    Lorett!

I just finished the chapter where Laurel and Draco first dance. Sigh... I don't remember who was talking about the "Awww" factor (I think it was Vashka) yesterday- but this chapter has it in spades. Her trust and reaction to him just emphasize how strong and manly and handsome and powerful and... I suppose that I should stop now before the full-fledged tirade on all of Draco's traits begins.

Suffice it to say that right now I am melting... it's so romantic! *Hugs you for making me so happy*

Aaaaahhhh! Consumed by jealousy of Laurel!

I LOVED the scene in the club- so much hotness. Draco will always be my secret obsession, er, that is to say, my favorite character, but I do love a sexy Harry or Ron as well. I am waiting with bated breath to find out what will happen.

Will there be an attack? Will Laurel be able to withstand the heat of Draco's sex appeal? I shall now continue my reading- just wanted to tell you that it's SO GOOD!

    Hi Lorett!

I have been reading "The Three Keys" this afternoon- I am up to "Draco and Lucius" and having to take a break. I'm getting so nervous for Draco- your Lucius is SCARY, and I'm loving it, but I had to break to review lest I give myself an ulcer. I don't handle suspense well (obviously)- I usually read the back of books first, embarassingly enough, but I'm trying to be well-behaved and proceed through the chapters in order.

It's wonderful! I knew I would love it, being that it involves Draco and no one can write a better Draco than you, and I have not been disappointed.

I loved loved loved the interchange between Draco and Lucius re: elders! It made me giggle, though in a nervous way, since I am after all terrified of your Lucius.

Just wanted to tell you how much I am loving it!

WOW!! WOW! That was honestly the BEST story I've read in....EVER! I must say, when I first started reading the Three Keys, I didn't think that this story was going anywhere but now I realize that you truly have a talent with writing, even if it is just fanfiction. That was amazing! I know you probably get sick of hearing how great you are (or maybe not) but I cannot wait for the next installments! You made sure that your story flowed well, had lots of thick juicy plot, and of course a few of my favorite (or not so favorite) cliffies! I just want to say that I thoroughly enjoy reading everything that you write. You are an amazing writer. Oh, and by the way, could you add me to your email chapter update list? Thanks a bunch!

    Looking forward to lots more,

Oh, my darling Lorett! Have I mentioned lately that you're brilliant? Really, it's too much. And your story is way too much fun to read. I'm so sorry I couldn't find my way over here sooner; I did try, I swear. I've been reading little bits over the past week, and just managed to finish it today. Finally! Oh, I'm so proud of you, hon'. I know how devastated you were, and I'm shaking my head with admiration at the way you managed to pull yourself beyond that disappointment. That takes courage. And dedication and a true spark that can't ever go out, no matter how small it gets in the in-between times. (And you showed yourself up brilliantly, too.)

So, the chapter. When you say bursting with plot, you mean bursting with plot, don't you? Way to up the intrigue! I think you posed more questions than you answered. AND you brought Narcissa back into the equation. That alone makes for good material. I forgot all about her. (Well, not really, but I certainly didn't expect her to show up here.) So, she's hiding at Severus' (does Lucius know enough about her past to guess she's staying there?), asked him for "one cold, black heart," and has entertained the possibility of affection that surpasses friendship. Severus, we find, has long been in love with Narcissa, and his jealousy perhaps explains why he's so harsh about Lucius, though it seems well-founded. We do know that Lucius is cruel, and that his fear and ambition drives him to do things many sane people couldn't even imagine. Maggie was one of Severus' few friends back at Hogwarts (what House was she in, again?) and hurt him in some way, through a "mistake" which she hasn't yet disclosed. We also learn that she was romantically involved with someone, implied to be Lucius. If the implications are true, it explains why she can't imagine he's changed, even after being exposed to the Dark Lord. Yes, she's trusting and always thinks the best of someone, but there are extremes. Take everything on evidence, and evidence points the right way (or wrong way, from her perspective).

Now, this "cold, black heart." My best guess is that it's an allusion to death. A heart that's not beating is most definitely cold and slowly turning black from rot and disuse. We know she has to kill Lucius, according to the prophecy we heard about way back when. So, is she going to use a poison - hence Snape's involvement? Is she going to lure him to her and kill herself, slowly? I entertained the idea of the Lovers' Curse, but that seems a little risky though it would tie the story together nicely. Still, how is Snape going to help?

Snape's romantic interest is interesting, actually. It could possibly add more depth to why he's so intent on protecting Draco. Is it out of love for Narcissa? If I want to think really complicated, I could also say he wanted him at Hogwarts to draw Narcissa to him. But that might be a little over the top - he doesn't seem the type of person to engage himself in torture when he's perfectly content without. Having something he wants so dearly so close to him must be like dying, slowly and sweetly and internally. I never saw Snape to be the type that's interested in pursuing love, so this is an exciting twist to canon Snape. It's much more real and open than I would have been led to believe - Snape seemed like the sort that would consider love a weakness in himself and would fight it until the end. Still, it's too much fun fun fun!

Ooh, I can't wait until the next update! Daddy Death and Daring Draco, here we come! (You did save me those box seats, didn't you?) I have this whole act planned where I launch myself from my seat, landing by accident (cough) right on Draco, then dashing off hand-in-hand with him into the sunset. What do you think? Sounds peachy to me!

Much love, my dear (it was a fabulous chapter, in case you missed my general enthusiasm),

The bickering was great. I loved Narcissa. It did seem like there was a lot of tension between Snape and Maggie, though. There was an undercurrent between them that was subtle but it makes you want more, even though things seem pretty intimate with Narcissa.
