care about what will happen to him!”

“We don’t care?” Remus repeated, his disbelief evident. “We don’t care?! Just because I’m not trying to brake my neck doesn’t mean that I don’t care! Sev’s my friend too, you jackass!” he thrust the kitten into the bespectacled boys hands, and stalked towards the door, which would shudder if it could. “Sev’s also a member of my pack.” With a blood-freezing growl and a powerful punch a big hole was created in the wood. “And a werewolf is stronger than a stag, especially this close to the full moon.” A kick joined the next punch, and the hole widened. Now it was large enough for the three boys to squeeze through. “You coming?”

He didn’t have to say it twice.

Severus’ fists were clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white. He was biting his lower lip to keep himself from crying out, blood trickling down his chin.

“Why aren’t you making your pretty sounds, Severus?” the guy currently raping him asked into his ear. “We all wanna hear them.”

‘Fuck you!’

“Avery, let him go.” Lucius ordered angrily. “This whore is broken. It won’t obey.”

‘You can bet your fat ass I won’t!’

“I wonder why? We took him, beat him up, and even whipped him. He should be at least whimpering.”

‘I’ll be strong for James. Only he’s allowed to hear me now.’

Lucius was silent for a while, then smirked. “I know how to make him scream.” He picked up a poker and thrust it into the blazing fire. “Spread his legs and get the popcorn, boys. This is gonna be fun.”

‘James, help!’

James was running faster than he ever run before. He passed a few students, and knocked down quite a bit more. He was absently aware of his friends following after him, but he couldn’t care less. It never occurred to him how far it was from the Gryffindor Tower to the Slytherin Dungeon. Will this hallway never end?!

After what seemed entirely too long a time, James finally reached the portrait to the Slytherin Dorm.

“Password!” the man on the canvas barked at him.

“I don’t know it, but-”

“No password, no entry!”

“But my friend’s being tortured in there!”

“No password, no entry!”

A strong hand fell on James’ shoulder, quieting his further attempts. “We don’t have time for this.” Remus growled into his ear. He walked past him, his stance threatening. “You know what I am?” he asked, his voice low.

The man’s lip curled in disgust. “I do, you vile creature.”

“If you don’t let us in, I will rip you to tiny pieces, before even you can jump into another picture.”

“You wouldn’t dare. The Headmaste-”

“Won’t believe you. I am one of his Golden Gryffindors, after all.”

“Now.” Remus grasped the frame in both hands, squeezing till it broke and scrunched under his skin. “You opening or should I start ripping?”

The man stared from one seemingly fragile hand to the other, no doubt imagining what unpleasant things those hands could do. “I’ll open, just let me go.”

Remus did, and the painting swung open, the entryway standing open.

As the three moved inside, they could hear a rather big bunch of Slytherins laughing their asses off. Remus additionally smelt blood and tears, but he didn’t voice his findings. They needed to stay calm.

The small hall ended, and the boys stepped into what had to be the Slytherin Common Room. The laughing students stood in a circle, the person they were gathered around hidden by their bodies. Only they didn’t need to see to know who it was.

James tried to run forward, but Remus’ grip on his arm stopped him.

“Calm down.” The werewolf hissed. “They’ll kill you if you just throw yourself at them.”

“Then what do you suggest I do?” James hissed back.

“You’re a bloody wizard. Use that.”

“Right. Avada them all.”

“No, you idiot. Just stun them. For now.”

The three of them readied their wands, moving slowly closer to the Slytherins. They aimed, and yelled as one. “Stupefy!”

The wall of bullies fell, revealing a naked Severus laying on the ground, and Evan Rosier bent over him. Lucius Malfoy stood over them, holding a bloodied poker in his hand, and staring with wide eyes at the intruding boys, just like the rest of the standing Slytherins.

Neither was sure who yelled “Get them!” but in an instant the three Gryffindors were swapping curses and hexes with the cruel teens. They were forced to back into the small hallway, while the spells smashed into the wall behind them.

“Alright.” Remus muttered, brows furrowed in annoyance. “There’s more of them than we thought.”

“Ten Galleons for a Gryffindor!!”

“Great.” Sirius mumbled. “Now what do we do? The only safe way to go is out.”

“I’ll cast the strongest spell to stun them, you-” he pointed at Sirius “Grab Sev, and get him to the Infirmary as fast as you can.”

“I’ll cast a shield to help.” James lifted his wand, crawling closer to the end of their hiding place.

“Alright.” Remus nodded. “Get ready.”

“On three.” James whispered.

