This story is OCC, and well never mind. It's too much wrong to go into it. Other reviewers have said it all (I hate the story in case you misunderstand).

How does this story have a four star rating and a majority of negative reviews. Must be the anti-SS/HG's I guess. Unless author and supporters are hitting the five star button repeatedly. It will probably be up to five stars by unfair means. Oh well.

How do you have such great Buffy stories and than write this umm story. That's so mean.

I'm writing representing a HG/SS group with over 200 members. I can't speak for all of us, but everyone that's weighed in hates this story. Why the hell did you have to do this to us? We get enough teasing and flack on the internet for liking the HG/SS realtionship. Now this?

Severus is beyond being a bastard, and Hermione is like what one reviewer say- a piece of used toilet paper. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, I can't believe that anyone that "claims" to like the SS/HG relationship would write such a horrible piece.

This is so unfair. You seem to have a flair for writing and yet you go do this. That is so un-cool. What would make you even think that a fan that likes SS/HG, would enjoy a story like this. And if you feel this is realistic, well despite my anger and sadness at this piece-I feel sorry for you.

I can tell you that this story was voted hands doen the most hated SS/HG ever. And that's saying something.

Do real HG/SS fans a favor, and next time go write a realistic HG/RW fic.

You're really a major disappointment.

Well it's nice to have friends that come to your defense I guess. Why is it that the author and her friends can't understand that yes-we do get the story. And just think it's a crappy one. You want reasons-here they go:

This fic appears to be going for a "realistic" view of a co-dependent realtionship. All well and good but if we're going for realism let's go:

1) Hermione is 16 or 17 and hell yeah it makes a difference. Hello, she's a student and he's a Professor-yet Hogwarts gives HG a room so she can be near Severus. Oh yeah real realistic.

2) Albus is a total jackass. One of his lead people is bringing whores right into tthe school. Can anyone say "You'd be Fired" A personal life is one thing-but I would hope that as in the real world, this would be serious charges.

3) Hermione stands there and watches Severus blow his load with another woman. And in HG's own bed. Realism-real life-I would imagine that unless you're totally catonic, you'd do something whether a human or Witch. Standing there and letting him finish?? Yeah OK

4) Severus is not only a bastard but he's lost all of his marbles. Yeah he wants to hurt her -we get it. But to bring the women to his home knowing she'll catch him. Why doesn't he just ask HGr to join in and they can all have a nice little party.

In addition, this fic has made Hermione go insane from the fith year books to what is apparently the sixth year. Sure HG likes to do things right, and appears to have a soft heart. I got no indication that she's mentally ill and yup she damned sure is in this story. And she has no way out-if she leaves SS tries to commit suicide (oh he's some Professor), and if she tries to date another Severus will kill them. If this Severus behaves like this if you want to be realistic, you can be damned sure he's also beating the shit out of her. Oh right I forgot in this story abuse seems to mean he loves her. Hey he gives her roses.

And as for people not getting it, your last reviewer defending you doesn't get it. Would it make a difference if she was 40 and he was 60 or so. Repeat after me-Yes it would. A 40 year old is an adult. A 16 year old student is a child. Last time I looked that would make one hell of a difference. Unless and probably the case, the reviewer that made that inane comment is a teenager. Teenagers always believe that they are the same as grown women.

And the reviwer doesn't seem to get why HG/RW lovers or HG/SS lovers would like this fic. Well it's because Severus is made out to be the biggest jerkoff and shit around, and Hermione is acting like a used condom for Severus (doormat if you can't understand). If you don't like a ship and you have lots of HG/SS haters around, seeing the characters portrayed like this is a thrill Duh!

And as for the "I love Abuse Comment" (were you tring to be witty)? Well duh, anyone that likes this story apparently likes abuse of the worst type-rape of the soul.

So do you get why the story is not liked by the vast majority of the reviewers? If not I suggest that the last supporter/friend and the author actually look at the reviews. Maybe you'll get a clue as to why the story's not liked.

*sighs and bangs my head against the wall* Why don't most of these people get it?

