OMG... That was powerful. Are you SURE you can't make a continuation? I understand it's a one shot, but that doesn't mean there can't be a follow up. Please? That fic was too great to just be a one shot. Great work.

Well, then. This must be the one of the most intelligent and erotic fics between Hermione and Draco that I have ever read. Thank you so much.

I saw this recced somewhere so thought I'd take a look -- and I'm glad I did. You did a really nice job with the story. The desperation of needing to have something -- or someone -- to cling to in a time of war to stop yourself going insane was very clear all the way throughout, and my heart ached for Hermione, Draco *and* Ron, because they were all suffering in their own way. Great story!

Wow! It's so cool to read a real, adult story (and not "adult" in merely the porn sense), one that really makes one think. You gave Hermione and Draco grown-up emotions, depth, and interest without making them OOC. She really belongs with Draco at the end because he's the only one who actually understands her. He "feels her pain" in a way that Ron never will, much as he may be well-meaning, the big doofus. I think Remus was trying to diminish Hermione's feelings for Draco by implying that he's merely really attractive and not that he fills an essential need in her life (and IMO Hermione is just as important to the Order as Ron is, so what keeps her happy is critical too). She probably shouldn't have gone so long stringing out Ron, but I can see how it would be difficult for her to back out now, with them all living together and needing to work together to save the world from evil. Maybe she could get away from Ron gradually, starting by having her own room. Anyway, I know it doesn't matter (it's just FICTION!), but I do tend to get carried away with a story sometimes, and that's a good thing!

I hope you are writing more HP stories (maybe something more cheerful next time). I look forward to reading your future work.

This was beyond brilliant! It was rec'd in my yahoo community, Quiet Ones, and I had to read it. The characterizations were amazing. You have a beautiful way with words and I feel honored to have read this! Would you consider submitting it to be archived at It's Always the Quiet Ones? http://quietones.org. It's just one of the best D/Hr fics I've read in a while and I'd love if we could archive it at the site.

Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful story! Hope to see more from you soon!

Wow. This story is simply amazing.

While I often prefer fluffy!Dramione stories, this story, however dark the undertones, has affected me in more ways. I thought about it all day today and will likely re-read it. If your other readers hadn't already done so, I would have done my part in pimping it to various groups as well.

I like the development of Draco and Hermione's relationship and the cause for its beginning is plausible. I love the psychological basis of it. I like how you told part of their story through the words on the headboard. I like how you left the last word unsaid.

Your description of why Hermione's relationship with Ron is bound to fail is precisely why I don't ship Ron/Hermione. For once, it focuses less on Hermione and Ron not being intellectual equals, and more on Ron always being in someone's shadows. I like the subtlety of Draco's jealousy or Ron and Hermione's relationship; the way you described it without the usual blow ups and dramatics speaks volumes.

I like how you brought in Remus's werewolf abilities in confronting Draco and Hermione about their relationship and I like how Remus/Sirius is juxtaposed with Draco/Hermione.

Much as I would love to have a sequel to this, I'm not going to ask for one because the story is beaul thl the way you left it, much like you left out the last carved word. I would, however, strongly encourage you to write more Draco/Hermione stories. PLEASE?

Great story! The relationship between the two main characters unfolded credibly and gloriously.
The sex was divine and the war plot amazing. Kudos to you for a well thought-out and exquisitely written fic.

Wow! I loved it! The plot is orginial, and the characters are perfect. The war, the desperation......all combine to make the story so bittersweet! I loved how it ended, yet I still want to beg for a continuing fic. Any chance of that happening?

About the relationships: Hermione and Draco were amazingly matched in this fic. I loved Remus' description of Sirius and their time together. I really liked how differently you presented the Hermione and Ron match --- it was interesting to read about them not being perfect together despite their love.

    Very well done.

I just love this story! it was one of those that I couldn't stop reading untill the end. I thought Draas was writing the words on the head boards but now it looks like it was Hermione. Great job! :)

This is a fabulous story. You capture the desperation, tenderness, tragedy and caring superbly. I really like that it is Remus that forces the issue. And that Draco, although very much a Black, is more then Sirius' shadow. Too bad that Remus is unable to see that. The raw energy if this fic is great.
    Just Wonderful.
