Ch. 12 Boy, that was the scariest thing of all. Those portraits have got to be the most incomprehensible thing of the HP universe and I'm still not quite sure what they are. They move and they hear and talk but they're not alive. Yet they somehow react like living things. It's very spooky.

Simple solutions to difficult problems. Of course, someone like Harry could figure it out. ;D

That scene were he fell to the floor was actually rather funny. :D It was providential that nothing attacked while he was sleeping. But I suppose Draco would have awakened him if anything had. Phew!

So much darker than your other fics but I love those kinds more! This has me thinking you have become one of my favorite writers. I usually enjoy more "action in the bedroom" kind of fics but with the plot you have and the way you portray Harry and Draco make me read all of your fics. They are fantastic! Thanks for the escape from reality!

do you think the injuries sustained by harry and draco can be healed? bcuz sumtimes injuries directly from dark curses cannot heal, so if their injuries inflicted by the maze is by dark magic, which is a strong possibility, they might not heal. eek! love the storys progression, btw. keep it up :D

also, in a a potion named desire, is that pre-slash like this one, n we have to wait for slash in the 2nd or 3rd part of series, or will we see slash at the end of that story? sry if i dont remember what u said abt the story. love that one too. love all your stories actually. you are an amazing author :D

What an interesting spell! Hrm, those portraits were pretty scary. I'd hate to be in a room with them. lol Ah, the pizza has just arrived, so I must go, but this is another great update. :D Interesting that Draco is doing a lot of the saving down there. :D I'm sure in more ways than one.

    Happy New Year!

Wow. That was nuts. Your imagination still never ceases to amaze me...sucking out memories...living portraits with figures that start walking out of them? that made me think of "The Ring" when that girl started walking out of the TV...scared the crap outta me. I'm surprised Harry didn't freak out, but what else could he do? lol. What's really amazing to me is how you're building intimacy and attraction throughout this whole fiasco. It feels real and it's even a little sexy and that's hard to pull off when folks don't have fingers, no voice, and are in constant peril. Happy New Years to you : )

Wow. This is a powerful chapter. It's that turning point in the way Harry feels for Draco, the bond that they are creating through this madness. What I always find absoutely intriguing about stories written is how they can show the lightning-fast thoughts that people have day after day, our constant inner struggles, triumphs and failures while offering perspective to those things. Harry, while struggling with his sexuality, is able to stand his ground, and still remain human in the most inhuman of sitatuations. He is starting to find himself drawn to Draco in some way, closer than just a victim/bad guy; he's actually seeing him and understanding him a bit more. I'm sure there are other, more subtle things there, and I have no doub tthat Harry will still feel doubt for Draco, but once that sliver of hope is added to his psyche, it will grow. At least that is how I see Harry in this scenario.

What another fantastic read. :) I can't said to see the next chapter. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas/Yule/Chanukah (whatever you celebrate) and have a wonderful New Year. :D

Ah! So do we believ that Draco is doing this for his parents....or *gasp!* is it all a trap to get Harry down there? That would be a serious twist! Oh but I do like to believe in the best of people! I want to believe Draco because Harry does...but then you say things that make me mistrust him! GRRRR! I'm so confused! Good chap! Update soon!

I know I don't review as I should, but this story has been developing very well, I have yet to force myself to read a chapter or skim just to go to the good parts. I've enjoyed each chapter and can't wait to see what happens next!

Ch. 11 Richard is an ordinary kind of lunatic but no less dangerous for all that. He wants the things that a lot of madmen want: power, immortality, knowledge, etc. He's absolutely firm in his belief that HIS is the right way and that nothing and no one should be allowed to contradict it. That's the way such people get and it's a slippery slope once you start treading it.

I'm glad to see Harry and Draco in accord with this. Life isn't about the big, grand moments; it's the little ones, the mundane rituals that matter, the routines that you build up from day to day with the people who care about you. I wonder what rituals Draco is thinking about that he longs to return to when he's fully restored.

It's occured to me that Harry hasn't seen a sign of Ron or Hermione up until now. Draco doesn't know anything about them, the memories don't mention them, Harry hasn't gotten so much as a glimpse of them. After reading about the Pensieves, I'm very worried as to what may have happened to them.

I LOVE where this story is going...I'm so glad you've redeemed Draco with this last chapter. He really didn't have many options did he? I can't wait to see what they're interactions will be like from here out. I just hope it doesn't end tragically, although from the way this has been going, I wouldn't be surprised at all. I kinda like Draco not having a voice, never thought I'd say that, but if they come across it, it's gonna be interesting to see how that impacts their interaction as well. I hope they come across Richard too and Draco has a chance to lay the smack down on him. lol. But why do I sense something bad is coming up? Is it because this chapter made me feel too good? I hope I'm wrong.

Ch. 10 What can I say? Like Harry, I felt deeply sick and it's not often a fanfic can produce that sensation. What baffles me is WHY they felt the need to kill this man this way. They could have simply set him on fire or lopped off his head with a knife. Granted, the man may have been a criminal. But I'm sure tactics like that simply weren't necessary after his innards had been removed.

Was it a test to see if Draco would perform on cue? Did they threaten him with worse? Were these people simply sliding into depravity without realizing it? Or did the man's suffering serve another purpose, the addition to the spell perhaps? I really need an answer and I'm sure Harry will too once it's all over.

This story is going to be the death of me. I'm only on chapter 8 but I'm so fired up I'm just waiting for my heart to fail. You see, I admit -with out shame- that I am baby. I hate being scared, it's the worst feeling in the world. After seeing a mutilated corpse used as a chain I'd would have said fuck this shit (pardon the language but that has been my thought at the end of each chapter) and got my ass out of there. I almost throw up when they were crawling over living flash and I hate to admit it but my best friend would have been up a creek if I had to pass bone eating bone to save them. I hope you don't take this personally but it kinda worries me when people come up with ideas like this. Stephen King for instance, after reading Bag of Bones (I think was the name...maybe) anyway, the man scares the hell out of me. Just because I have no idea where he comes up with such grewsome ideas. And he's not even the worst of the horror authors. I applaud your immense creativity though. SO yeah, I'll go read the rest now but if I drop dead of a heart attack I swear I will come back and be your personally ghost. :-)

Wow. So I wonder what else is coming in the Pensieve; this last one was brutal. So if this isn't Draco, I wonder what will happen when Harry meets the real one. Is that one still intact? (Assuming this one isn't the real Draco, that is.) I'm thoroughly enjoying this. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. I think I am going to stop speculating and just let you take me on the ride. I honestly have no viable theories, anyway. LOL Happy Holidays, and I look forward to the next update! :D

Jesus...*shudders* This all seems to remind me of Silent Hill...extremely horrific and gory. Good job on the details! I could practically see it happenening...not really a good thing when its gross but its a compliment! Update soon!

I've been reading horror all my life and this story rivals Stephen King's novellas..it's that good...and that drawing and quartering scene was crazy....I like how you're inventing new creatures, objects, and spells...where do you come up with this stuff? I really don't trust Draco now...but I do think it's the real Draco. Poor Harry, as he sees all the stuff Draco had to do, it must get increasingly hard to even interact with the guy. What an attraction killer..lol
