Fantastic story! Though it got a bit repetitive in the middle for a while I really enjoyed it. I want to k ow what happened to Snape! I hope you post an epilogue soon, with Harry trying to find him.. I was thinking Australia :) anyway, a truly great snarry fic (I'm ignoring the Ginny part though that helped to make iit more believable)

OOC should be put as a warning in the summary because the characters are way too much out of character. Your writing style is really good but especially Harry often came across as a dumb child. The books Snape gave him are easily understandable for a young person in his age.

Wow, I was hooked on this story start to finish. I admit that there was a bit of redundancy towards the middle, but I found myself enjoying those chapters just for the mere fact that I couldn't see these two ever getting together quickly (thus the same ol' same ol' added a bit of realism to the story). The rest of the story was amazingly well written (especially for being your first attempt) and I was glued to my chair for three nights with eyes burning as I lost track of time and kept telling myself, "One more chapter. One more and then I'll sleep..."

I've also read what you've posted so far of Invictus and I am eagerly awaiting some of the later chapters from Snape's point of view. As it was, I felt like you got into the characters' minds and portrayed them really well. I just started reading HP fanfiction recently (with the whole... 7th movie pt 2 premiere coming so soon, tonight's the night!), and I was lucky enough to fall across your fic after suffering through two others with Snape acting like the nice guy that we all know he's not (I always thought his being such a snarky asshole was one of his better qualities, why try to change that or turn it into some kind of facade that he immediately lets down after a few well placed compliments?).

Anyways, I don't usually write reviews, but I felt like after 65 chapters worth of an amazing effort (and more to come with Invictus, I hope!), it would be rude of me not to at least tell you that you've gained another well deserved fan. :D

I've just read the whole story. It took me quite a few hours, but I loved it. This story is bloody brilliant. And I can't believe that you let Snape die! I know that you wanted to follow the book. But I always cry when he dies cause he's the best character ever. I really hoped that you would find a way to let him survive it all.
And I must say that I do love your version of Lucius. He is a sadistic bastard, but he is one ov the best villains there is, even if he does crack in the books.
But like I said, this story was aawesome, and I think I can honestly say that this is one of the best stories I've read in ages.

At the end of the sixty fourth chapter, I held my mouse over the 'next chapter' button, paused and I said to myself outloud 'This is going to break my heart'. It did. I shed more than a tear but I'm thankful for the ending. If Snape had of appeared in the frame as Harry walked out and watched him leave unaware of his death my heart would've broken litterally.

Can I put in a request for a sequel? I do know you posted invictus and I will be reading it but I'd love to see a sequel.
This is deserving of so many more reviews than it has gotten so far. It's also crafted with strong characters and a plot filled with angsty conflicts. You are very well read. Thank you!

I don't get it - this story ended with Harry/Ginny, where does it not end there? As a reader you can only see that Harry is back with Ginny and he's going to talk to her. He wants to find Snape but he's also in love with Ginny (see Chapter 63).
But the OOCs bothered me the most.

Amazing, simply amazing! I loved the story and from my personal point of view it could fit right into the Harry Potter series. :) But of course, since I enjoy the Snarry paring -grin- I wasn't thrilled with Ginny's entrance. But I can live with Harry wanting to find Snape. I would really love to read the Epilogue, especially if Harry ends up with Snape in the end.

Thanks so much for the very enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to reading more of your works. You're an absolutely BRILLIANT story teller!

I'm more than half way through this story. It's really amazing, truly. I've found very few fan-fiction stories that are brilliantly written, but this is certainly one of them. If I didn't know better, it could fit into the Harry Potter story...well, almost. XD I am loving the interplay between Harry and Snape. The intricacies and just itching for when Snape finally acknowledges (I hope) that he LIKES Harry, or if he has admitted it to himself, then to Harry.

One of the things I find intriguing is Snapes pride. Harry hurts his feeling (or I'm assuming he does because we don't get Snapes POV) and Snape kind of acts childish on his own...after accusing Harry of doing so. He gets angry and attacks Harry even while telling Harry he has to control his emotions. I'm also waiting for the time when Snape or Harry seduces the other. A true seduction instead of them performing for Voldy. It's driving me crazy! -grin-

So all in all I've really enjoyed the story!

