Good start! I am glad to know you will be updating every few days as I am already anxious to read more. But, might I suggest putting the story in the Severus Snape/Hermione Granger section? It would make the story easier for others to find. I know you said their are other ships in this story, but, if the main ship is this one, then I doubt anyone will complain.

Just a suggestion... Love the first two chapters!

"Did I do a good job? Is the story running well? Are people actually enjoying it?"

Yes, Yes and Yes! There's enough tension and awkwardness between Severus and Hermione to keep it interesting. (from the unfinished kiss) And jealous Snape? Yum!

    Bloody excellent!
bloody bloody excellent (scuse me I'm a Brit)

I don't know what I expected but not this! I promise you I laughed loud enough to cause my roommate to doubt my sanity, in fact I think I still have a stitch!

Brilliant beginning, love the sour, strong and bedamned Snape (as opposed to the misundersatood and rather comical Snape I keep bumping into) juxtaposed with a more powerful yet still good Hermione who seems to plot (and writhe) like the Slytherin within....

    Great!

I've only read ch1 so far but I have to tell you that you are very talented and very funny. I was cringing at Snape storming in on Hermione while she was "at it". Brilliant.

Indigo Girls. "In Love With Your Ghost". Tack those points to Ravenclaw please;)
I JUST found this fic and it is simply WONDERFUL. Delightfully in character, yet believably ... well... not. Thank you for posting it complete, rather than making us wait for updates:)

It appears part of Chpt 11 is missing...please please please add the missing parts. It's hard to go to chpt 12 without the transition. Otherwise, I'm enjoying reading your story very very very much. :-)

I have another objection to this fanfic. Why, when Hermione has a perfectly leginitimate reason to be mad at Severus, would anyone in their right mind defend him? I mean, he basically has mindblowing sex with her, tells her coldly to get dressed because his mother's coming, and then forces her out of his room. Next he jumps all over her for a minor statement, calls her a whore, does not apologize for it, makes her promise never to have his children, and doesn't show her any obvious affection in front of his family. This is followed by her overhearing a conversation with him telling his mother that he'll never marry her and that he doesn't see their relationship lasting. This is a very, very straightforward conversation. There really is no room for misinterpretation; there is only room for motives. Perhaps he was talking about him being unworthy, but it is still insulting to her any way you look at it. (He's worthy enough to sleep with her but not worthy enough to marry her?)

The scene with her friends felt utterly fake. I can understand Draco defending him, but no one else should have even considered his point of view on the information she gave them. They accused her of being childish for not wanting to speak to the man that had broken her heart moments ago by basically treating her like he was ashamed of her, like she was his dirty secret. He never did tell her about his inability to concieve children and he has let her have the wrong impression throughout the whole scene. He then implies that her eavesdropping and the resulting anger is somehow wrong, when he spent the entire first part of the fanfiction eavesdropping and being jealous of her friendship with Sirius. After she told her friends she was pregnant this should have garnered more sympathy, but their reaction was a confusing barrage of emotions that seemed utterly misplaced.

And the major thing I object to is Hermione's reaction to all of this. If a man had treated me that way, and if I weren't a weak person as Hermione isn't, then I would be angry. No, angry is too weak of a word. I would be manaically enraged. I would be so insanely mad at him that I would yell at him for a solid month. The man treated her abominably. He talked down to her, deliberately misled her, and treated her like a shameful afterthought. He never justified himself, never explained his emotions or reactions to her, and expected her to just 'know' magically, I guess, why he acted the way he did. He held by turn ridiculously high and ridiculously low opinions on the continuation of their relationship. I would have started screaming at him the first time anything like this happened and left him the second time. Even if Hermione is reading him wrong, it is still his fault for not correcting her or explaining. Any way you look at it, this entire thing can be laid at his doorstep.

P.S. These two chapters have sent your rating down to a 3 out of a possible 10. Sry.

Unbelievable. Absolutely amazing story. I read it in one sitting, which means I am definitely now up way past my bedtime. Oh well. I don't have to get up tomorrow. Anyway. I thought Severus and Hermione were perfectly in character, loved Harry and Draco and Ginny and Sirius and Severus' family and just about everyone. I especially thought that the various ways they managed to screw up their relationship with each other were both original and totally realistic. It seems to me that if that situation were to occur, the way you've written it is exactly how they would react, which just goes to show what an incredible grasp of both human nature and characterization you have. Well done.

I've just finished the first chapter and already I'm in love! It's well-written, and though I've seen similar plots your direction is refreshing. Well done.
