This was a great chapter . I hope that Hermione and Lucius will be able to figure out the prophecy and finally be able to return to their time. If they do, I hope that they stay married to each other and not let anyone try and break them apart. I can't wait to read more.

Hehe, I knew it was the Veil who made them feel so strongly :P Nasty little Veil... But I start to more and more think that it has a mind of its own, even if it can't do much.
Oh, a Squib! That would make sense! I mean, not all Squib can be like Ms Figg who only wants to take care of her cats, it's understandable that some would get very angry and want to get even. Especially if they have been treated badly of the wizards. Hm... I more and more start to think that Lucius had some locked-up sibling/cousin/other relative who has been treated badly... then it would be quite simple for Lucius and Hermione to make it right, just make sure their kids doesn't end up as muggle-haters! Hehe... but perhaps maybe not... there would still be other purebloods who didn't liked their Squib-children.... ah, well... I'm sure that if anyone could change the minds of the other purebloods, it's Lucius and Hermione ^^
    Great chapter! take care!

Lovely chapter as always. No need to answer my questions, I wouldn't dream of finding out anything before its time. I just like to speculate.

    Chapter 28

That veil certainly interferes a lot...and what was that laughter?! Hm. Interesting it would now choose to reveal such a mischievous trait. I like Hermione's supposition that the time turners are made from the same material as the arch. It makes the concept more plausible.

I wonder about the ease they had in entering the ministry and the lower levels in particular. Unless teh Veil is enabling more and more... I can't imagine that civilians (no matter how rich) would be allowed to wander the corridors of the ministry unattended. Entering Hermione's old/future office seems like a mistake. The people that work in that department are most likely the smartest and most perspicacious wizards...how could they fail to notice that someone came in? How could they fail to investigate? Of course, this could turn out to be an advantage just as much as it could be a huge liability.

Ok. I've speculated enough for today.

Thanks for such a fun mystery!

An arch might be good for any relationship. The laugh was perfect. I look forward to what those two minds can figure out.

YAY UPDATE!!! Wonderful part! While I was reading I realized that Lucius and Hermione would eventually have to go back to their time right? I mean wouldn't they be affecting the future more then they're supposed to if they don't? What about Draco, Harry, and everyone else? Will they be in the story? Boy I ask way too many questions. Can't wait for the next bit!

I can't remember where I'm up to! I've been rather distracted over at the Derbyshire Writers' Guild (a Pride and Predudice fanfiction site of pure quality!). Its got me trying to fit the HP characters into the JAne Austin tale - I just can't find a Mr. Collins among the bunch! But you have to admit that Molly makes a brilliant Mrs. Bennet, and Lucius makes a *phwor* fantabulous Darcy! I haven't got a Bingley who's canon either - but I've a handy OC who fits the bill.

Right... where was I? I think I missed a chapter out? I'm lost with being on the other site!

*STANDING OVATION* Good Grief! Lucius, on his knees apologising? Has the world stopped spinning? Has the sun gone out? Do pigs fly? I'm liking the humble Lucius - but you have to admit that his transgressions were worthy of being on his knees nice and supplanted! I think I can summerise how Hermione was feeling; the vows then had a clause that said a woman must obey her husband... now, that's great for him but it doesn't mean he can get away with doing that in the brothel! Yes there was no actual sex - but it was still a sex act (repeated by the sounds of it), it was no better than him paying for lip service! But the 'honour and obey' thing could bounce back to hurt Hermione if Lucius demanded that she submit to his will (not that I think he would, but if he'll go elsewhere then her opinion of him must have hit rock bottom!). They should have a clause that says you will honour and obey your wife! (Did ANY of that make sense?)

I think both me and my other half have both picked a fight just to have make up sex. Its just got a different feeling to it! *blush*

There hasn't been a lot of communication between them - Hermione needs to tell him why she's so scared! He might be a bit more accommodating and helpful if he knew the full story.

