Reviews for Sleep OverBy : black |
A well written Harry/Ginny adult story. Three things: lent is the past tense of lend; leaned (or maybe leant is the past tense of ‘to lean’. Too many other spelling errors, have somebody read it before you post, don’tcount on spell check. Last, I hated the end, withGinny leaving Harry hanging, not fair to either of them! And Ginny should have been at quidditch practice, too!
Okay, pet peeve time: spelling, spelling, spelling...and grammar! If the author has an editor, he/she didn’t do their job. While none of the mistakes were fatal to the story, they are distracting and often caused me to stop, go back, and reread, until I figured it out.
i don’t know if this is a British vs American English thing, but one usage that drives me crazy is ‘lent’; it is the past tense of lend, not the past tense of lean. That would be leant, or leaned.
Otherwise, good story about one way Harry and Ginny might have become a couple (always my favorite HP-verse pairing). My only complaint about the story line is the abrupt ending! Harry & Ginny went through a lot before they got together, I doubt either one of them would leave the other hanging if they had an option, at this stage, they’re trying to draw closer together, not frustrate each other!
Nice story, as good a start to the H/G relationship as any I’ve read. Again, editing is a problem, or whatever spell-check your using is filling in the wrong word here and there.
I’m a Yank, not a Brit, so I know there are some differences in spelling and usage, but one that I keep coming across, in more than one story, is “lent”. “Lent” is the past tense of “lend”; “leant” (or leaned) is the past tense of “lean”. It’s easy enough to read over or figure out, so it’s not a fatal error, but it’s still a distraction.
Keep writing, you’ve got a lot of potential, but have a couple of different sets of eyes give it a read through before you post!
