Spike/Dumbledore? For all the squick I can actually see that. Albus is the sort of kind soul who would have been kind to the sort of pathetic case William (Spike) was before he was turned & frankly, William *was* a loser! He didn't really cut loose until he was turned (or so I believe). Albus could have seen this young man everyone puts down & taken him under his wing. As for Snape, well it's possible that Spike could have been in England during Snape's teens but your point about the likelyhood of him not turning or just outright killing Snape is point. Even being a wizard would not have greatly helped Snape prevent Spike trying something because Snape would still have been underage at the time. Of course there may have been other reasons why Spike would not imediately turn a wizard but I can't think of them.

Well Spike might not have been helping in the fight with the Death Eaters, Buffy may have handled the whole thing!

I have been thinking my way through how the two worlds of BtYS & HP could be reconciled with each other & found myself wondering about the Watcher Council (the ones who keep an eye on Slayers, the ones Giles worked for). They could have had a ute ute with the MoM some time back in history & broke away from normal Wizarding society. Probably a dispute about keeping things secret from muggles. The Watcher Council then basicly hid in the muggle world & did it's own thing independant of the Wizarding world.

On the other hand the Watcher council may be a semi-independant branch of the MoM that specificly keeps an eye on odd things happening in the muggle world.

Either way, the Council may be in the business of picking up magically adept who fall through the cracks - those who's magic doesn't develop before they turn 10 or 11 (the usual pick-up age for Hogwarts). Watchers may be wizards & witches who developed too late for Hogwarts.

On the subject of Spike, he obviously knows about the Wizarding world. I'm curious to know how. Was he (before being turned) a muggle? A wizard? A Squib? I'd be inclined to say muggle or Squib personally.
BTW, don't take Spike's hair colour as absolute proof that, if he had family in the Wizarding world, that he's related to the Malfoys. I remember an episode that had alot of flashbacks about Spike's personal history, his hair was darker naturally, more of a honey blond, he must have bleached it at some stage before the incident when he killed his Slayer because in that bit he frankly looked like he was imitating Billy Idol.

Okay, I'll stop knocking you 'round the head with my ideas. I really would love to moremore of this fic, it looks good & frankly I want to see Willow call Snape 'Mr. Cranky-pants'!!!! Update soon oki?

I wonder why Spike knows about Hogwarts? I wonder why he doesn't like it?
I've read another fic that had a brief cameo in it from Spike & Drusilla (before they first went to America) that had them distant relatives of Narcissa's that still kept in contact with the their vampire kin (Spike specificly though they treated Dru like part of the family since she sired Spike (turned him)).

Don't worry, your reasoning for muggles & access to wizarding places is not far off what I've seen in other fics.
I think the basic way for muggles to enter guarded Wizarding areas like Diagon Alley is to be in the com of of a wizard or witch. Somehow the Grangers, at the begining of Hermione's second year, gained access to Diagon Alley, of course with the reasoning of wizarding company that would have been easy, they had Hermione leading the way.
Some other areas - ones more heavily guarded - would need special spells to allow access though, like Hogwarts. One of the books, I don't recall which, probably GoF, said muggles who come neogwaogwarts would see a ruin with warning signs posted around saying it was unsafe. The sort of antigle gle enchantments would probably need special counterspells cast on individual muggles should there be reason to allow them into such places. Then, of course, once they leave memory charms would be cast.

*Decides to quit rambling & go read chapter four*

Would you believe this is the first time I have ever ventured into BtVS fanfic? I haven't even seen season 7 & my knowledge of season 6 is patchy at best (that was about when fanfic started taking over my life).

I've only read the first chapter but it's interesting so far.

    *Heads off for chapter 2*

Good, very good. I especially like Harry's thoughts on the subject, very realistic. At least, they would've been, before JKR used OotP to turn him into a whining, sulking, two-year-old. But there's only one thing that seriously seems to be lacking from this fic....where's Spike??!! Is he just going to be the token vampire with a few, occasional, stating-the-obvious, unimportant lines???!!!! All I can say is that he'd better not.....*growls* Maybe you could do something interesting with him, like have him and Snape *growls again ^_~* be former lovers or something. How awesome would that be?! *grabs a bowl of popcorn and settles down to watch* Draco should definately end up screwing Ginny's brains out. Or Harry's. Or Xander's. Or Spike's. I'm not that particular! ^_^

    ps: Good luck writing!

Let me start by saying that normally I am not a fan of crossovers, usually because they are not at all well thought out or done. This one, however, definitely has me interested! You've come up with a plausible plot, and I like your characterization of Draco! Please continue, I am looking forward to seeing how you develop this - and how Snape reacts to Willow....

Hehehe! This is great!!!! Yeah, she would be the only one who'd understand what it was like. Although Harry might, if he thought back to his second and fourth years. But seriously, we all know that she just wants to JUMP HIS BONES!!!!!!!!! C'mon, who wouldn't? ;)
