Bloodeagle? Interesting. I'm trying to think my way back through the books. I'm sure there was somebody other than Hagrid who was arty. Also, I'm dying to find out where Severus has got to. There's a place like that about a mile from me and every so often you see someone trotting down the road in pyjamas, slippers aressressing gown with a nurse in hot pursuit. Could they have let him walk out to find out where his investigations lead. Can't wait for the next episode.

"Financial support of this fine institution." Well, the only character in Harry Potter canon who contributed oodles of money to institutions was Lucius Malfoy - and we all know what a peach of a person he is. The association (whether subconcious or overt) doesn't do Dumbledore a bit of good, IMHO. I think Dumbledore's appropriated Snape's inheritance as well as his magic, and is rubbing both in his face. It's just that Snape only knows about the one.

Boy, I'm going to feel really stupid if I've done all this nitpicking only to end up barking up the wrong tree ... :( At least you know your story's gripping!!

The wine makes Nicholas' throat close up ... did Francoise spike it with something? Or is that just a red herring?

I'm not even going to try interpreting the dreams - so many others have done it. :/ You've compared Dumbledore to a tiger, once already - but there are so many possibilities for all of the figures ... sigh.

Hey! Dumbledore isn't cleared for that file!! What the hell is he doing reading it???

And can you get him to stop throwing Snape's bound magic in his face, please? First the Occlumens bit, now this. Git.

Hm. Forgot to mention Ginny's "surprisingly strong grip." And what frustration is mine! I had forgotten the names and was just getting excited about a pattern - Potter, Bones, Weaver, Cooke - thinking the next one might be Smith or Schumacher or something. But no, it's Desmond. Damn.

Wa-a-a-a-ait a second. Aberforth sent Albus a Howler when Severus was in school ... One would assume that "goat" refers to how Aberforth got in trouble. But I have a suspicion ... a sneaking suspicion. I'll bet that Dumbledore's mother left Albertina and descendants a big chunk of money. Only descendant living is Snape. Dumbledore is sure to become his guardian and *keeps him in the dark*, thus keeping all the cheddar when it eventually comeveruverus' way. That would be enough to piss off even the looniest of brothers, wouldn't it?

Or am I reading too much into this?

Yeah, there's definitely something fishy about the behavior of both Dumbledore and Snape in this chapter. What does Snape know that D. doesn't Hermione to know? Why did Snape recoil at Hermione's question? You'd think that with years of therapy, the question would have come up before. I smell a conspiracy.

I've been rereading this a bit - there's something odd about Ron's desk being undisturbed, then? Almost as if Fionn's place is Unplottable, or rigged with Time-Turners, or something ...

Hmph. Maybe it's just because of a line that caught at my brain. Did you mean to reference "The Usual Suspects" with "You really are a slob ... you know that?" If I remember correctly, the reply in the movie is: "Yeah, but you just gotta sit back and look at the whole thing - it all fits together ..." And then - BAM! - the Patented Usual Suspect 180-degree plot twist. Something makes me thinat yat you probably like that movie ... :)

My goodness. I've seen Dark Gods mentioned on the WIKTT board for ages, but haven't had much time to read anything lately. Well, last night I found myself with time on my hands and this fic seemed as good as any. I was disappointed when I realized that a romance between Severus and Hermione wasn't the focus, but your excellent plot and timing grabbed my attention regardless. I had a very hard time shutting down my computer at midnight last night when I was at chapter 18. And now... another cliffie! Where's Severus? Who's the killer? ARGH! Can't it be tomorrow yet? All joking aside, this is a wonderful, wonderful fic. Good job. Now I'm off to read anything and everything else you've written!

I really just want to thank you for writing this story and updating it so regularly. It's almost a shame that you're getting so close to the end and we'll no longer have daily updates to look forward to. The story is brilliantly crafted and almost reminds me of a modern Agatha Christie (my all-time favorite mystery author, so that's quite a comliment IMHO).
I do have to say though that I'm very impatiently waiting to see what Severus Snape is up to.

I've just spent the better part of several hours reading your story, it's a wonderful murder mystery. You've beautifully extrapolated the canon characters to logical points in your journey. They are believable, and real and very sympathetic. I'm enjoying it immensely. There's only one small problem... it's not comletely posted yet. Sniff, sniff, sob.

Bloody Brillant! I am literally sitting on the edge of my seat wanting to read what happens next!
You've definately got the knack of writing and developing characters (well, at least to further the basic characters from JK) and to create a "nail biter" story!

Just wanted to say "Thanks" for letting us enjoy your work and I am looking forward to the conclusion of this story,