“THREE!!” Sirius yelled, springing forward towards the wounded Slytherin, Remus’ yell of “Petrificus Totalus!” and James’ smoke spell helping get to him fast and more or less unnoticed.

He quickly covered the bloody mess of body with his school robe, lifted him into his arms with surprisingly little effort, and sprinted out of the Slytherin Dormitory, James and Remus staying behind to insure their safety on the way.

“Albus!” Poppy Pomfreys head appearing in the Headmasters study startled the old man into dropping the candy cane he was munching on.

“Poppy.” Dumbledore turned to his nurse, wondering what could have caused that frantic yell. “What’s the matter?”

“You have to come to the Infirmary immediately.”

“Alright, but can I know what happened first?”

“Remember the rumour about the Toy?”

“Ah, yes. A Slytherin that is a prostitute to all the other boys of his House, not of his free will. That is one of the most absurd rumours in the school. I would have most certainly noticed if something like tha-”

“It’s true.”

“It’s true. I have a boy here with signs of long time abuse.”

“Are you sure it didn’t happen at the child’s home?”

“The last time he was tortured happened ten minute before he was brought to me.”

“I’ll be right there.”

James sat on one of the beds in the Infirmary, listening to Madam Pomfrey list Severus’ injuries to the Headmaster in her office. With each word he wanted more and more to slap McGonagall on her wrinkled, biased face. Sev didn’t deserve any of those wounds.

He got up, and made his way towards the only bed in the Hospital Wing currently hidden by a screen.

He sat down next to the still figure, gently slipping one hand under the pale cheek, rubbing his thumb softly over the skin.

The Slytherin moaned quietly, nuzzling the palm sleepily. The deep black eyes opened slowly, blinking at the Gryffindors face.

“James?” he asked, his voice slightly hoarse.

“Yeah.” the bespectacled teen answered, his lips curling into a tired smile.

“Knew you’d come.” Sev smiled back.

“I’d never leave you.” James kissed his forehead gently, mindful of the still healing skin. “Now sleep.”

Sev obediently closed his eyes, sleep claiming him almost immediately.

James slipped his hand lower, under the thin shoulders, Severus’ head rolling to rest at the crook of his arm. James pressed his cheek to the semi-long hair, and closed his own eyes, following his lover to the land of dreams.

Severus woke up wrapped in strong loving arms, and with James’ face so close to his own. He smiled, and on an impulse, darted his tongue out and swiped it over the Gryffindors nose briefly.

James jerked awake instantly, staring with startled eyes at him. His gaze softened when Sev laughed softly at his expression and snuggled closer to him.

“Hey,” he kissed the pale forehead tenderly. “How are you feeling?”

“Numb? You want me to call Madam Pomfrey?”

“No, I’m supposed to be numb. The painkiller works that way.”

“Oh. Okay then.” James fell silent, just holding his lover close.

They stayed like that for sometime, just laying next to each other, their hands clasped together. They didn’t move from their positions even when the other two Marauders appeared, carrying a chess board.

“Oy, Sev, you up for a game?” Sirius offered, smiling at the Slytherin. There was nothing that could cheer the undefeated boy like a good victory.

“Sure.” Severus smiled weakly a him, and allowed James to help him sit up, while Sirius set the board on the bed. “I’m always up to kicking you hide.”

The Headmaster of Hogwarts slowly made his way back to the Infirmary. He had not been able to contact the boys father, so he was forced to write an owl instead. Writing what the man’s son has been through was rather difficult. After all, it was harder to judge the man’s reaction when he wasn’t with him. Maybe at least he’ll have time to talk to the boy before his father arrived.

“Checkmate,” Severus stated, smirking smugly at the animagus.

“Again?!” Sirius groaned, throwing his head back in exasperation. “This is too much!”

“I agree. Six times in a row.” James smiled proudly , kissing the Slytherins cheek. “Now pay up.”

“Put it on my bill.” Sirius muttered, absently scratching the slight burn on his cheek from one of the hexes recently thrown at him.

“Any more and you won’t be able to pay.” Remus caught his hand, and forced it away from the wound. “Don’t scratch or it won’t heal.”

“I’ll take a loan.” Sirius ignored him, but intertwined their fingers together.

“You won’t be able to pay *that* back.”

“I’ll take another loan.”

“And thus the vicious circle tightens itself.” Severus chuckled.

“Hardy har har.”

All four heads snapped to the source of that voice, their gazes landing on Albus Dumbledore himself.

“Please go to your dorm. I need to talk with Mr. Snape.”

The three boys reluctantly got up, James hugging the Slytherin briefly before letting go.

