Personally, I think you should beat Moody over the head with a shillelagh stick instead ;o) Another great chapter, would have been perfect with a bit of smut... But waiting increases the tension. I hope it's not too long before the next chapter and I also hope you are feeling better.

Well - you sure know how to keep me on tentahooks! Enjoyed Marf, Sev and Kingsley's elaborate way of not adding too much Veriteserum. But did Draco really manage to escape the full dosage - guess I'll have to wait and see.

    Betz,

Glad to read another chapter - although I must admit I am on tenterhooks to get to Hermione's next date with SS and taste the cassoulet!

Hermione is pretty much implicated, with the death of her co-worker (who could be seen as an impediment to her promotion) and her being in the vacinity at the time of Delahov's attack. I wonder if someone deliberately framed her?

Your character analyses are very believable and I'm impressed with all the additional bits of knowledge about alchemy code words, herbs etc.

Much as I want to urge you to get the next chapter up quick, I do not want to press you to compromise on the quality, which so far has been excellent.

I agree totally with your beta - I can't wait to be able to read the whole thing, all at once. Heck, I can't wait to read what happens next - Dolohov's snapping really set the cat among the pigeons. I wonder if he deliberately spared Hermione, or if her seeming smug and put-together to his desperate mind was the final straw.

Hey there, sorry I haven't reviewed the last couple of chapters. I've been a bit on the fly. I really am enjoying every update you come out with. I am curious as to how Hermione will react - if the guilt will propel her to stay away from Snape for the time being. She might have thought nothing much of her suspicion and considering how close to the attack her leaving was, it probably wouldn't have mattered. But I really love how you've compounded that guilt by making Dolohov snap at the exact moment when Hermione gave in to Severus slightly by doing such naughty things to him with her tongue ;) She broke her self imposed rule, tore off her pretty bow of denial and when she went home she found a way to punish herself. It's really interesting how people can take unrelated moments but feel that one is the penance for the other. I really like how human these characters are - hopelessly flawed really - but wonderfully lifelike. Normally the wizarding world is a world above our own where the problems are quite outside normal circumstance - but in this story the problems come from quite human places. I really appreciate this whole story, it's one of the most intelligent post-hogwarts stories I have read. Right up there with Whippy's "Blood of Mud, Wing of Bat".

I love how the problems are escalating and I really can't see it ending well, it's like a train heading for derailment but I can't look away. lol Please update soon, I am revelling. :)

Ch 20 - Cucurbite ... wow, I learn all kinds of stuff from your stories! And yes, I'd like to save this entire story when done, assuming the angst will one day end. Sheesh, isn't there a way to kill off Ron and Harry? Too bad Dolohov missed Harry! I'm not looking forward to Moody being there to interrogate Severus and Draco, or Pansy. I suppose it's too much to hope that anyone at MoM realizes Dolohov's nervous breakdown could happen to any Death Eater living in such oppression. Yup, this is one angsty story!

Another fabulous chapter! Hermione sucking on Snape's finger was so erotic, especially mixed in with the thought of what Snape would rather have her doing. I hope it's not too long before the next chapter arrives :o)

Wow - I am so loving this. I can't wait to read more. No wonder Hermione is so drawn to Sev - the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach! Sev is really smooth, I'd be all over him, I'm sorry to say. Poor Ron - you've made him so unloveable so far. OK, so Ron's a really crap shag but he must have SOME redeeming quality, surely. After all, he had a very stable upbringing in a loving family. I'm sure that your next chapter will need to deal with HG's guilt over not telling the aurors about Delahov but I hope you will have time to get Sev to prepare his cassoulet and slowly feed it to Hermione, mouthful by mouthful. Fwoar!

Ch 19 - groan.... now she's going to feel guilty and emotional and try to get back with Ron again. Ugh! And he'll want to know where she was that night, so she'll feel guilty about that, instead of wondering where RON has been this week (and with whom). I'd think Severus would be smart enough to never use the word "client" with a client; something like "special friend" sounds more like what a gigolo would say, to make his ladies feel special. Although "client" would be okay for a massage client like the nice lady who is moving away. Hmm, does Dolohov's insanity mean the Ministry will be even more stringent with Death Eaters like Draco and Severus? You'll tell us about their meeting with Kingsley in the morning? I can't believe I actually like this angsty story....I hate angst.... need more fluff and romance! Please hurry, write faster!!
