Ugh! The thought of Ron, lube and Hermione together is very unappetizing :P But then I din't like Ron, no matter how hard he tries.
Come on Snape! Up the ante; you have some work to do :)

You're right. I mistreat Ron horribly, I know. I'm a hater, I really am and it shows at least where Hermione and Snape are concerned. Ron was dead in "A New Beginning" as well, but I portrayed him as a good father, and husband and as he and Hermione being very much in love. It was easier to do because, well, he was dead. lol. I also think I have an image of Hermione that won't let me let her blatantly choose Snape over Ron and break his heart. I think that's why I always make him a git in the stories. It's easier to separate them without making Hermione look too bad. I try to give her faults, but I hedge at making her a heartbreaker. I guess that's why it's fantasy.

And, I also have a strong opinion that they don't belong together, they just don't fit well. Again, it's probably influenced by my HG/SS fixation. A writer, at least me, is going to write stories based on their view of a situation. It's writing into a box sometimes and my adding Ron to stories happened after DH. Usually Ron wasn't anywhere in the picture, or married someone else in my stories. I don't like writing Ron as a complete git either. Usually, he's made some kind of mistake to lead to a breakup, or has been manipulated in some way. I've read stories about Ron raping Ginny, beating Hermione and other things that made my blood run cold. I could never do that to him. I've written Hermione taking advantage of Ron, however, blatantly cheating on him purposely in a sustained relationship, but Ron's wrongs have always been spur of the moment encounters, because he basically is a good guy. In "Death Be Not Unkind" Ron is a good guy, very much in love with Hermione and happily married her with no inclination to turn her into his mother. Unfortunately, Hermione is a villianess in that story and has cheated on him with Snape for a long time, causing Snape to commit suicide when she married him. So there's always some problem between Hermione and Ron when I write them. It's just the way I deal with the relationship aspect. I'm quite aware of my propensity to Ron-bash, but that's really just how it is, with me. But there are writers out here who give Ron a fighting chance. Sad to say, I'm not one of them. Thank you for your comments.

Oh Miss Figg, I'm thrilled to see that you're picking it up again!
As of late I've found myself going back and re-reading all of your stories and falling in love with them all over again.
But, as I've re-read them, I've come to a conclusion
When it comes to the Severus/Hermione/Ron triangles, you never take Ron seriously.
I'm not saying that Ron should get the girl, although I do like myself a good Ron/Hermione fic every now and then.
I do happen to like the whole idea of my favourite snarky bat with my favourite bookworm.
But whenever you include Ron in the picture, you always make sure that there's no possible way they COULD end up together.
We KNOW without a doubt that it's going to be Snape/Hermione in the end.
In each of your stories poor, picked-on Ron is either dead, or a cheater, unable to appreciate Hermione, or a clueless ass.
While I know that you won't refuse Snape his well-deserved happy ending out of love for him, I don't think you need to lessen the value of Ronald in order to do it.

I think that in despite of his rather obnoxious nature, Ron is a legitimately interesting character.
He is much more intelligent than he lets on. He might be a little quick with his words and he may let his emotions rule him more often than not, but that doesn't necessarily make him completely incompatible with Hermione.
They balance each other out, I think.
She calms him down, and he loosens her up.
And I never thought that he truly wants a woman like his mother as his wife.
From the first time they met, Hermione has asserted her independent and bossy nature.
He must know that she's nothing like his mother.
And after seven years of friendship, it would be impossible to be completely unaware of the others' career dreams.
I don't think it would take him by surprise that she would want to be a career woman instead of a home-maker.
If he really wanted a woman like his mother I think things with "Lav-Lav" Might've ended better than they did.
As it is, he couldn't stand her and spent much of his time avoiding her.
I feel, that all he's ever wanted was Hermione BECAUSE of her nature.

I know you would never write a story where Hermione and Severus don't end up together, but I'd like, for once, to see you write a story where Ronald Weasley is a legitimate champion for Hermione's heart and hand.
