Pensieve Plotter, I don't like to leave negative reviews, as the reason why I do not like a story much, is usually just because of my preferences. And something that I don't like, someone else may absolutely love, so I feel I really cannot comment on that. I'd rather just leave a review only when I do like it!

Unless it's something that's just really wrong, then I would say something, like a word used in the wrong meaning or so.

Anyway, I do like this story at the moment. I was a little sad to see Valerie's patronus, though! Poor girl, if death is the happiest thing she can think of...

Pensieve Plotter, you are 100% correct. I read a huge amount of stories, actually, but I only review when I like it a lot. I have been following this story from the start, but I am really starting to get into it now as it seems to be getting more interesting (more plot).

I believe I may have read all your stories.

My favorite is still Tom Riddle and the Full Blood Prince, though!

Ginny doesn't know about Valerie's relationship with Snape, of course - but McGonagall DOES! Couldn't she be a bit of a spanner in the works with the DA? I never knew whether McG was involved with them or not - what exactly DID she do during the war, since she's meant to be this formidably powerful witch and all. I always thought JKR sidelined her a bit.

So it will be interesting to see how Valerie affects the tactics of the DA.

Wow, he took quite a risk there - especially after her Mudblood comment before. I wonder how Valerie will fit into the final battle now - it will be interesting to see what the DA make of her.

I read the remaining chapters just now. Well done on the last one. Writing child abuse isn't fun! And it surely is not easy!

I personally was not keen on the switching earlier. I just don't like reading male sub. But I apprechiate it is part of your story.
Also got a bit to cheesy for me personally. -then again, the small moment of Snape caning the smal girl on her hands... I'm sorry but :HUGE TURN ON!!! -for me anyway... I know I know I am a rotten bad girl ;)

just finished reading till the last Tears for Fears chapter.
I am so glad they have a portrait of Dumbledore in Snape's house! You know I love that element of your story!
Reminds me, I also felt your idea of Spinner's End was very impressive, so dark and haunting!
I think you very well define the problems of a relationship with big age difference. How sometimes all the enthusiasm, naivety and young excitement about sex just runs into a wall with the older, depressed and disillusioned about life -person.
I do like how you work out his Lily-complex. It was a powerful scene, where Valerie sucks him off and is kind of disappointed not to get anything back and then he masturbates to Lily's picture, -that must make him feel so wrong and dirty as well.
About the cutting. Of course you don't mean to offend with it, even though it is quite a big deal to put that out there, to have a character offer self harming to another in order to get over the abuse in the past. But personally I don't find it offensive, it makes me think and that is a good thing. There have been theories that self harmers turn to s/m because then another person can be in control of giving that pain they would make themselves feel. I just assumed that that is the healthier option, but then why should it be? it is worth thinking over, so that is ok.
But don't try to excuse what you are doing saying it is not self harming. What you are describing is very realistic self harming, even if done through a spell. In self harming it is also very much about the healing.
-But you know I think it is entirely ok!
Here are many stories about abuse and rape, why should self harming not be ok to be portrait. If you warn readers about it at the start I think it is totally ok.
will come back to read the rest later. Keep it up!

Hi, sorry not to review sooner; I find it difficult to catch up after time away.

I enjoyed their tender interlude in the forest, and it was especially satisfying when the doe showed up; I'm always relieved at the point in a story where Snape is finally 'over' Lily.

This is a remarkable thing he is doing for Valerie - taking her memories of childhood abuse and storing them away where they can't affect her. I wonder how this will affect her personality? It's fascinating to speculate on how people's paths in life would change if they could get rid of certain toxic events in their past. Anyway, I wonder how all this will tie in to the canon fight against Big V?

    I shall wait and see.

Two more chapters read..."Sacrificial love" sounds a bit scary; I'm concerned about what Dumbledore has in mind now.

Snape is mean to get her all heated up and then veto any 'kinky stuff' - but that was veeery hot foreplay in that scene. Interesting that he wanted the white nightdress, but I wonder what he wants Valerie to do to 'punish' him for Lily?

    Will read the rest tonight.

Ah, I was wondering if the choice of film would turn out to be significant. Dramatic! The idea of Dementors breeding is just really gross as well, ew!

So she doesn't see him as heroic yet - I wonder if she will change her mind.

I'll r&r the next chapters when I get another minute xx.

Oh WOW, I love that he took her to the playground where he met Lily. How poignant; I've never seen that done in another story.

So he is genuinely smitten with Valerie then? I love the idea of Snape snogging in the back row of a cinema; if only the students could see him! I don't think I've ever seen you do romance before - twas very nice!

    Anyway, next chapter.
