I can't believe anyone else hasn't commented on DamienSlytherin's blatant homophobbic comments. What an asshole! The way he casually uses the word "faggot" (which I should tell you, that word stems from homosexuals having to carry their own sticks to where they were being burnt at the stake) and he practically describes it as a sick lifestyle should have been found offensive by everyone, gay or not. If I had used the n-word and made racist comments I'd have flames up the wazoo (and rightfully so). So please, Slytherin, keep your homophobic comments to yourself. If you simply find the sex disgusting, it's really none of your business what people do in the bedroom. And if you're some bible thumper, did you overlook the part that says you should love your neighbor as yourself?

P.S. I am not a fan of HP SLASH either but everyone is entitled to their opinions. Whether Slytherin likes them or not that does not give him the right to make those comments.

P.P.S. Harry DID rape Hermione. I work with sex crimes every day and I can tell you he DID rape her.

Maybe I need to clear up a misconseption that everyone has conserning my stance in this arguement:

True, I did not read the fic *in it's entirety*.

I have however read exerpts of the fic and the MST of the fic which managed to point out to me that I would be sickened if I tried to read through the original piece itself.

Get this straight people: I have significant parts of the fic.

I had a whole stake of comment for each reviewer in this arguement but I decided to scrap the whole thing because I wanted to stay as far out of the arguing as I could though there are a couple of comments I would like to make:

Dana: when commenting about other people try not to presume on their gender, you refered to me as male and if I were such then I'd have to wonder where my cock went.

B: I suport all your stated opinions.

One another note: Some people in deb debate haven't taken a close look at Vertex'sknamkname and have been spelling it 'Vortex'. *Smiles and shakes head*

I'm revewing this because I review everything I read, out of courtesey. I didn't like this all that much, to be honest. The plot was rather on the weak side, and I found the inter-thought explanations of behavior insubstantial. I can't remember now if you actually ushe the term 'nymphomania' but the behavior described herein is essentially what most people consider nymphomania to be. It isn't. I understand Harry is emotionally distraught, but the events causing this would not (from an actual scientific standpoint) cause him to become addicted to sex, or to skew his mindset so radically. I don't know if you care much about believability/factual basis in your story, but if you do that's something to keep in mind. I can't make an comments on OOC behavior, mainly because you *seem* to be using a psychological angle, and mental trauma can unbalance a person. But not this sort of mental trauma. Your best bet is to do a bit of editing, and add in a bit more tragedy to get Harry to this point.

But that's just my opinion.

Its kinda dumb to keep going after someone who hasnt posted here in ages, isnt it? from the looks of this board, the person you keep mentioning hasnt been here in days and they seemed like the type who would continue a topic if they cared. looks likey sey said there peace and left, but your still here bitching about them. they seem to have washed their hands of this fic and of all of you, and your the ones who are keeping this alive at all. thats pretty sad. the person u are obsessing over and who was accused of obsessing over gay guys and stuff left a long time ago and all thats left is your petty bullshit. and i may be young but im a lot more mature than the way a lot of you have been acting, threatening violence and telling people to shoot themselves and just acting like idiots. and im allowed to read fanfic, even adult stuff if i want to. i work and pay for my internet service myself so my parents trust me to make up my own mind about stuff and they raised me good enough to know that i know the difference between right and wrong, so i can think for myself. im going off to college in a few months anyways, so they have to trust my judgement at some point. your right people can publish what they want and other people can say they think its crap and give their reasons why. that person was within there rights to say what they wanted and if vertex was offended she could just have deleted the reviews that were bad and none of this would have happened. authors can delete reviews here anytime they want. why do u think they have id #s? but honestly look at yourselves. your acting like fools when the person who your so angry at is long gone and is probably over the whole thing anyways. u are just acting childish.

I was constructive. I said that the prose was appalling, the storyline was terrifyingly amoral, and I wondered about the health and wellbeing of the author. Had I given precise examples, I would have been shot down, much as Arianrhod was. I sincerely doubt any of you would take criticism of this fic well at all, no matter how it was phrased. Your conduct is proof of that. Perhaps I was a little too forceful in my first comment, but I have been reasonably polite and entirely honest since. You haven't managed to tone down on the insults OR the threats. You expect me to be polite to *you*, when you persist in calling me a moron favinaving an opinion that differs from yours?

I'm not lying about the rape. Isn't there a rape warning in the header now? if Vertex thinks it's rape, and Vertex is writing it, then it's rape.

Why would I stop reading adult fiction when I write it? You assume that our dislike of this fic stems from its rating - that is untrue. It stems from the complete lack of regard Vertex gives the female characters. Fanfiction can tell a lot about an author, and if Vertex is indeed male, this worries me further.

Actually, it did. As far as I remember, Arianrhod posted her dislike of the fic (and I don't believe she was even the first). From there on, she was flamed, insulted and had her fanfiction spammed with flames. And you're surprised there was a response? We're not Christ either. I have insulted you because you not only insulted me for making public my (evidently unpopular) opinion, you told me I should "shoot [my]self in the head". I don't react well to childish threats. Thus, a flamewar is born. You cannot lay the blame entirely on us. It is indeed possible to react maturely to an unpopular opinion.

And as far as I can tell, Arianrhod is no longer posting on this board. So why do you keep bringing up what she said?

I've read the post over at Livejournal. The insults to the author were minimal - the beef is entirely with the fic. In fact, Arianrhod stated in that post that she believed Vertex is capable of writing good work if they were open to suggestions on improvement. As far as I can tell, no LJ users have even bothered to check out the post in question. Which means that no one really cares that much, and the post is just an excuse to flame.

As to the insults to the reviewers - well, to put it fly, ly, you asked for it. You don't go around calling people names and suggesting they kill themselves without some fallout. You can't possibly have imagined that we'd wander off into the sunset after that.

Censorship, you say? That's funny, I thought your attempts to make the dissenters go away by flaming them could also be construed as censorship. You don't like my opinion, do you? You want me to shut up, don't you? Sorry, but you're attempting censorship yolf. lf. I never said this fic should be taken down, that people should stop reading it, or that the author should go hang themselves. I simply said what I thought - that it's a steaming heap of crap. As I live in a free country, and the internet is also free, per perfectly entitled to my opinion.
