Sugarplumfairy: I used Catholic as an example. Fact of the matter is, no, Rowling has not indicated they are religious people in any sense....but a wedding, no matter what type, short of going to a courthouse is religious in some sense. Rowling has said that there will be a wedding in book seven...until she shows us what a HP universe wedding looks like, NO ONE has the right to judge any representation of a wedding in a HP story. I think most ppl use Pagan and Wiccan customs and ceremonies because they are the most widely known non-Christian religions in the world, and typically one does not associate witches and wizards with Christianity.

I absolutely love this fanfic. Hermione/Snape pairings are my favorite and this story certainly delivers. I love the idea that they were destined for each other. It is also wonderfully hilarious; I cannot get the image of Albus leading a Conga line out of my head! As for the

(17)Chapter 16. Uh oh things are starting to clear. And not in a happy way either.
I see an overprotective Lucius in the wings. Squibs have a hatered for magic like wizards have a lower opinion of squibs.

I don't blame Lucius for wanting to protect his child. Deatheater or no. No father worth their soul would neglect a cherished son and leave him unprotected. This has got to be bringing up difficulties for Lucius true I might hate the guy But I don't hate him THAT much to be placed in such an unenviable position....

Sorry, you lost me with the Wiccan handfasting ceremony. I just can't stand it when people force religion (any religion) into HP fanfic. Sorry, but it really grates on me. Also, the ceremony itself was purely descriptive, no hint of any feelings on either part and it felt like it had been coppied and pasted from a Wiccan website or something. It felt a little like a shopping list. Sorry, but that's just my honest impression. Then there's those pesky Americanisms ("thru"?!! "wrote me", please, in Britain we don't miss out words in our sentences like "to". The characters are British, not American).

takemeaway: poppycock. You seem to imply that there are only Catholic and Pagan wedding ceremonies in the world. Of course our leading couple wouldn't go into a Catholic (or any other) church, but what on earth makes you think that wizards in JKR's world are Pagans?! To impose a handfasting onto the HP world is wishful thinking. So far not only has JKR not given us an example of a wedding she has not given one minute implication that the wizarding population of Britain is the least bit religious. Crow-barring Paganism into it for the sake of a beautiful wedding is lazy.

A wizarding wedding might be entirely secular in nature (which I think most likely due to the utter lack of religion in the books), there are also traditional religious ceremonies from all over the world for fanfic authors to draw inspiration from; Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Sikh, etc.

Not pouting, smiling while writing the review this time. Great chapter but once more I find myself having more questions than answers. Why would the Malfoy's deny another son? Was he mad and therefore put into a muggle hospital. Perhaps because of the treatment he was dealt, he is now trying to get his revenge? Theories only, which is why the story is so good, because of all the twists and turns. Best wishes,
