Well, the plot thickens yet further. I have no idea who dunnit, still plenty of plot to go eh? This is a really satisfying story to read. I love your characterisation. I find your Dumbledore really shifty and unappealing. Snape seems suprisingly sane in an insane way - he has way too much bottled up that man. Hermione has a suitably other-worldly layer over her 'canon' characteristics. I like the way you draw on different characters as the story progresses - lots of suspects, I'm sure lots of clues (I'm oblivious as usual) and all beautifully written. What a pleasure.

This is incredibly good! I'll be on vacation for a week and I won't be able to read the updates, so I'll be doing a lot of reading when I get back home. Excellent plot, fabulous writing.

I don't think I have reviewed yet --- I needed to read and contemplate in order to form a response. Your writing is excellent, clear and evocative, the characters ring true given the passage of time, and the plot is...unfolding? No, pulling me in as in a labyrinth. I cannot see what is around the next turn, but when I do see it, it seems to be inevitable. There is detail, but not an undergrowth of detail that clogs up the story.

Snape in the asylum is chilling, Hermione's story of why she left is heartbreaking, and Ron is likeable and admirable and I wonder what I haven't noticed abotu him yet.

Thank you for writing this. I won't review every chapter, but I will surely be reading them.

Who killed the boy who didn't live... Is there a poll? Well I reckon Hermione killed him, because it's just so damn unlikely.

I am really enjoying this story...parlarllarly the way Severus treats himself to small portions of his first newspaper in five years.

    Blessings, Kait x

I'm probably way off....but my gut tells me that Ron has more to do with this then he leads on....I think he was involved somehow.

I only just realized exactly who was writing this story - I had been about to say I was a fan of the story, now I'll say I'ma fan of your work. Your characterizations are consistent and believable, your plots are unusual and always interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next, though please don't rush and bungle things on a reviewer's account. Just please don't abandon the story!

Someone has probably said this before but Cuthrell disturbs me...it's probably farfetched but maybe he has something to do with Harry's death? I'm still loving this story, lovely writing and I really like the pacing of this story. And the fact that it's updated every day is a plus :)

ok hun, full on tears are falling right now. that is so...beautifully dark. and so truthful! why is it i see so much of myself in Hermione? i wonder if all of us see something of ourselves in her, or the boys. i loved the explination of why she left, the talk with Albus was good, and i really enjoy the little bits of Reality you add, like the details about the tea, ahe che chair, all of it really. thanks so much for posting. wish i could read it all now, but i understand your wanting to post it like this. :)

nitpick: James Potter wasn't a prefect. So far e cae can tell, there's a girl and a boy from each year, and Lupin was the prefect--made so in an attempt to exert some control over James and Sirius. Takes some of the punch out of it, though, don't it? Pesky, pesky canon...

I started reading this story tonight, not really sure what to expect. It had me bawling my eyes out for the most part of the first four chapters. Really. Bawling. My. Eyes. Out. The imagery in the story. The story itself. Mind blowing. All the while, I was trying to think of who could have killed Harry. And the Aurors. And the Auror's families. Who killed them? His wife? His son? His daughter? Petunia? Dudley? Draco? Ron? Surely not Hermione ... Dumbledore? There are so many clues, and yet I'm no closer to finding out who it is.

I'm also glad that you're posting one chapter at a time, because I just spent the past few hours reading up to this point, and I need to be up for work in about 7 or 8 hours. (if all the chapters had been posted, I wobe sbe staying up to finish reading it, I can assure you of that!)

But just. Wow. The whole story idea. I can invision it in my head. Everything. I can imagine Snape and Hermione havnig their conversations. I can imagine the Ron and Hermione's bickering. I can hear them. I can see what's happening. the imagery. ...

    You are an awesome author.

    Wow. Just ... wow.

I've been away for a few days so I had the treat of being able to read 3 or 4 chapters in a row today. I normally hate mysteries, but you've completely sucked me in here. I love an intelligent, capable yet still gawky Ron, a mysterious Hermione, and a surprising but still canon Snape. Your details are intriguingly laid out and the descriptions are unexpected (Albus' toes, the state of Ron's kitchen equipment, etc.) but fortify the story without interfering.

    Lovely!

And given that the terror (and current front-runner for "most likely to be wearing prison orange" award) at my house is a tiny, charming little girl, I wouldn't put the crime past Alice. *wink*

This just gets better and better. It's one of my favourite fics. So Snape is related to Albus, why would Albus have him committed - he seems pretty sane to me. I still think he is the secret keeper for someone, possibly Albus? I was beginning to wonder if it was Ron in the dining room with the bread knife, you know, just to get the girl but obviously not. Is McNair not dead, the executioner from POA or is Voldie looking for spare parts, the permutations are endless and I love guessing. The suspense though is killing me. Love it.

Great! This just keeps getting better and better with each chapter. Talk about characters being fleshed out in-depth. It makes them more human.
