Well, the story seems too harsh to seem somehow "realistic", that means canon-near. But I liked your Severus and it would explain why the canon-Draco is such a wimp (sorry, but he is everything but a master of pain). Well, abused children seldom are able to handle pain appropriately. I'm curious to read where this is going.

Katalla--The translation looks good. It's so flattering to see a translation. I sort of translated some of the comments. If you ever want to ask my intention on any of the story, feel free to e-mail and ask.

I'm so glad to see this piece continue! I've always had a soft spot for Draco and this story really affects me emotionally. I love the emotional bond that has been developed between Draco and Severus. I also like that you have not changed Severus or Draco's siding; they are still on the dark side of the fence in the Harry Potter universe. Draco still hates Harry. This is refreshing since this situation seems so possible; it could very well have happened behind closed doors and in unwritten chapters. I've waited for this story to continue for a very long time and hope that your muses and free time allow for you to update again soon. Thank you for this story! =D

    Chapter 7:
Ah, comfort again! Draco's hero comes along and takes him away. Good!
Buth then the extent of Lucius evilness is becoming evident once more.
What kind of father can do that to a child??? The beating is bad enough, the indoctrination of being worthless is even worse - because the wounds on the mind probably will never heal. But if's that's not enough, Lucius deliberately makes Draco sick. WAH! One night at Azkaban isn't enough! Give ME a cane...

I'm curious if Draco will get cured later on and how. And will Narcissa really help? What's her role, anyway? Is she intimidated too? Or is she really THAT cool? What kind of mother can watch the abuse over years and do nothing?

    Chapter 6:
What terrified me was the description of Draco having to wait for the coming punishment. And that he finally realized that Lucius was doing it on purpose.
I think everybody knows that kind of feeling of waiting for something really bad to happen, nothing can prevent it. The fear is dreadful. And it gets worse the longer it lasts. *sigh*

I liked Draco's halluncinations of Snape being there. Although it was just an imagination, it helped Draco through his horrible beating. Ah yes, the human mind can be very helpful at times.

Now I definitely hate Lucius! And I want some severe punishment soon for him!
If you let me, I can think up some gruesome things *evil glint in eyes*

    Chapter Five:
Brave Draco! It made me sigh deep when he made that decision! He couldn't do anything else.

So that was your original ending? I'm quite satisfied with it! The five chapters explains a lot. Draco's behaviour, his hate of Harry, his hate of Mudbloods and so on. Whilst reading the books, I always imagined something like this anyhow, I don't know why.

The original ending is very sad, but quite realistic. And although it's horrible, it still gives me hope. Maybe Lucius' punishments won't be as severe as before, he has a witness now. Severus will keep an open eye! And maybe Draco will learn to say "No!" But this is nonsense of course. Someone like Lucius can't help to go on... He will be more subtle, and he will terrify Draco even more. *deep sigh*
But you promised a new ending. Not canon, I'm happy to hear. For if it was, the abuse would continue. In book 6 and 7, Draco still tries desperately to please his father.

Now I'm curious about your new ending. Will Lucius get what HE deserves (I'm quite bloodthirsty now)? Will Severus be there to help Draco? And, what's more important, will Draco be able to knock his father off his podest and will he see him as the abuser he really is? Will he be able to say "No?" Will he be able to confide to "outsiders"?

*Screams* Does Lucius really deserve Draco's love and respect? Love, ok, a kid can't help loving his parent, regardless what he does. But respect? Ack! Sorry, I just forgot that Draco is 12 years old. But I could imagine, in years to come, the love will remain, but the respect will be gone.

Grr, I wish I could burn Lucius's back a little. Just a little...

    Chapter Three:
Brr... I don't think it's a good idea of Draco to let his backside heal without a healer. I don't want to imagine how the skin will look like after healing on its own. Argh. You never mentioned it, but I hope Severus gave him some ointment for the wounds? Everytime Draco sits down I flinch because I fear the clothes will stick like glue to his skin. OUch, ouch, ouch!

Hm, I'm curious when Draco will see that he doesn't deserve any punishment. I'm sure it will take a long time, if ever. He's just a 12 year old kid and he never experienced anything else. When you are 12, the word of parents is law. And everything a parent does is right. I'm happy that you gave Draco the chance to find out that there can be a different way of life...
