Reviews for The Death of a Soul

    Very good chapter.

I can't believe that eveyone thinks that it's all okay. Snape hasn't a clue as to what he has just done, and things are not going to improve. EVERYONE thinks that as the months pass that Harry will just be resigned to his fate and finally convince himself that this is the way he wants it. What NO ONE sees is that just doesn't work that way. He will NEVER forgive Snape or Dumbledore. EVER.

Also, his two friends are not going to be very helpful. I think it would be wise to have Harry finally snap and tell them both in a very loud voice what he thinks of their "Friendship" and "help". I believe that he'll look upon them with betrayal, especially Ron because he knows that he had a hand in splitting him and Ginny up.

Most of all Harry isn't going to break. His spirit is intact... strength of will, but I think that everyone should be prepared to find someone who is cold and unfeeling to everyone around him. To cope, Harry should shut his feelings off and I picture him as turning into a type of Snape like character. Cruel and harsh to eveyone his eyes don't sparkle with laughter but rage, when he would laugh it is with a cruel and enraged edge. He no longer cares about what they think and his actions are out rageous and what he wants to do. HIs heart has become Ice towards all, except Ginny and Dobby. And he can't have Ginny cause of the contract so why should all have joy?

He doesn't fear punishment or pain from Snape (as a way to snap him back to his old self) because if your life is like a living death and what you consider hell why care? And he will NEVER touch Severus Snape in a sexual manner unless he's drugged or Harry KNOWS that it is never out of love. So Snape will have to drug him... I can see them trying that as a way to "Cure" Harry and get him back to his "old" self....

He doesn't become a dark lord but he's going to make sure all in the school and the wizarding world regret the farce of the wedding. After all, the rituals have been fulfilled so why should he keep quiet about what he really thought of it, the people gathered or even the fact that he was FORCED to get married? He was told that DURING the wedding he had to go through the motions of accepting the gifts and stuff, act like he was happy and the marriage night. NOW, that is over so he no longer has to pretend.

I think it would be a good idea that Harry in secret I might add, goes to his vaults and meets with his goblin manager and asks them to have them go over the "marriage contract" and have the said manager explain any and all points that he doesn't understand as well as have them look for any way for him to have it broken, annulled or considered voided invalid... He'll pay huge amounts for this after all his inheritance is still his own to do with as he sees fit and Snape can't touch so why not? I think that Harry is going to devote his time to gaining power in the magical world so he can change the laws. He's tried doing what they've asked, he's been humble and all that has gotten him is a doormat future and a life of unhappiness. His personal vow of making sure that no one else has to go through what he has been forced to.

He starts out to make their life hell. IF he has to have one then they all should too. Maybe he sues Hermione and Dumbledore. HEck maybe he finds out that the Weasleys out him a life debt or even owe money to him and he decides to have Ginny. Make her his lover? There is nothing that says in the contract he can't have one only that his body is used as a vessel for the "spouse" and vice versa... Making sure that Snape can't hurt or touch her in any way or he gets in trouble.

I saw this as future chapters...

as to all the other reviews I've read the majority of them think Harry is just going to fall in love with Snape as the weeks go by and he can't escape. I find this very annoying since this story just doesn't seem to even remotely go in that direction.

YOu've kept Harry's character and actions true how I think he would act if this had truelly occured in the book and I sallute you on that. I also think that Snape's actions fit for this new chapter and are in character. Snape is deluded into thinking that Harry has feelings for him and can't accept that that isn't true because then he'd have to accept that no matter what Harry isn't going to ever love him. The one thing that no contract or ritual or potion or trickery can make happen. He'll always wonder if it's true if Harry suddenly came about. (Maybe fear for his life)

Draco seems to be the only one that sees the train wreck and is bracing himself for the explosion but whatever respect he had for Snape is gone I think. I hope that Draco is going to be the ally to Harry on helping him get payback for his ruined life and maybe help Ginny?

Keep up the great work and I want to read more. I so hate stories where Harry is forced into a marriage or to do something for the greater good and then ends up resigned to his fate and then becomes happy... always thought that was fake....

Well no wonder Severus pissed you off! He pissed me off too! I mean, he's all like 'i care so much about harry and want him to be ok after i just totally tramuatized him, oh wait-i think i got a boner'. *covers her harry potter plushies' eyes*.
Also, a silent harry is a scary harry (a broken hero), im so worried that he's gonna kill himself. If i was him id run away- dont care where- just anywhere. or kill snape, whichever presents itself as an option first.

What might have been even sadder than harry being tricked and used -Again-(p.s i love how well written your harry is, the part where you describe him staring into nothing is heart-wrenching) was the fact that he had to walk into the great hall after what happened (only one night to recoup?!)! I liked that he wasn't exactly mean to hermine and ron, but he wasn't pleasant with them either. Great job! and when he said 'don't touch me' to ron, i cried-again. thats like the sixth time this story has made me do that!

Also, draco is starting to worry me. As if him kissing harry at the wedding wasn't onimous enough, he has to be all 'amused" and creepy in this chapter. and i still dont understand the whole 'reading between the lines thing', my brain hurts.
Question time! I wonder if Severus is ever gonna talk to dumbledore, cuz i simply cannot wait to see what dumbledore thinks, or how severus will explain himself.
Thank you , thank you, thank you, thank you, so much for writing this story, and take as long as you want to write the next chapter, you totally deserve it. in order to thank you even more, i will keep trying to draft more readers to this story, which is so addictive to me it should be a cult.

