*sniff* It's over. This has been a beautiful, beautiful journey, watching the story come out and shine. You've written a small epic, and wonderfully so. The ending fits nicely with the rest of the story, and really ties up all the loose threads you might have been stuck with. Excellent job!

    You bad Friendlyquark!
You gave me a fit of laugh that sent out pangs of pain from my back! Anyway, if you want to know wmademade me laugh so badly : Severus and the children playing Aurors and Dark Wizards. Priceless!
I'm sooo happy! It really ends in the garden!
    Good choice of pairings.
Funny chapter, and a really touching one.

I was honestly starting to worry, as your updating pace is really good, and I haven't seen any updates of your works for a while. I feel sorry for your illness, but I'm happy to know you feel better now.
As this was the last chapter, I will make a quick review of the whole story.
Of course I liked it. Very much. The length was perfect, as I found the story plot progressing at the perfect rate. It was slow enough to make the changes beliee, be, but not so to make the story boring. I think I prefered the first part, when Severus was in Harry's body, because it was a world of discoveries for him. I also liked the relevance you gave to Ron, and the use of Edmond Rostand's play, my favourite (though I haven't re-read it for a long time). Snape is not really the kind to display poetry, but the similarities between Cyrano and Snape are striking.
However, I must admit that the part about the cats, though funny, was not really adding anything to the story (except maybe for some interventions of Crookshanks). If my memory doesn't betray me, it didn't add anything to the plot, nor to Severus and Hermione's relationship. I think I could have skipped most of it. But, ah, that's just my opinion, and I know many of your readers enjoyed that.
Another thing I really liked was the garden ( "The last piece of joy left in him". Hey, I still remember the line! More or less. That was just beautiful ). So I'm very happy to see the garden again, that this story kind of ends with it, with Severus' inner happiness.
And of course I liked the lemons - well, actually, lemon - and was so glad you gave them time to finally go to it : not just after the battle (that would have been disturbing) and not even just after she finished school. I mean, they didn't jump at each other at their first opportunity, it was logical they needed time for all that had happen to sink, time to heal wounds. It really was a love story, not a lust one - well, not only about lust. ; )
But I guess the chapter that really impressed me was the first chapter of the battle. It was different from all I have read. And that detached way to tell what was happening was more emotional than anything I have read. I don't know how you did it, but it was like being there, it was so real. I've never been in a battle - touching wood, and, for better thing at hand, my head will do - but that chapter was more expressive than many other battle descriptions I've read ( and I'm not talking just about fanfiction).
I'm not sad this fic is coming to an end (no, I didn't forget, there's still the epilogue), as I said, I found it has the perfect length. And, this ending just can mean one thing : a new storom rom you! (bouncing happily, as far as my injured back allows me to do that today).
In a word - or two - : thank you.
P.S. and thanks to your beta too.

I loved this last chapter. My favorite part was the dream Hermione had with the two kids and then Severus calling her bossy boots later. That was very cute.

    Can I just add one odd thing? {yeah, like you could stop me...}

I've been married long enough (20 years this fall) that I'm fairly certain to have passed beyond any silly romantic notions -- and it CAN indeed be really, really good.

Are there problems in real life? DUH! Of course!

Does that mean that "happily ever after" only happens in fiction? Nope.

Trust me, there are incredible benefits to new relationships but there's little that compares to a long-term understanding of one another. Oh my, he CAN be trained -- when I make that noise, it means that I really like it....

Sorry, I'ing ing sappy, but romance doesn't necessarily die during after ther first few years. Hmmm, can we say "kate's getting some?" LOL.

I can't believe that this is coming to an end!!! I have truly enjoyed every word!!!

Chapter 43... I really LOVE the inner musings that each of them had about the morning after!!! I don't think their being together now would be so incredible if it had not been for the time they took to get to know each other!!! I also think that the way that you use the dreams to show his emotions is perfect!!!

I really like Lady Amelia!!! I think that she & Hermione would have a lot to share in the future!!! She already seems happy in the fact that Hermione makes Severus happy!!!

It is with mixed emotions that I look forward to the epilogue!!! Sorry to see this end, but thankful that I have had the chance to read such a FABULOUS story!!! Til chapter 44, Deb >^..^

I'm grinning like a loon at this chapter -- it's an unequivocal and unapologetic happy ending! Yea!!!! And I love how you wrapped up so many loose endings (the garden, Snape's childhood including burying the nasty old biddy great-aunt, the cat) and did it all with great affection.

    Happy sigh.

Now, get yourself and your roomies healthy, dang it! You've got some more work to do on a few other fics out there.... ;P