“Can I come back later?” he asked, still holding the pale teens hand.

Dumbledore tried to ignore the obvious show of affection. “Not any time soon. In the evening maybe.”

“Okay.” James released the long fingers, laying the hand gently on the covers. “I’ll come back before you know it,” he whispered, planting a soft kiss on his lovers lips.

Dumbledore seated himself next to the bed.

“May I call you Severus?” he asked politely.

“Sure.” Was his answer, followed by a shrug of thin shoulders.

“Alright then, Severus. I would like you to tell me who did this?”

“Did what?”

“Severus. Please tell me who did this.”

“There’s nothing to tell.”

“You have been seriously hurt. I need to know.”

“So I can punish them.”

“And if I tell you they were Gryffindors will you still be so keen on doing that?”

The Headmaster was silent for a moment, knowing full well what the boy meant. “I don’t care in which House they’re in. I will punish them.”

“That is for me to decide.”

‘A few detentions I bet,’ Sev thought bitterly, looking away.

In the next half-hour Dumbledore repeated the request to name his torturers, and Severus remained stubbornly silent. After finding all of his attempts a failure, the Headmaster decide to do what he had to to get the answer – look inside the boys mind with Legilimens.

What he saw shocked him. For six long years he has been blind to this boys suffering. He failed to notice this kind of abuse. One particular memory gave him nausea – the boy was suicidal. Would he have known the boys story if he had succeeded?

He retreated from the tortured mind, his face white as the walls surrounding them. He now had a list of names much longer than he ever feared possible.

“You didn’t ask for permission.” Severus mumbled, aware of what occurred

“Severus… sweet Merlin, I am so sorry…”

“It’s not your fault. It’s not like you did anything to me. You’re just too biased to see anything past the goodness of the Gryffindors.”

The cruel words hurt the old man deeply, but he couldn’t bring himself to disagree.

“SEVERUS!!” an angry looking man stormed into the Infirmary, heading directly towards the ill boy.

“Father…” Dumbledore was surprised at the sound of his students voice. It sounded small… and terrified.

He got up with the intention of calming the enraged parent, but the other man stalked past him, throwing a powerful punch at the boys face, the force of it throwing the man’s son to the floor.

Reacting immediately, Dumbledore pressed his wand to the side of Snape Senior's neck. “Move away from him,” he hissed.

“This piece of shit is mine, and I can do with him what I damn well please!”

Never in his life had the Headmaster heard any parent speak that way about ones children. This man didn’t deserve a child. “Get out!”

“Oh, I will. But first I’m pulling this little whore from this fucked up school. I’ll teach him not to shame me ever again.”

“I won’t allow you to do that.” Dumbledore was more than sure the boy would be injured, most probably fatally, if he gave him up to his father. He couldn’t allow himself to fail this boy again.

“This brat belongs to me.”

“Not any more Now get out before I hex you!” the Headmaster was more than ready to do exactly that right that instant, but then the man wouldn’t be able to follow the older wizards demand.

The older Snape seemed to consider his chances against the legendary Albus Dumbledore, and obviously found them close to nothing, because he snorted with disgust at his son, who lay motionless on the floor, petrified with fear, and turned to leave.

“This isn’t over. No one will help you in keeping this slut from me,” he stated hatefully, and finally left.

Dumbledore waited for the man to be outside the doors before re-pocketing his wand, and moving to the still student.

“Let me help you up, dear boy,” He easily lifted the too-light body back onto the bed, covering the now shaking boy with a warm blanket. “Is he the reason you didn’t come to me with this?” he asked, using his own magic to heal the bruise forming around one coal-dark eye.

“Yes…” Severus answered, his voice still sounding scared.

Dumbledore wondered silently what that man has done to his student to make him prefer constant rapes and tortures than asking for help. One thing was sure for the adult – he would make sure this Slytherin never went back to his home manor.

“You rest now,” the Headmaster sat himself back on the chair, gazing sadly at the youth, and patting one knee in what he hoped would be a comforting gesture. “I’ll stay here in case he comes back.”

And, surprisingly, the Slytherin obeyed.

Severus blinked, his surprise bordering on shock. “Wha-?”

The Headmaster smiled at him, and patted his hand. “I believe that is the right thing to do, my boy. Also, it will keep you away from your father. Wouldn't you like that?”

“I would, but- but I don't think you should do this kind of thing for me – a Slytherin.”

“Nonsense, dear boy. This is the best solution. Trust me.”

Severus looked sceptical, but nonetheless nodded. “Alright. I agree.”

“Very good, my child.”