Hmmmm.... I'm thinking that Malfoy did something to the lotion. There just seemed to be such a difference in the way Snape was thinking before and after he noticed the lotion warming up. And the fact that Malfoy was the only one that wasn't surprized by Harry's reaction tells me that he had something to do with it. Who knows (besides you ;)), maybe I'm wrong?
I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this story! I love coming to this site and seeing that you've updated.
There are several things that make this story different (and better for me) from all those other forced marriage fics. Including, but not limited to: Harry is not gay (I enjoy slash as much as any girl, but it's not the only thing out there), Harry is not secretly in love with Snape (I just don't see that as being realistic, even if Harry was gay), Harry does not slowly "fall" for Snape as the marriage progresses (well, I guess I'm hoping that that one is the case, but from where we are in the story now, it doesn't seem very likely).
Things that I'm hoping for as this story progresses: Harry does not turn evil and go to the "dark" side, Harry does not turn on his friends and people that actually care about him (this does not include stalkers and/or husbands), maybe we'll see or hear from Ginny (what happened to her anyways?). Well, you of course are the author and you say how the story goes (and you've done a fantastic job of it so far), so feel free to ignore what I want for the story and keep writing what you want. :D

I can understand how hard writing this story is-it's fantastic!

And so tragic. That Snape really wants Harry and Harry can't see it. Is it going to destroy Harry. . . or Snape? Will there be anything left before long. Since your AU did not include a mind/emotion connection with the marriage ceremony, Snape has no idea how badly he f*** up. And Harry is too mad-trapped in his own head to see what is really happening around him. That last snipped about Draco bodes ill for the future. What amazing plot bunnies you have hopping around in your head!!!!

Thanks. I hope the future chapters are not so hard to write!

This is an interesting story, I am really curious as to where you are going with it. Doesn't seem like it will be a love story, possible though. Maybe a Harry joins voldie fic? Or perhaps a Harry gots pissed and tells the world to fuck off fic? I am sure your ideas are better than mine and can't wait for you to update.

I wonder when Snape will figure out exactly what he's gotten himself into. He doesn't seem to have much of a clue at all. As a matter of fact, what he seems to want (physically, emotionally) most from Harry will be denied to him forever. In all of this, Hermione, Ron and.... I reluctantly suspect Draco... seem to be on Harry's side. Maybe Voldemort will kill Snape and free Harry. ;) Why on earth did Ron and Hermione defer to Snape when they went after Harry? That seems odd to me, maybe I don't get it. Is Harry a slave in this scenario, or a spouse? He still didn't eat, and I don't blame him. He's going to get pretty skinny if he keeps this up, but Snape deserves to see what he has and is still doing to Harry, and he needs to find some loathing for himself as well. Unless he's just completely nuts, and then he might never figure it out. I don't need to tell you that I'd love to see some retribution happen.

Snape was such a contradiction in this chapter--I can see why it took so much out of you. He thinks to himself that he wants Harry's forgiveness, but then seems completely unaware he is digging a bigger hole in Harry's already ghost-like soul when he takes away his husbands volition and has sex with him anyway. You never write easy stories and I imagine there will only more more horror for Harry with some hope for the future? I do not recall that Draco Malfoy has made an appearance yet and the mention of him at the end intrigued me. I thought Harry's friends were to support him and felt they had no other choice, but why are they looking to Snape for guidance if they should follow Harry from the Great Hall? As difficult as this story is to read, I still want to know what happens next.

Hi you probably get lots of reviews, and I admit I hardly ever give any but I am so addicted to your story. This chapter brought tears to my eyes. How much can Harry take? You have no idea how excited I get when I open Adult FF and find that you have updated. I can't wait for the next one. And yes, I agree with you, Dumbledore, and Snape are making me want to kick their "behinds". However, Snape is a somewhat pathetic character as well, looking for affection and going the wrong way about it. It's such an emotive story. I am loving it. I reiterate, I can't wait for the next installment. I love your writing as well. So often people brush over the characters emotions and reactions, aiming to get to the action (or what event is happening). I love that this is all really about reactions to events, thoughts, feelings. I think that this is probably harder to write, but so much more satisfying (from my point of view) to read. Thank you for this story. A fan who is anxiously awaiting for that little thrill I get when I notice an update.

I thought Harry had gone catatonic there for a bit. This was worse than the wedding night. Does Snape really believe that repeatedly raping his "husband" is going to make him fall in love??!! I'm still waiting for the explosion from Harry. And that was an interesting little end with Draco. Things that make you go, "Hhmmm..." Keep up the good work. I'm REALLY looking forward to the next chapter.

Thank you for a story that doesn't have Harry falling head over heels for Severus the minute they are forced into a marriage. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this story -- even if it does bring me to tears with each chapter. I can't believe the way the Wizarding world is treating Harry and expect him to stil be their saviour. I hope he gives them a massive surprise. They are more likely to get a Dark Lord that makes Old Voldy look like Shirley Temple. I look forward to more chapters.
