I think Snape's response to Hermione's recitation is entirely within character... he's angry, hurt, and does what he knows best... he strikes back while holding tight to his illusions. In this case, that it wasn't he who'd ended the relationship without the possibility of a future. If he ever considers her perspective, he will realize that she was only a teenager who'd had an illicit affair with a man who didn't love her. What else was she really to do? I'm a bit surprised that her parents, being older and a bit wiser, didn't counsel that Snape had the right to know he'd fathered a child. I'll be interested to see what happens when he speaks with Hadrian, and just how vindictive you want to take him. The courts in my state are filled with parents who use their children as pawns to hurt the other parent.

Oh boy is he angry!!! and oh boy! does he ever have a right to be. Mind you, I would have been very disappointed if Hermione hadn't been a strong and independent woman. LOL I can't wait to see what happens next. I hope/know he won't take it out on his son. Thanks for sharing with us and I'm looking forward to the next great chapter.

What a treasure! I love the struggle Snape is having with all this! I really hope he and Hermoine get together for some post-affair shagging(hint, hint). Keep up the great writing, mi chica! Killer K :)

While I enjoyed Snape's ruminations in Chapter 4, my favorite part is truly Hermione's opening lines. What a beautiful way to puncture Severus' fantasy balloon!

What a great piece of introspection Snape took in this chapter. Well done! I can't wait to read the particulars of the meeting. Thanks for sharing your story.

Ch 4/3 - I hope Hadrian doesn't hold it against Severus that he never saw him before - 'cuz he didn't know about him. Poor Severus, it really isn't fair that Harry and Ron and everyone else knew about Hadrian before he did. So he's going to see Hadrian the next day in class - and all Hadrian's housemates are probably already asking him if he's related to Professor Snape because of his name. Hermione really was cutting things close, to not tell Severus sooner! Please update soon.

Let's sincerely hope that in this case the sins of the father are not revisited on the son... This is a very fun set up and premise, and Hermione's defense is already in place. He told her he wanted nothing more to do with her. Boy, I'm already eager to see what you do with this next... and HUFFLEPUFF! Brilliant!