Life isn't black and white. Even the best of people can have something wrong with them. In this case, it's an intriguing blend of mental illnesses. Every character in the book has issues. And, the books never really give us much about the characters and their lives, do they? [Well, except Harry. I know more about him than I need to. :p] No one knows what happens in their lives outside of school. In Canon, it's obvious that Hermione overcompensates.

Can I just ask a favor from anyone that reads reviews before a fic? Please, please, please take the warnings into consideration. Also, OOCness has been talked about to death. Heh, I'm overprotective and it's not even my fic. :p

And can I just ask (even though I don't expect an answer) how some of the reviewers got the vibe that HG/DM or HG/RW or whatever would just love the basis for this fic? Because, I know that I just *love* abuse. Love it, love it, love it. In fact, when I get married, I hope that I find someone that's ill too so we can bask in our destructive behavior together. Woo! [Sarcasm.]

*sighs* And now I feel better. Ooh, and I have seen those fics Tyger was ranting about - the ones that are blatant ripoffs of Romeo and Juliet.

Ooh, I get it now! Why so many people are angry with this fic not only for the problems but also because she's 16/17. They're ignoring the "happy" fics that other writers have out where the characters are in that age bracket. Honestly, would it be better if she was 40 and he was, what, 80? Or 20-60? Just curious.

Oh wonderful. Now we're all going to be lambasted again for liking HG/SS together, thanks to this fic.

Damnit Tigerlily what were you thinking writing this fic like this. I know you say you don't hate the HG/SS relationship and I happen to like your other stories but, this story definately shows SS/HG in the most negative light I've ever seen.

I know you say it happens in real life and it does, but in fanfic I've never seen SS this abusive and HG this pitiful when they're already in a relationship. That's the key. They're there already.

Do you realize you have SS screwing other women in HG's and his bed and HG stands there and watches? Hell a human would go for blood, and HG is a witch. No stupify? No other hex to stop him? She actually lets him get his rocks off with another woman in her bed? And it's happened many times? What the hell!

HG thinks Ss loves her. Bullshit. He thinks of her as his piece of meat, That's it. Otherwise he'd never be as cruel as this where she always finds him cheating. But right, he's going to kill another man for touching her (you want realism-in real life he'd kill her too). He's a sick fuck. He'll keep her with him and faithful by killing anyone she touches, and by trying to kill himself if she leaves.

And HG will be dead or in a crazy house by the time she's 20, if she's with him in this story.

There is no HG/SS story I can think of that was so disrespecting to the characters and so OCC. I'm really sad you felt the need to write this.

Well at least the HG/SS haters will have a story they enjoy. Oh goody.

The one person that claims to like this, likes this for the wrong reasons, lol.

I won't be removing your review but I will respond. I do not hate Hermione Granger and Severus Snape being together. In fact they're my favorite Harry Potter Genre pairing. This fiction in reality was an experiment [Its my second HG/SS Fiction People] that though some people get most don't and have reacted badly to. I however am proud of the way it turned out but this wasn't meant to promote HG/SS hate.

I ask that you don't use this fiction of an example of that because then I would be forced to remove it from AFF.net and only leave it up at other locations.

Again though many disagree with this story this in no way was suppose to promote HG/SS hate...

I love the story!! This story is probably the true Severus and Hermione. A abusive drunken bastard, and a pathetic insecure stupid woman. Love it!!! I have to say that this is my fav Hermione and Severus story ever (I usually read the ones that have bad reviews). You should be proud because I know you're one of us. If you're not please join. P.S.-Would love to read more about this and have a few ideas. Maybe HG could catch him in bed with Ginny or one of the other students or teachers, and than beg his forgiveness for interupting him. LOL LOL You have made my day. And I'm so glad you were able to put this one over on those SS/HG fans. You have hopefully opened their eyes.

Actually, I can understand how you feel about your story (wanting to defend), but I'll tell you right out I don't like the story and it has nothing to do with you or your writing.

The problem is that I imagine almost all reader of SS/HG fanfic are women. And deep down most of us identify with HG in some way. Which in a strange sort of way, when SS cheats on HG, it's almost like he's cheating on us.

Of course the way you wrote this story happens in real life. I know people who have been in situations like this and have stayed (not a good idea). Real life people cheat, real life people don't die of broken hearts and I'm sure while it happens in real life, real people don't usually kill themselves for love the way it happens in fanfic.

