Reviews for Memoirs of a Serpent's Son

I'm sorry about the late review! I just woke up at 3:30 pm E.T. But I think it was expected since I slept at a staggering 4:30 am E.T. (Yeah, a bit of problem with insomnia here) After reading the last two chapters, I decided to (finally) eat my breakfast/lunch/dinner of spicy fried noodles and some rice. Yum!

    Okay, enough small talk...

Anyway, here are the combined reviews for chapter 67 and 68.

    Review: Chapter 67

The aftermath of the ambush was just what I imagined it to be.

The confusion, the blame, the grief and anxiety... it's all there. I can almost feel the air presaged with those emotions as if I was also with them in Grimmauld Place. If that was what I felt (to think that I'm only a reader and hence, comparable to looking through a spy-glass), then surely the mounting tension must be doubly nerve-wracking for the lot present there.

Now that explains why the three adults were absent during the ordeal. Well, at least, they were still helpful in the end. I must say, that was a sly move for Tonks. She is really the master of diguise.

About Ginny, now that I'm thinking about it, she and Harry have some similarities. They both jump into action without really thinking of the consequences. I don't know why Hermione and Ron let her roam, ALONE, behind the building. Tsk, tsk! I guess Hermione wasn't able to foresee the dangers.

It couldn't be helped anyway. That unfortunate event must happen.

When Draco started talking about Snape's odd actions, I had to reread chapter 66 to know just how odd he was.

And my, was he ever odd.

He didn't attempt to hex both boys with an Unforgivable Curse even though he had the ability to do that, and he even stopped Bellatrix in hexing them! He could have easily put them under the Imperius Curse to retrieve the Cup, but he didn't. He must be a "good nut" after all...

Although I'm still not quite sure about that. There are just too many factors affecting the outcome.

That was some bold move, Draco admitting his horrible ordeal with Nott and him being responsible for killing that son of a ***** . But then again, this is a war, and he had already divested his trust with the Order. There is definitely no room for secrets anymore.

It must be hard for Harry to know that Neville couldn't be properly buried now.

About your A/N regarding Ginny, I knew about that. Of course, Ginny's character is not apt for nonsense actions (although she has a bit of that, judging in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"). But then again, I have to admit her actions are usually driven by emotions, which, as I think about it, is not very sensible either.

Oh...a meeting with Dumbledore? Can't wait for that bit. It's about time he appears! I miss that old wheezer!

    Review: Chapter 68

I feel sorry for Luna. She must really miss 'the great lump.'

Finally, Draco realized that there is nothing to be jealous about. He was the only one who was bloody able to talk...wait, scrap that...to be with Harry and have some connection with him. Just look at Harry's two friends! They couldn't even get close to him!

Aw! That tiny peck on the lips was sweet!

Huhu! I miss Dumbledore! Finally, I get to read about him again! That glimpse of conversation was enlightening, however short it was. No wonder Florean Fortescue was kidnapped. A Keeper of the Histories! Wow! Voldemort sure knows who would be of some importance to his plan.

And again...you cut the chapter short.

Sigh! You still haven't lost your cliffhanger touch, Daft Fear.

Can't wait for chapter 69. I just can't! And by the way, I'm still looking forward to the Harry-on-Draco action.

Before I close this, let me congratulate you in advance for a job well done. You have managed to keep me glued on this story. Thank you for sharing it with me and the rest of the community who followed this. *sniff* Ah, I hate to see this coming to a close. But it can't be helped, eh?

PS: Speaking of HP, it's barely 5 days before the movie premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in my country! I can't wait! Oh my...I have to start saving enough money for the movie.

PS PS: It's barely 15 days before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows gets released. Well, in your case, make it 16 days, since you're in Canada. I hope you would be able to beat your deadline...and I hope I will be able to save enough money to buy the book.

PS PS PS: I'm sorry if this review is too long again.

This story is somewhat confusing at times but i think a lot of what yu siad makes since and some of it could possibly happen in the 7th book. Probably not the one thing i want to happen, but some of it could. Great job on portraying the emotions through your writing. I feel as though i can feel everything the characters are feeling and it takes a lot for a story to do that to me usually. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Numb is the right word to describe this chapter.... It was.. difficult to digest, Draco killing a men and facing the guilt and all... I'd say that numb is a perfect word for it...