“James, you really need to stop this.” Remus muttered, glancing worriedly at his friend.

“Stop what?” the bespectacled boy asked, not changing his position – sitting slumped at the Gryffindor table, and staring blankly into space. Or more exactly at the almost empty Slytherin table. Practically every guy from that House was expelled shortly after Severus' horrors were discovered, and the school population was slowly getting used to the changes.

It has been almost a week since that horrid day, and two days since James noticed Severus' absence from the Infirmary. “I've released that poor boy.” was all Madam Pomfrey said, refusing to answer any other question that left James' mouth. And there was a lot.

“At least eat something for Merlin's sake!” Remus exclaimed, practically thrusting a full bowl into his friend's face.

Sirius nodded his agreement, already piling food onto the Seeker's plate. “You need to eat, buddy.” When James ignored them both, he added. “Don't you think Sev will be upset if you die of starvation?”

James sighed, and reached for the fork. “You win. But I'm not gonna enjoy this.” he muttered.

“Don't worry. I'm sure he's fine.” Remus tried to be reassuring.

James made a throaty sound, head bowed as he chewed slowly.

“I agree with Moony, Prongs. It's not like Dumbledore would give him up to his father.” Sirius nodded, smirking as he patted James' back. His expression fell when he turned to the werewolf. “Right?”

As if on cue, the doors to the Great Hall slammed open, and an enraged Tobias Snape entered the room.

“Dumbledore!” he bellowed, shaking a piece of paper angrily. “What the fuck is the meaning of this?!”

The Headmaster rose from his chair, and calmly walked towards the man. “Let's talk outside. We wouldn't want to startle the children.”

“I don't give a damn about those brats!!” the man once again shook the sheet at the Headmaster. “You can't do this.”

“I can, and I did.” the old man grasped the man by the elbow, and with surprising strength led him outside.

The Marauders glanced at each other, and followed discreetly.

“You must be stark raving mad if you think I'll allow this to happen.” the older Snape seethed, glaring hatefully at the other.

“You have absolutely no say in this.” came the calm reply, and he practically growled.

“This is my son. I own him!”

“Correction – that was your son. You have no predispositions to be a father of a rock, so I took certain steps to keep the boy safe.”

“You can't take him from me.”

“He has already been adopted. You no longer have any rights concerning Severus, and if you hadn't read the whole document, you will be placed in Azkaban if you even come near him.” the Headmaster finished, eyes cold and hard. “Now leave.”

Snape took a step back, trying not to show his intimidating enemy he's won this battle. “I will fight for him.”

“Go right ahead. It won't do you any good.”

The Headmaster stayed unmoving, watching the Main Entrance door for long minutes after the man had left, as if unsure the man was truly gone.

He sighed heavily after a moment of vigilance, rubbing a hand over his face tiredly. His features melted into his kind calm smile and turned on his heel, returning to the Great Hall. He never noticed three figures hiding in the shadows.

James watched his feet as he walked through the empty corridors. He had parted with his friends a few minutes ago, and was currently trying to sort things out in his mind by taking a stroll. Wasn't working so far.

He wondered what kind of a wizard adopted his lover. Was he a good person? Would he earn Sev's trust? He hoped Sev would be happy in his new home.

He stopped briefly to rub his clenched fist over his eyes, mindful of the glasses, and continued. He had wanted to form a home with Sev, he really did, but if Sev could find happiness elsewhere, he would be still glad. James knew little people who deserved happiness as much as the Slytherin. Hell, he didn't know anyone who deserved it as much as Sev did.

A voice he came to hate broke him out of his thoughts.

“What are you doing here, Potter?”

He lifted his head, and glared coldly at the reason it all fell apart.

“Fuck off, Evans.” he growled, attempting to walk past the little bitch, and failing when she stepped in his path.

“Five points from Gryffindor for foul language.” she said, flashing him her prefect badge and a superior smirk. “And you should feel lucky I only took five.”

“You know, I consider it a miracle we hadn't lost all out points for that idiotic stunt you pulled.” she drawled, and James realized with a start she meant Severus. “I expected Gryffindor to be on minus points for that.”

His fists clenched and he bit his lips as fury escalated in his chest.

“How could you be that stupid, anyway? Did you really think you'd manage to hide 'the greasy git' in your room forever? I expected you to have at least some brains, but thank you for proving me wrong.”

“You're welcome.” James hissed, the words forced through his teeth.

She eyed his thoughtfully, then smirked smugly. “You should thank me for freeing you from that snake. I heard the rumour that he spread his legs for the Marauders in exchange for being allowed to follow you around.” James' eyes widened in shock at that. “I guess it's true, judging from your reaction.” she slowly moved past him. “He's ugly as Hell, so I bet he was really good.”

