Reviews for A Potion Named Desire

Ch. 6 Why won't Hermione give up? Is she really that stubborn? Persistence is admirable; stubbornness is stupid. At this point, she should just demand that Harry make Malfoy swear an Unbreakable Vow that Malfoy will in no way, shape or form, attach Harry's name, face, description or reputation to the general draught he means to concoct. If Malfoy manages to make money from it, that's fine. Harry certainly doesn't need his money. Also, if it does turn out to be an addictive substance like heroin or cocaine, Harry doesn't bear any of the blame for it. He's covered either way.

Hermione also seems to be doing better in terms of relating with others. If she can muster the spirit and determination to argue with Malfoy, then she can get on with some aspect of her life. Then again, confrontation and anger are probably not the motivating factors with her that they are with Harry.

I know that I'm bad at regularly reviewing your work. But I always look forward to seeing the newest chapters in my mailbox. Another great chapter. I love how Draco and Harry are interacting. I really want to know what the potion does for Harry. Will you be giving ANY hints? I already have theories, just want something to match them against. I'm so hooked.

Ch. 5 Parts of this are too technical for me and I found my attention drifting. But this IS supposed to be intellectual so I suppose a certain amount of technical bickering and theory is to be expected.

I don't know why Hermione thought she could change Draco's mind. Regardless of whether she knew about the bargain Harry had struck with him, she should have figured it would be impossible to budge him on this. Malfoy strikes me as the sort to get his arguments lined up well in advance; he also probably thinks himself as smarter than anyone else so he would be quite likely to dismiss anything anyone else says as nonsense or unimportant.

I wonder why Hermione didn't put forward with the very obvious problem of addiction. It's easy to get addicted to a substance that's supposed to be a temporary solution. That's the danger with using morphine as a pain suppresant.

Perhaps that's the problem that Harry has. At this point, I'm just as curious as Draco as to what his potion is supposed to do for him. The statement that he made about it preventing him from being a criminal is something I can't forget and I'm wondering what it means...

Thanks for this chapter. I'm going to stick with this story even if it's confusing at times.

Ch. 4 I can't believe the sorting Hat would have put Harry into the Slytherin house. Even after all these years, Draco is still putting things over on him! Well, it looks like Harry is capable of surprising Draco as well. And I know Harry wasn't always the perfect Gryffindor, what with his sneaking out around Hogwarts all the time. So maybe Draco won't have as easy a time running circles around Harry as he thinks.

Another great chapter!!!!!!! What more can I say???? You are fucking incredible!!!! Oh wait...

WHAT DOES THE POTION REMOVE FROM HARRY AND WHAT IS 'THE INCIDENT'?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!!?!?!?!? I know, I know...we have to wait till the end to find out, but I'm going to scream about it some more...just because I want to know SO badly!!!

Is it his attraction to Draco? Or he might have twigged to the fact that he's gay and that scares him, so he created the potion to get rid of it...so that he doesn't attack any guys or something.........

If so...HARRY, YOUR EFFORTS ARE FUTILE!!!! YOU WILL BE ATTRACTED TO DRACO NO MATTER WHAT!!! IT IS YOUR DESTINY!!! (More so than destroying Voldemort, your ultimate purpose in life is to fuck Draco senseless for our amusement...over and over and over again!)

*sigh* I know, dumb guess. But I really, really want to know....so update SOON!

Ch. 3 I remember seeing a movie with Paul Sorvino called "Mambo Italiano." When the parents of a gay son receiving an invitation to a wedding of their gay son's former lover, they think it's a trap. Should they go and let the wedding party flaunt their joy in their faces? Should they stay away and let the other people gloat at their misery? Should they go and refuse to have a good time and let everybody talk about how they're eating their hearts out?

At the end of her spiel, her baffled husband says, "I'm tired!" I remember crying out "Me too!"

That's the way I feel after reading these three chapters and wondering about their moves, motives and counterplots. There's Draco being clever, gloating, spiteful, wary, watchful, cunning and surprised (and angry about it) while trying to get an advantage over an enemy who's trying not to be an enemy. It's very...wearying.

I hope the situation becomes less tense in future chapters. But you said this is a CEREBRAL romance so I don't have any hopes for it.

Ooh... I LOVE the way you are characterizing the main players. Draco is still insecure in areas, but too f'ing proud to ever crumble or concede defeat. The fact that he worked his way up from the very depths of his own personal Hell speaks very highly of his character, and excited me at the direction this story can take. Harry becoming comfortable with himself is marvelous! Often, people refuse to acknowedge he is capable of self-possession without making him too much of a Slytherin (read: too OOC). And Hermione... Oh, I just want to hug her.

Excellent start. I look forward to all future posting :)

    Kisses!

PS: Thanks for answering my question! New question... you said magic was used to create the individual segments of the potion. If this potion relies on emotions the antithesis of hatred (ie: love, lust, happiness, glee), will Draco need Harry's help to ultimately complete segments of it?