Just as an aside - where the feck would the veil take Sirius? What use would the biggest kid around have in saving the world? Or was the veil after Lucius and Hermione so early on that IT was the thing drawing them all to the battle in the Ministry?

Oooh - a bit of a domestic issue here! Has Hermione got a ladies' maid to help her get dressed on a morning? Or do the elves do it in this era (where they are respected not enslaved). You can't do a corset up on your own! It took three of us to get my friend into one, though, she's a 34H. Hermione won't be used to the fashion of the time, Ladies of great standing even needed assistance to put their stockings and underwear on! Plus you haven't mentioned her hair; is it being styled in the fashion of the day? Is an elf having to fight her curls into a style with copius numbers of pins and grips? How have the other ladies of society viewed her - none of them know she's not pureblood, how do they like/dislike her?? Can I beg, on my knees if need be, for a chapter involving Hermione being readied for an outing or something?

I've been looking at wedding dresses, even though we've not set a date (it's a girly past time of mine, plus my most excellent Mum will be making my dress so I want to have a good look at what's possible). I've seen more frocks like your Ministry guardian woman than I care to mention! MOST of them "designer". The designers need an ounce of fashion sense and their eyes testing! Their dresses look like the dolls that have big dresses to hid a loo roll!

Society could do with a few more veils! Stuff the marriage councilors - go to a veil and spill all! Seriously, it would do wonders for society; friends colleagues, partners families... just an honest having it all out to clear the air is a liberating thing!

    Yay! Helping the sqibs!

He might be a bit rusty, but he's a romantic at heart!

Well! Hermione will make waves in society if she gets a job! I dread to think of the rumors! Though, will her example help boost the image of the witches in society?

well i haven't reviewed in awhile but 'i love this fic' sounds trite after you write it as often as i have. still i love this fic. its so well written and such an original idea (unlike my reviews). i wonder how they will affect their cultures oppinion of squibs from such a temporal distance. i'm sure you have it worked out but i have no clue. and for that matter i noticed that they are thinking of their present time as the time they will always be in. is there no chance they will make it back to their old time? yuck that sentence confused me. bye. see you next chapter.

No, I liked this chapter like this, I'm glad you didn't cut it in two. I'm pleased that they've both cleared the air. I was just waiting for someone to walk in on them when Hermione opened the door to where she used to work...just waiting for them to get caught with their hands in the cookie jar...lol.

I'm glad they had that whole conversation even if it was guided by the Veil. And I love that she was willing to distract him with some kink. That was funny. And she now knows that he admires her feisty self. I can't decide if I want to read about the sex or about the prophecy. It seems that they are discovering each other as well as all the rest of the machinations of time. So, they want to help the Squibs, that is really going to be interesting.

I got so engrossed in the story that I forgot to do a seperat window. Beautiful isn't even the best word to describe what I felt about their talk. They semed to have touched on everything that was bothering them about each other. Lucius' fear shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. You write him so confident and autocratic, that it gives him a little depth and makes me want to hug him. Alot. For a long, long, long time, and with our clothes... Okay you get the picture.

I'm intrigued that Lucius seems to value Hermione's mind over her physical attributes. I know he certainly appreciates her beauty, but the mind is what he's drawn to with her, I think.

The veil has a rumbling laugh. Hmmmm... I'm not going to speculate but I'm thinking.

New leaf or not, the old Lucius does indeed shine through. It was good to see them communicating, even if it was the Veils influence. I

Ok, so I have a LOT to say about this chapter LOL, first off, I hope I didn't offend you in my last review. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy The Wedding, just that I was a bit shocked and believe me, it is NOT easy to shock me LOL.

So Lucius and Hermione finally got to visit the illustrious Veil? And the fact that it can influence their emotions is a surprising twist. I like the fact that Lucius has vocalised his fears to Hermione and visa versa, its hard to see Lucius as feeling vulnerable but it is entirely believable in the scope of your story.
