found HTC again, and the plot thickens, muahah. and, since i was prepared for its magnificence, i can reply coherently!!!

oh, how well i know that desire to beat the shit out of your mother for breaking something inside you that cant be mended with a handful of casual, thoughtless words... you did a very good job conveying a chaotic mob of conflicting emotions while still maintaining the urgency and immediacy of that scene. you contrasted the effects lucius' parents had on his evolving psychology very very well - his father's harsh, calculated brutality and his mother's self-indulgent, almost casual dismissal - and it shines quite a bit of explanatory light on his present-day defense mechanisms. its impossible to quantify which is the more painful wound, but i agree with lucius - the casual dismissal from the parent who, in european society at least, is supposed to be the comforter and the emotionally approachable one, is deep, biting, and lasting.

whew, and now narcissa knows, even if she doesnt KNOW faime is lucius' story. (although in retrospect, lucius might have visited another 'she'; he admitted their marriage was not emotionally intimate. but what other woman knowing his innermost secrets would evoke such rage in a man with such self-control? my reader's intuition says 'wife'.) lucius' reaction to hermione's defense of 'soif' - indeed, hermione's defense of the manuscript itself! - was most intriguing, especially on the heels of their deepening relationship. im glad to see hermione hesitating because of their past history and not because of a personal fear of transmission (they are wizards for merlin's sake, im sure they have perfected safe sex beyond our crude latex/polyurethane condoms!), and that she is logically working through the mental blocks she has to a natural reaction to such an intense man. the telepathic influence of one another's neurotransmitters is doubly intriguing - please elaborate on that bit!!

as an aside, i dont know how much you know or have gathered on the drugs for HIV, but if introduced as soon as CD4 white blood cell count drops below 350-500/ul and in proper combination, the treatments - protease inhibitors and nucleoside- and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors - can prevent the progression to full-blown AIDS for a decade or more. HIV has become more of a chronic disease than a death sentence, if the patient has access to care (ie, can afford it). if the muse/plot bunny so desires, lucius COULD realistically live a good while. anyway, just tossing in my two cents (paying entirely too much to go to school and learn about said drugs to let the opportunity slip!)

cant wait for the next chapter to see how this latest confrontation between hermione and lucius pans out!!!!

Wow, good as always. I can't wait for Thursday. What the hell he is thinking leaving like this for days, then returning and burning the script. Okay, Cissa has read it. Has she? But so what? Moine is the one! And they have to find a cure! They have to!!!!!
Thanks for the update. LOL, Alex

His mummy has the book doesn't she? That's why he's so mad, cause she doesn't realise it's his book...

I love this story. I check for new chapters every day and when there's a new one I read it non-stop. Keep writing, you are excellent at it.

And I'm guessing that either Lucius's mom read it, or Narcissa.

This chapter was intense...Was it perhaps Narcissa who has read the book?

Wow. I loved this latest chapter, and i can't wait for the next part of it. Thursday is so far away!

Immediatly when he sad "her" my mind ran away to either Narcissa or his mother. I don't know of any other her that would be significant enough to send him into this fury. I'm not sure i'm right with my speculaions at all, but as i am reading your story now as you update, i have forgotten some of the earlier details (i'm ashamed to say) and so cannot really predict who the "her" is. Obviously we wont know until the next chapter.

i figure it's more than likely Narcissa since she played a key part in Lucius' state when leaving him to his illness, but then again he doesn't seem to want to fault her much on that on the basis of her being better off not associating her or his family with a degrading muggle illness that's destroying the great pureblood Malfoy.

I'll end up speculating about this all day and will probably go back and read through your other chapters just to see, but i have a feeling i won't be absolutly spot on since i am, obviously, not the author and don't know, and wont know until the next chapter. Until then, brilliant story so far.

Eventually a new chappie! I've been waiting ages!

Never mind I understand you have commitments and they take up the bulk of your time. I'm really stupid with reading subtle clues so I'm going to say I don't know why Lucius is behaving the way he is...though it must be for a good reason. I can't wait for the next chappie and plan on devouring it wholeheartedly!

Well done for a wonderful chappie!

    Hello, hello!
Please could you write another little chapter? Would you consider that?
It would be absolutely lovely. Cause I keep on checking for updates and theres no sign of life.
The Story is too good to die there, wouldn't you agree?
