    Rumours, heh?
    And now I must run...

Yay indeed! I gave a little squeal when I saw the new chapter, which is completely undignified but I don't care. That was a splendid bit of sleight of mouth on Snape's part. A lot more subtlety is required to egg on a Serinerin than to get a Gryffindor going.

Nice tender moment in our heros' quarters before class. I hope Kathryn is smart enough to snort at the rumors.

I don't really know what to say, other than post more ASAP, please!!! The whole Sub Rosa universe is incredible, and I love the way you've been manipu- err... developing - the characters. Normally I don't read or like stories that focus around OCs, but with your talent for making the characters -- Kathryn, Minuet, Fortina, all of them, really -- come alive the journey has been amazing. So far, though, there have been two parts that have struck me; one sombre, the other hysterical. The latter is the whole chapter 'Debriefing Harry'. I was sitting in front of my computer thankful that no one was in the room to witness me laughing at the screen. The former was from Sub R the the following paragraph:

Had there been anyone to see it, the sight of Hagrid, covered in furs and leathers against the cold, removing the mask and cloak of a Death Eater from Severus, careful not to hurt the smaller man, and then cradling him against his massive chest would have been quite shocking. Less shocking was the sight of compassion and affection on the bigger man's face as he carried Severus with tender care to the secret back door of he dungeons. After all, Hagrid had always loved monsters.

That paragraph had me practically in tears as it seemed to summarize so perfectly Severus' life, both how most view him, and how he thinks of himself. The way you have with words is beyond description -- that there is so much in those three sentences... Wow.

The other thing I wanted to mention was how you have seamlessly brought creatures/beings from other fantasical realms [your own included, of course] into your story. Although I love JKR's work, there are still many other multi-led wed worlds which have such colourful creations that seeing some of these blended together was not only fun, but a nice change from stict adherence to the current realm of HP, although the amount of cannon is greatly appreciated, particularly in a fic of this le [wh [where it's gradually becoming less impossible to find such a fic post-OOP].

Please, please, please update soon! Have you any idea how much longer this will be? [I only ask because I'll be away from a computer in two weeks time and having to live without updates when it appears that you are so prompt -- from the Author's Notes ightight be considered cruel and unusual torture.]

A very impatient, yet worshipping from afar,
    Kedd

Boy, go away for a bit and you just churn out the good stuff! Once more I'm awed with your prolific brilliance and the plot twistings can only be called genius. More!

VERY interesting chapter. If things were complicated before... well, I just can't wait for the next chapter. NOt to mention I can't help but picture the different ways Katheryn would turn down the 'honor' of sleeping with Lucius... 'A child? Out of wedlock.. why mother would have coniptions' "have your child? My dear Mr. Malfoy, you are too important to risk losing to Grandmere's temper" and so on. The whole story is jtoo too entertaining.

Gosh, will our lovely couple end up with two children conceived under duress with Death Eaters? That's humorous in a very, very dark way, but I can't blame Kathryn for wanting to run like mad from Malfoy. He may look angelic (nice touch, by the way) but he's scary as hell. I admit to worrying that Orion is intended to be a bargaining chip -- "usefulness" indeed -- but that portkey pacifier should even the playing field.

Interesting that Kathryn, not Snape, thought to ask Draco what specifically had him worried. Not sure what to make of that. Maybe Snape doesn't think he needs to rely on anyone else? Or perhaps he's just eager to get going so they can get back and have some lemonade. ;-)

Kat's outfit made my evening -- what, no JaBondBond exploding pen in her purse? I never thought about the deadly possibilities of jewelry. Every chapter you find some way to make her more interesting.

Well, we can't have your fingers falling off, now can we? It sounds rather painful and counterproductive to any writing you wish to get done. I hope to see another chapter soon, but I also hope to become president or foreign diplomat to Russia as soon as I am out of college. Some things just don't happen. :)
I enjoyed the chapter very much...Kathryn'sire ire for the quiet evening at the Malfoy's was quite humorous. Much like how I dress when I go to visit my mother's side of the family...hm...
Okay...any how...thanks for the chapter! And if your fingers do fall off, remember...duct tape can fix anything. I'll send you some.

    I wish I knew too...
And I looked at my wardrobe, I think I need a change from all the furryness.
You write great and draw too! As talented as they come...
Question: From what I remember from GoF Narcissa's hair was blonde. Did I forget some part where she had it under a spell or something to make the whole family blonde in the fic or was I simply too sleepy and you weren't talking of her at the time at all?

It's interesting to watch Snape at a meeting when he's in the background, unwatched by Voldemort, because he has to put on a different sort of show with Malfoy. ("See, I am a loyal little servant, watch me dance" is hysterical.) Slytherin mind games: perfect acting with internal patter contradicting nearly everything said.

As depressing as it is to see Voldemort's followers successfully killing and raping, it's realistic that Snape can't save them all, and in fact can't save most. He's a spy, not a super hero. (Just got an image of Snan tin tights and a cowl. Mmmmmm.) Still, I'm glad you're showing that he's upset whenever he can do nothing but stand aside and watch. Besides his underlying decency, he's clearly a man who likes to have control of a situation.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who doesn't know where the plotline will lead!

So, Kathryn and Ryan are to meet Lucius...I wonder how that will go over. I do hope that Voldemort will not be present...as interesting as the interaction between Kathryn and the Dark Lord would be. Reading the dialouge between Severus and Lucius was quite delightful, Severus has to stay on guard, but yet seem very sincere with Malfoy. Talk about tightropes. More story soon?

Great chapter! If this was a paperback, I would be up all night for the outcome.

But tomorrow comes soon enough. Something to look foreward to so patience is good.

Filch cracks me up. In fact, there's a lot of humor here, as always, despite the somber ne the the storyline has taken, and you're weaving the the light and dark elements together so well. (I'm glad, too, because angsty fics are nearly always improved by a bit of laughter.)

We know how much Kathryn cares for Snape, but the depth of her emotions are clearer here than in any of the earlier chapters -- that feeling that she's given something up (not only gained something) to love someone so much. It's easier not to be afraid for yourself because you at least have some measure of control over what happens to you. When Snape apparates to Voldemort's side, she's powerless to help him. (Unless, that is, you've got some story twist yet to come.)

Oh, and I got another thrill reading about Snape's knives shooting out his sleeves. Oddly sexy.

Interesting choice of passwords. I just ate one today.
It appears that I am indeed stuck in a realm of E Pluribus Unum...
You have this way of making me feel just as worried because of Severus. I need a blade of his to keep my eye on... Just ine. He.

I hope Kathryn doesn't have to find out what life is like without Severus...I also hope the plot line will be bringing him safely back to Hogwarts, again.
