Reviews for Beyond the Veil -- COMPLETE

Ch. 45 -- Grrrr...., Lucius. LOL! Him and his secrets (not to mention his ego - thank goodness for Hermione :D ). So, I was wrong about Nesbitt - he was just a 'bit' player. I do like your line-up for the Master. Very apropos. I'd go into further detail, but I don't want to spoil for those that read the reviews before the story.

I can't believe the ride's almost over. It's been such fun. Thank you for all your hard work & for sharing this!

(2nd attempt *hating maintenance sessions here*)

Alrighty... My previous review is actually supposed to be for Ch. 43 - not Ch. 42. *banging head on desk* So sorry for any confusion. :P

Re. Ch. 44: Poor Lucius. Just a little shocking for him to find out that he was just a breath away from being nailed 8 ways to Sunday because Draco had loose lips. I did enjoy his little panic attack at Hermione's knowledge and how she acquired it.

At this point, I guess I'm curious whether Nesbitt is the Master or not. And if so, if the 'first time around', he was obliviated (and maybe had his magic blocked as a bit of poetic justice) and somehow "recovered" his memories. Just some thoughts that ran through while reading.

Ch. 42 -- Wow... Somehow, despite my guessing, I really didn't quite see that coming. LOL! Let's hear it for preparedness. Go Hermione! On another note, don't you just love Malfoy hospitality? 'Excuse me, sir, would you perhaps care for a little fiber to go with your tea? What's that? Forget the tea? You're a little tied up at the moment? Ah well. Maybe another day?' *snorts* I find it funny to see that Hermione may have been the one to establish the signature 'Malfoy hospitality' she experienced before the Veil. (probably wasn't her that started that one, but it's an interesting & amusing thought to play with for awhile.)

For ch. 38-41 -- LOL! Paperweights, indeed... So, since I saw "Clue" the other day, I offer the following theory: It was the lawyer, in the ballroom, for the purpose of obtaining the 'paperweights,' with the "Little Book of Pureblood Semi-Public 'Sneezes'" (which is not so little or light after several decades of notations). Yeah, that's it. :D

    Chapter 45

I am deeply puzzled about the crucial information that Lucius kept to himself. It might have been nice to have these realisations come to him progressively as they squib family trees were explored. Perhaps coming upon a name that rings a bell, being reminded of Death Eater moments that might draw further parallels between the two time periods.

All in all a very interesting revelatory chapter that brings together present and future (which are both past in their own way). Now I want to know what is happening in the future and what will become of the squibs in our "present" timeline as well as in the future. Will Voldemort accept his squib relative and rue the wizarding community with an iron fist? Is the veil really the ur-timeturner? Will Lucius return to the future and bring tight britches back into fashion? ... Wait...that last one was just silly.

So many unanswered questions and I look forward to seeing the next installment (whether or not it answers them). I also dread the impending end of this story because of how awesome it has been so far.

adjudicate - great word. Okay so here is my theory...The root dies the tree dies but not before Hermione becomes pregnant continuing the Malfoy line and the future Lucis is actually his own grandfather. (I blame it on an old Disney song that my children listened to.)

Oh my gosh, I have fallen so far behind with this story. Three chapters! Well, here you go - three reviews in one (and labelled for easy reference as you asked)

Chapter 43 - go Hermione! I knew she wouldn't just let that old geezer obliviate her.

So it's been that tricky little solicitor all this time and it turns out Lucius' uncle wasn't totally evil. I mean, he was going to turn in Mr Nesbitt before the old coot murdered him so that redeems him a tiny bit.

I love how Lucius just strolls in with this cool calm swagger and isn't floored why the solicitor is strapped to the chair. Wonder what will happen to him now Lucius knows?

Chapter 44 - fuck me, suck me and give me a shave - well that's a new one! I had a right giggle to that one.

Is it weird of me to love that dark protective side of Lucius? The fierce way he cannot stand anyone harming his family - Mr Nesbitt is very lucky Hermione was still there or he would haven't been so lucky to receive just a stupefy. I can't wait to see how the Veil deals with him - hopefully he gets deposited in a weird, painful dimension. That'll sort him out.

Chapter 45 - you're right, it is a complex chapter but amazing. Well done you. That is a really intricate storyline and the connections with Voldemort are something I didn't see coming. What is it with that family wanting to obliterate people and rule the world? They all need therapy!

The burden of thinking he had triggered the Master's New Wave must have been weighing heavy on Lucius for a while. Lucky for him he has Hermione to centre him and bring him back down to earth. As if all that wasn't enough for our blond adonis to deal with, he's got a stone arch laughing at him. poor thing!

An excellent run of chapters there and I can't wait to see what happens next.

P.S. I had written about half of my story about Hermione visiting Lucius but when I read over it, I just hated it. I'm just finding it weird to write Lucius cos I've never tackled him before and I want to make sure I don't muck it up. So I am starting again and I'm hoping I'll have it up soon.

So if they visit the veil again will they stay in that time period or will they be sent back to their original time. Time travel always confuses me,but I am enjoying your story.

ch 45 - hmm, that does seem to be the best option - to let the Veil decide the evil lawyer's fate. now you've got me starting to like the Veil! hopefully, Lucius can figure out a way to serve justice to those wicked blackmail victims (the ones who deserved to be in Azkaban). L&H are really starting to meld together as a couple! thanks for the chapter and visit to the Veil. (ps - if L&H start a charitable fund to provide magical parents and homes for wizarding orphans - like the not-yet-born Tom Riddle - it might be another step to prevent Voldy from rising up?)

Very interesting chapter. I really hope the Veil sent XXXXX 30 years back in time and as a Squibb. And it was so sweet to know Lucius did not kill XXXX because it would have upset Hermione. He is a tamed man (at least in that area).
About the Gaunts, it all makes so much sense. Thier upbringing and superiority complex makes them the perfect raw material for becoming tyrants. All that was needed was a little rejection and two of the worst wizards came from the same family.
Now what will happen to them and to other families with Squibbs or near Squibbs in a world where it is no longer a dishonour to have them is so very complex that I could go on forever with theories so instead I think I will patiently wait for your updates and enjoy this wonderful story who is getting better and better.
And to answer your question, no, I never thought XXXXX was a XXXXXX, I only thought XXX was greedy and unscrupulous.

Well, if he didn't feel warm and cozy when he 'comes' *wink* then I don't think he'd be technically human. lol.

how do you address the veil? I think Hermione's so cute when she talks to it. I'd more an image of Barbosa in the last pirates film when he shouts at Calipso! lol!

Is it not quite as unforgivable in this era? Or do they not have the ability to watch the population and pick up on it? Is it a comparison to today's society, a society that is constantly watched over by video, whereas then they weren't? But more magical? (did that make sense?)

I wonder where it did send him? Back to the mess of the world left by the Master would be good, with a whistle-stop tour of everything else that went wrong, stemming from his blackmail? That would be a sensible punishment.

I love watching fires/candles, it really does give me a warm feeling inside. Like watching dancers where you've paid an absolute fortune for the tickets to see them!

I was in a bit of a tizzy at the complex chapter comment and started to over think things as I read. By the time I reached the end, after careful reading, I realised that I'm mostly a dumbass. *grins* I was thinking all kinds of complex things about Nesbitt and I'm pretty sure now that I'm all wrong. *phew* His big revealation was almost an a-ha moment. I had this sense that he was always holding something back, though I wouldn't even try to guess. I thoroughly enjoyed Hermione and Lucius' hashing things out. It is very true to life, when one person has one thought process and then a new perspective cause the whole picture to open up and make a bit more sense. You are very clever that way. Thanks for the brilliant update!