The Snidget was the orgianl bird that was used in Quidditch when the game was first invented, then later changed to the snitch because the birds i think became extinct with such over usage for the game.

Another wonderful chapter! :) I can't wait to see how this winds down. I swear, finishing that long fic your whole life seems to stand still as it all comes to a close. So very strange how it feels, LOL>

Anyway, I hope you are well and I look forward to how this plays out in the end :) I am glad that Dumbledore has finally stepped in to explain a thing or two.

Sorry again for the double review. This is my condensed comment for chapters 65 ad 66.

    Review: Chapter 65
You played up the first ten paragraphs pretty well. You successfully showed the fear of the inevitable in Harry's character.

Regarding the action sequence, it IS disturbing that most, if not all, the orphans were turned into Inferi. But then you reflected what war is clearly. It just shows how no one is safe in a war, that everyone, including innocent children, are used and abused by those in power just so they can successfully carry out their plan. And I have to agree, using children as mere tools is a very Voldemort thing to do.

In a way this little concept becomes an eye-opener. Despite this being set in a fantasy, it reflects what is happening in our world, most especially in war zones.

    Okay, back to the story....

Now, I wonder why no adult went in with them. Why are the minors the only ones who entered the orphanage?

    Review: Chapter 66
Wow. All I can say is, Ginny's so weak.

Despite the earlier warnings regarding her weaknesses, she still fell under one - and under the Imperius Curse to boot! So unfortunate.

I love the battle scene. I could almost smell chaos and fear while I was reading it a while ago.

    And...NEVILLE DIED? OMG 0_0 NO, YOU DIDN'T!!! OH I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!

*sniff* This is so tragic! But then there's no choice, is it? You really have to kill him in order to bring out the hero in him.

When I read Harry's woe, I can almost feel his pain. I nearly cried! It's really hard to lose a friend in a senseless battle.

Harry must be blaming himself for Neville's death. He must have felt that he wasn't strong enough, that his efforts fell short. Oh...the mental torture and pressure heightens! I feel sorry for him.

Can't wait for chapter 67. I just can't!!!! I have to know how the Order will face another loss.

i am crying....lots of tears rolling down my cheeks. you are right though if he is to die it would be a hero's death. i for one did not want him sharing a room with his parents.

sorry i haven't been reviewing lately... so just to let you know i am still with you on this journey and as always keep up the excellent work.

OMG... Neville is died... He really died a hero... But he is dead never the less...
Still can't believe, he is gone, dead, never to return, passed on, but he died a hero, on his own terms, like you said

You know, for one that read slowly and carefully, you are really hardworking, as you are making me to keep up too! Actually this is for ch.64...

For Ginny, I would guess that memories would be polyjuiced potion work, as she is wicked and cunning, and has so many lovers/fuck buddies, she can easily persuade others to polyjuice in Harry...if not, then she is always dreaming, and that started very very young....kind of...feeling she is really a whore...

For the death of order members and others, well, there can be two assumptions. Either it was released by Kingsley, or there is a spy inside the order. For one, I would guess that spy is Ginny. I just hate her so much in this series...

Maybe Harry needs to think of one way to calm Draco down, as well as his own...

*sniff* That was so sad. I love Neville so much, and it was horrible to see him die. But I completely understand your reasons for doing this, and I agree. I think he doesn't get as much attention in the books as he deserves, that's why I was so grateful for you while reading the last couple of chapters. You managed to describe him with love and sympathy (something I don't quite feel in the books) even through Draco's eyes. And although I hate it when people say "at least he died as a hero", here it does make a difference. Not for us, who mourn his death, but for him. He needed this revenge on Bellatrix (and everybody who ever thought he was useless, and let's face it, there were quite a few who thought that), just like you said, it was his choice. Thank you for making me angry at him and proud of him at the same time.
But I was almost dancing when Draco killed Nott, that bastard deserved to die painfully, thank you!!
BTW, my favourite sentence was: "The damn bitch had gone and gotten herself put under the Imperius Curse." That was so Draco, I really loved it. It must have been really hard to write this, I mean there was so much you had to pay attention to, so much going on at the same time. But I think you did great!
Oh, I love this story so much, I don't know what I'll do once it's over - I think I'll read it over and over again!!! :D
