Really, really, really good. I laughed at "Snark Through the Ages" and winced at Lavender's injuries and cheered the maurading Hufflepuffs (never piss off the loyal and hardworking). I felt like I could *see* the battlefield -- the survivors covered in the blood of friends and enemies alike.

The way you ended it seemed completely original -- I've never read a fanfic in which the reader has a view of the battle without a front-row seat for Voldemort's death -- and it worked so well to *hear* the end instead of seeing it.

So what's next? A shower followed by snogging? ;-)

Chapter 38... Though I didn't expire from the suspense, I felt as if I was on the brink a couple of times;-) Another WONDERFUL chapter!!! I am glad to see that it is now over!!! I bet that Hermione will be a bit upset that she didn't get to Harry in time, but if she hadn't tried to reinstate the wards, things could have been quite bad for the castle!!!

I really like how you threw in the bits of humor from Hermione about Salazar & Draco & the comment Severus made to Miss Mintage!!! It was a very comfortable diversion from all of the combat, worry, pain & sadness!!! I really do like how you wroteazarazar by the way!!!

I am glad to see that things are on the mend for Ron & Lav!!! It's amazing what a little war can do to a person's train of thought towards someone they love!!! Nice to see that Miss Brown's tras bas back on track!!!

Can't wait to see what happens now!!! Til chapter 39, Deb >^..^

Good action, good movement--and the child's hand in Snape's just the right touchr Har Harry, England and St. George! (ok, Fred too. They are a matched set).

The hardest thing for me to write is action. Far simpler it is to do melodrama, where the writing is far more lyrical than fast paced action. Therefore, I must confesst yot your action sequences of the last 2 chapters were wonderfully written.

I found the scenes realistic - there was enough gut wrenching gore and commentary on the battle from Hermione's pov. Susan's death brought home the bloodiness of war that most other writers tend to gloss over using magic. Magic death like the AK is too clean, too quiet for a war on the scale you portrayed. The addition of the Giants, Dementors etc really made it a chaotic mess that the Light side had no choice but to engage in.

Hey, what do you know -- Snape's instinctual desire to save Hermione turned out well for everyone. Woohoo! Way to work a passing reference many chapters agoo a o a plot point ... Miss Mintage and her nightmares come full circle, and I can just picture her slipping her hand into Snape's.

The battlefield scenes are too powerful to need comment, so I'll just say this: Ginny's fixation on saving Neville -- saving someone, anyone -- feels very real.