James' vision turned red before she finished the last word, and he grabbed her arm brutally, slamming her against the wall. He loomed over her, a part of him rejoicing in her terrified expression.

“If you say *one* more word about Severus, I will not be held responsible for what I'll do to you.” With that said, he pushed away from the girl, and walked away.

“Boys, I would like to have a word with you.” McGonagall called to the three Marauders. Sirius and Remus stopped and turned to her, but James ignored the professor, and continued walking.

“Mr. Potter!” she called after him a few times, all left ignored.

“I believe your Head of House is calling you, Mr. Potter.” an elderly voice noticed, and James turned to look at the Headmaster.

“I don't care, sir.” he muttered angrily, glaring at the animagi-teacher as she caught up to them, Sirius and Remus in tow.

“Mr. Potter, when I call you I expect you to come to me.”

“And I expected you to be understanding, not biased as Hell.”

“Mr. Potter, please.” she seemed pained, and James felt slight satisfaction. It was her fault Sev got hurt, after all – she deserved the guilt.

“Mr. Potter, professor McGonagall is still your teacher, and thus you will show her proper respect.” Dumbledore said sternly, then smiled at the Head of House. “Have you told them yet, Minerva?”

“I was just about to, Headmaster.”

“I think I'll assist you then.” That said, the old wizard turned to the three students. “As of today you are going to share your dorm room with a new student.”

“He is getting settled in right now, and I want you three to be nice to him.”

“Wait! What about Severus?!” James exclaimed. He had hoped that empty bed would be Sev's when he came back.

“Severus Snape is no longer enrolled in our school.”

James' jaw dropped, along with Sirius' and Remus', shock obvious on all three faces. They were speechless long enough for the two adults to leave.

One thought kept circling through the bespectacled Gryffindor's head. 'Does this mean I won't see Sev ever again?'

The door opened slowly, Sirius' head peering inside. “I don't see him.” he whispered to the other two. “Maybe Mauy ate him...” He stepped in tentatively, looking around all the time. “Moony, you smell him?”

“There was at least five people in here, it's hard to decipher one particular smell.” the werewolf explained, following the animagus' example. “James, come on.”

The bespectacled teen grumbled, and walked inside, kicking the door closed behind him. He nearly growled when a silencing charm blocked out the resulting bang. Of course they wouldn't want to disturb the precious newbie, who took Sev's place on the student list. Who'd dare to do such a gruesome thing? James would.

“Where is he?”

Remus finally caught sight of their new room-mate. “Sleeping.”

James glanced at Peter's old bed, the only unoccupied one in the room. “I don't see him. Where is he?”

“In your bed.” Remus said softly, and moved to stand next to Sirius.

James chuckled ironically, then walked over to his bed. Only a few strands of hair were visible from under the covers, the lump underneath lifting and dropping rhythmically as the other breathed.

James grabbed the lump, and shook it, not caring if he was holding a head or a shoulder.

“Wake up!” he said in his most intimidating voice. “If you think I'll be nice to you just because you're the new guy, you've got another thing coming to you. Get your ass out of my bed now!”

The boy under the covers moved, sitting up slowly. “I thought it was our bed.” a familiar voice answered.

James blinked. It couldn't be...

His hand shot out, and yanked the covers down, exposing the other's face.

“Sev...” his voice was strangled as he stared at his lover, then jumped onto the bed, hugging him tightly. “But- they said you're not a student here any more”

“Well...” the long-haired boy smirked mischievously, releasing Mauy from his arms, and laying him on the pillow. “I got adopted, and my last name's changed. Severus Snape doesn't exist any more”

James chuckled softly. “Wise ass buggers. Who adopted you?”

Severus seemed to be embarrassed about the answer. “Promise you won't laugh?”

“We solemnly swear.” all three boys said in unison

James stared incredulously at the other boy, and Sev frowned. “It was his idea. He said it would be the best way to keep me safe and sound. He even transferred me to Gryffindor.”

Remus blinked. “So that means-”

“I'm here to stay.” the ex-Slytherin smiled, then practically melted when James kissed him deeply.

“I missed you.” the bespectacled teen muttered, when they broke apart, kissing the top of the black head lovingly.

Severus lifted his head, and whispered something into James' ear, that made the other teen break out into a huge grin, and hug his lover tightly, laughing joyfully at the same time.

The other two Marauders joined him in the laughter, with Sirius shouting. “Clawy's back!” and both run up to welcome the teen back.
