Man, I had really hoped he would not be on that portrait. He is really dead.

Can you imagine that? How would you feel if your wife gifted you an animated portrait of your dead lover? How will Severus feel? I would imagine they would get used to it in time but it is going to be a shock. I just know there is going to be more crying comming up.

Ok, we still have to deal with dear Luciud. Even though he is a sexy beast we must punish him. Frankly he just needs to die, I don't think Draco would miss him much. Yes I think a little revenge would make us feel better...

Slightly confuzzled at this point... Severus alive? You do like to yank our chains, don't you?

And Harry's going to be absolutely tortured by the painting.

I've stopped trying to guess what you'll do next.

That was a lovely bit with James sleeping. I could really picture it. I liked how Snape came to consciousness in the Headmaster's office and also that Ginny thought to commission a picture of Snape. I know Harry will appreciate it, even if Ginny can't fathom the depth of his appreciation.

Thanks for giving us another chapter.

Another great chapter. It's very true that when a loved one dies it brings on the grim thoughts of 'I should just die too', but it's just a normal part of the grieving. Lucius is very smug here, the twit. Poor Draco, it's hard to take a different path than the one you've been raised to, kudos to you for his character development here. My heart is hurting for Harry and Ginny. Can't wait to see the next chapter, and I hope Harry ends up getting justice, and not just revenge, against Lucius. (OMG, how is Sev going to come back? Not critising your plot, I'm just anxious to see him back. *whimpers* He is coming back, right?)

Thanks for the lovely words, C

I appreciate all of the hard work you've put into this story. It sucked me in just this weekend, and I've been putting off other things to read it. :) But I cannot place the blame for that with the authors, certainly, only with myself for the lack of self control. So, I can only say that the "twists and turns" of the story that seem to have been complained about by some are appreciated. Stories should never go exactly how the readers want them to go. What would be the use of reading them if they only went how we expected them to? Also, what use would there be for fan fiction if everything we wanted to happen took place in all of the stories? :) So, I suppose I just wanted to add my words of encouragement and appreciation for the work you've done.

    What a perfectly sad chapter.

Harry's reflection on himself and his life without Severus were especially wrenching. I could almost hear
Snape's voice myself as he talked Harry out of ending it all to be with him.

Lucius is perfect in this chapter. Perfectly evil. I'm glad that Draco and Harry were able to talk. I think that goes a long way to healing some of the rift between them. But you know me, I always want them to get along. They are my two favorite boys in the series.

What leapt out to me in this chapter was the unfairness of this situation to Harry. He's lost every tie he had to his parents already, and now he has to lose Severus. At the risk of sounding like an infant... IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!! I do hope that Harry can hang on. The good times will return, even if he won't have part of his heart to share it with.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Way to make me cry my eyes out...

Ok, I've been reading your story for about a week now, and have finally reached the point where you need to update. So far I have greatly enjoyed this story, I like the character build up, and the multi facet plot line. Though I will admit to being a bit put out by your abuse of your readers. Yes authors like feedback, but readers will turn away if you do everything short of cussing them out. If it had not been such a good story I would have turned away and never finished. As it is I applaud both your skills as writers, I have not read a story this good in a while. However I will also say that you are both needy loons, who I feel need a good slap.

That aside I would like to be put on the update list, if you would be so kind.

Wow, this story is so good. I love that its so long and involved. I just found it a few days ago and have only just now read the last chapter you have here. You so had me crying. I can't wait for more. It's good to see harry and ginny cry together. The only thing i don't understan is the intensity of ginny's feeling. It almost seems too much considering her reaction to her brothers death. but either way, very emotional. I waish that Ginny knew what was going on between harry and severus, or at least that someone did. I can't think how terrible it must be to have that depth of feeling, and have no one who really understands or knows about it. He must feel so lonely now, because he still has the secret of his love affair to carry around with him and deal with, except now he has no one to shareit with, he's now alone with his secret. Anyway.....Great Job!!!! and I Love It!!!!!!!

Okay. Now I've read to the end of what you've written so far. Just want to say, I sure wasn't expecting Severus to be killed. At this point, it doesn't look like you have any plans to bring him back - and I'm not implying that you should. Just please don't bow to pressure & change your story from how it's planned out. You've done a great job of pulling me into the shock of the sudden and unexpected death, then into sharing the reactions to it. Fantastic job all around, but I have to give major kudos to how you showed George sharing his own grief about losing Fred. Harry's desperate denial was presented very expertly too. I'm looking forward to reading how Harry & Ginny react to events from this point. How will Lucius' plot and crime be uncovered? Will Harry go to Severus' portrait and what will they say to each other? Keep writing, for gosh sakes!

Okay, I've only read through chapter 62, but here's what I think of your story so far. First, I really like how you didn't fall into the cliche of making Ginny a rotter just so Harry could fall for Severus. Don't have any idea how Ginny will react when she finds out what's going on, but I suspect Lucius plans for her to learn about it in the worst way possible. Speaking of Malfoys, you have me wondering how Narcissa and Draco will be involved as events progress. The only (minor) complaint I have about the story is that you've shown very little of other people with whom Ginny, Harry & Severus would have contact. Mentions are made of them - Hermione & Ron, the Weasley clan at the Burrow, etc. - but little more. G/H/S almost seem to be living in their own pocket universe. For example, until Severus applied for work there, almost no mention was made of Harry's work as an Auror for the Ministry. For a few chapters there, I got the impression he'd taken a leave of absence so he could take care of James while Ginny pursued her career. But as I said, that's minor. Your tale is well written and keeps me wondering what's gonna happen next (in a good way). Thank you both, for all of your efforts to put together such an entertaining story!

I'm sitting here in a state of utter shock because you've actually made this a mature, properly mature, fic. Like, life and love and death, and you didn't shirk from what these actually entail for people as life experiences! No fandom cliches! No silliness... no immature writing...I'm speechless. I'm stunned. I applaud you. You did what Rowling I think might have attempted in spite of her great fear of death, and yet you've actually made it REAL and PROFOUND and absolutely something anyone can relate to, which is what the Deathly Hallows wasn't, at least for me as a reader. (I suspect this is why some feel this fic is 'soap operatic' or whatnot - the bigger issues usually scare people.) THANK YOU - and I'm glad this fic is still a WIP as I write this review, because reading this has been a true pleasure. I'll continue to read it with absolute attention. You both rock SO HARD!!!!!! -Tat