I have to admit I am rather vexed with you for "Killing" Snape! All I can say is he better not be dead! I was so looking forward to the complications of Harry comming to understand his love for Snape and what Snape feels for Harry.

I really, really hope you do that sequel thruogh Snapes Eyes and that He's alive at the end, and that Harry and his relationship may continue (though of course there would be problems, like Hermione had said Stocholmes Syndrome is a very real problem and one would question oneself extensivley about ones feelings for someone he had never felt any such way for) And then reconciling with his feelings toward Snape or toward Ginny, who gets to win Harry's heart permanently? If it's Snape will there eventually be the "talk" family, children ecctra, eccetra. And if Harry wanted children/family bad enough would he allow himself changed into a fertile woman for that time???

    Just stuff to think on.

Anyway I really must say your story was terribly addicting and I look forward to it's sequel and Snapes thoughts on Harry.

    Sincerely,

    LeAnne

Wow, you finished it. I had to start at the beginning again just to make sure it was fresh in my head...we both finished it! LoL

I'm impressed. You didn't give the predictable "everybody is happy with Harry & Snape together in gay bliss" ending. That would have been the easy way out of this, and from what I saw in a few reviews, you've gotten quite a bit of flak about it (also about the Ginny/Harry scene, strange what squicks some people huh?)

I think that Snarry is my favorite pairing, but Harry & Ginny is canon. Why should people crank about it? You managed to fit a sub-story into the canon with little fuss and few changes. I thought the whole tale was told and planned masterfully. While many stories don't end the way we'd like to (unlike shameless fan-service ones) it's more real to have to take what you get instead of what you want. Harry loves Ginny, it took him a while to get around to it, (Ginny sadly crushing on him from the start) but that's what it is.

Harry & Severus...now that gets the imagination fired up. All that vitrol, the passion and anger thrown back and forth, is often a sign of strong emotion. Not too far a stretch to twist it to passion of another kind. They say that love & hate are just two sides of the same coin.

I loved how your Snape could never really be pinned down. Maybe he did love Harry in his own way, but we know (even in the canon) he did it all for Lily. To live with the guilt of having a hand in her death, I can't even imagine the depth of self-hate he must have felt. It takes a strong and determined person to work for so long to bring justice to her killer and find redemption for himself. Even if he was afraid to die, I can't help but think it was also a relief.

I love long stories and you told a grand one. Amazing talent as a writer. Thank you.

Hi! It's me again. I'm so happy to see new chapters up at AFF. I tend to forget to check for the few (very few) LJ fics I've read and they sadly often never get finished (by me, that is).

As per your comment & question about wards and why Voldemort couldn't or wouldn't use them about his Horcruxes in chapter 54:

Well, if it stands to reason that one with magical senses can 'sense' wards or barriers, that would also make the person question, "Hmm...what are they guarding?" and they would go looking. The old adage of hiding in plain sight seems to be the rule. While Voldemort went to extremes to hide the locket, and stuffing the cup in a vault, he only handed Malfoy the diary for safekeeping, left the ring at the Gaunt home, and the diadem he left in the Room of Requirement's hidey hole filled with decades or centuries of discarded items (more like junk in some cases). If the horcrux doesn't emit some kind of signiture unless you to look for it, seems to me that it appears to be just a normal object. Possibly the essence of soul that resides inside uses that 'normality' to hide itself, thus is protected from casual discovery.

    How's that for a theory? :)

I do not yet know the words to best describe this work but I must try. your story was one of anguish, sorrow, and beauty. it made me laugh and cry. it made me happy and sad and feel so many other thins I can only portray as raw emotion. I am incredibly happy that you will be writing a parallel story to this one and look forward to reading it as well as all of your other works. thank you very much for writing such a knowledgeable, detailed piece, it was truly wonderful!

Ok, first and foremost, I refuse to believe this was your first fic.

This story is one of my most favorites. It was extreamly well thought out and I didn't question any of the non cannon elements which, for me is something new.

The only criticism i'd give is that there where a few times around the middle of this story where you were weaving an intricate web of thoughts that did become a little jumbled and hard to figure out which end is up - which may have been the intention.
Also, in the last 5 chapters or so there was a shift and it seemed as if you were rushing the last few chapters. Again this may have been the intention because of the action, it just felt almost unnatural.

I can not wait to read more from you, I believe you just acquired a life long fan.