Fanfic is an escape where yeah we want dashing heroes and romantic love. Where the hero is true and remains true to the leading lady in this case, Hermione.

In this story you had Severus be the ultimate cheat. He brought his women back to the abode he shares with HG. He knows that she has and will catch him having sex with another. And from your fic it appears he's enjoying the sex immensely (he fell on her like a starving man). In most fics if you notice, if SS does cheat, he never enjoys it that much. At least not as much as when he's with HG.

In this story I got the feeling that the sex was just as good with the whores as with HG. It was just too much. Does it happen in real life like this-of cousre. But I like some sort of escape in the fanfic world. And this story just made me feel crappy. And my feeling is that's what a lot of reviwers and readers are feeling.

I suppose I would be hurt and offended just like you (probably)are but, if you've read widely in the SS/HG world you would see that this type of story just makes people feel bad. And this story is far more extreme in the cheating arena than any I have read in the HG/SS kingdom. It really made me feel bad. And I suspect lots of other people too. Sometimes too much of a dip in real world issues are just a little to much in fanfic.

Emails are private and person and if you've read a few of the previous reviews NOT all of them are bad. And we conversed more in emails. Not that its any of your business. I've also recieved a few emails from those that didn't review here saying I should take the story down. And again attacking my character saying that just because YOU think you see me as putting these two characters in more realistic situations and patting myself on the back for it... well again thats your opinion but it has nothing to do with the story. You're talking about me.

And how would you feel if you spent time working on a story and was really proud with the outcome and yet when you posted you get such a backlash from it. I mean I understand other people's points of view but I was really proud of the way this story turned out. I was honestly surprised at the reaction it has gotten so far. So telling me that I'm sounding like a defiant child... well I think I'm just being human... I'm a person who is just defending the work that they're proud of.

And by the way, ypu have a lot of hits but take a look at your star rating. I think most people jsut thought the story wasn't worth reviewing. But you only kave like three stores which means lots of people gave this only 1 or 2 stars. This noard is generous the way the star ratings work, Most stories have five stars, this has three.

People just don't like this story. Why belittle the people that don't?

If these people have e-mailed you and said the story was good, why don't these people review?

And making SS a shit, and Hermione a weak idiot doesn't make it more mature than other stories. In fact the opposite. It seems as though you're making them as OCC as possible, putting them in unrealistic situations, and than patting yourself on the back because it's mature and people don't get it.

And who asked you to take the story down? You repeat that in all of your posts, and you sound like a defient child, determined to "keep your story posted" And by the way I'm sure you think that by your "I'm doing what I want and leaving the story posted" you think you're being mature and bold. Actually, it just seems silly. No one mentioned taking it down, it just appears from your star rating and reviews that people just don't like the story. Has that even occured to you?

I've read each and every review... and I see that they're upset that I've placed their beloved characters in this situation. But this happens in real life why not in fanfiction? Severus isn't ALWAYS the dashing hero, and just because you've never read those fictions doesn't mean they don't exsist.

And don't belittle the few people that have identified with my story because its actually happened to them and they've been Hermione at one point in their lives... but because they know how it truly feels and that I've written exactly what they were going through at the time, they respect the story. I respect other people's opinions, however...

I do NOT feel that because they don't like the story it gives them the right to say that I should never write again or that these characters would never do this. And that because SO many people disagree with this story that it there must be something wrong with it. How many hits has this fiction recieved and yet how many reviews have actually been left?

Anytime an author has to come on like three times to explain or defend a story-something is wrong.

You mention stories where SS cheats, HG finds out and he kills himself, but I don't recall reading any of those. Not to mention I doubt if in those stories he was bring whores into his own room that he shares with HG.

The characters are completely OCC buy you said that yourself.

Don't worry, there are lots of people who feel sorry when a story is flamed and will come and leave good reviews, Not to mention I'm sure the HG/DM or HG/RW fans will love this story and leave good reviews.

This is your story and you do what you want as you should, if it was my story instead of getting angry and rebutting, I would take a step back and see if perhaps the reviewers have a point at least in some way.
