Wao! Ok, I am trying to wrap my head around this. According to Severus, he went with TDL in order to help him kill Harry, but then after TDL kills Lilly he turns Harry in to a Horcrux. Why would he do that? He never does anything without a good reason. Why was he the first person Harry saw when he woke up after the attack? Did he stay until Harry woke up or did he take Harry with him? I always thought Harry was attacked when he was a year old, and Severus goes to see Albus when Harry is two; was Harry with him all that time? One way or the other this is a new twist and trying to figure it out is great fun. Right now I have a million questions and quite a few guesses as to what happened. This story is very engaging.

Very sorry to use your reviewsite as sort of a forum - it just animates me to discuss.

@Jilliane: What do you mean a honorable Severus in regard to the Horcrux-thing? He definitely didn't have any noble feelings while creating Voldemort's horcrux. Apart from being something that will most likely (and should, in my opinion) shake your soul to its very foundations (if dark magic equals evil anywhere, then most definitely here), he hasn't told Dumbledore. That means that Albus not only didn't tell him to so, but that Severus is too ashamed to tell him and doesn't see any chance of saving the world through it (by telling Dumbledore).
So I don't see anything "noble" at all about it. That this will save the world is the equivalent of Gollum saving the world by his obsession with the One Ring, and I think almost nobody thinks of Gollum in his Gollum-state as noble - as he doesn't wear any long sexy robes, doesnt' have Dracula as his creative progenitor, isn't a bad boy turned good by design and isn't played by Alan Rickman. ;-)

The accidental creation of a horcrux is in my opinion acceptable in Voldemort's case since his soul was already severely damaged and only fractured pieces in him left - I think that's even the reason given by Dumbledore in the books, and it doesn't apply to any other living wizard (as far as we know).
However, I agree with you that quite a whole of a lot of reasons given in the books were unsatisfying, and Emily does a much better job!

@Ch26: It was nice, Harry acting like a human being and with the thereby accompanied layers. I also like your style of writing better this time (if i'm too blunt, please tell me and I'll review in a more roundabout way).
As for the developments in this chapter (prophecy, Harry's reaction etc) I'll have to wait until they fully ... develop to review.

    Yikes.

Angst Express, boarding at Gate 1!

Lucius is a bastard. Severus and Harry... well, they do need to work out the angst, but I'm sure it won't last terribly long. *hopehopehopehope*

    XD

    Great stuff!

    :-)
    again, your story is wonderful.
I especially adore the atmosphere you've created - dark by the possibility of magical slavebonding, but light by the characters and their relationships involved (at least, the main chars) - and the consistency of your story: Like when it's possible to control emotions or minds, of course the Dark Lord would do this, too - which almost all slash as well as fantasy authors tend to forget or ignore. I love your scene of Severus returning from the Dark Lord, because it's the atmosphere I like and would have expected in a world where one is able to read and manipulate the mind via magic.
Of course, there are some minor things like: wouldn't Lucius stay and torture Harry some more to see for himself how he reacts (regarding the bond)?
But all in all, I enjoyed your story enormously and am quite curious about what comes next - since you seem to be an irreformable fan of happy ends snape can't possibly die, but with the current situation it doesn't look too good for him. Of course someone like Hermione, who would be told, can realise the danger and convince Harry, who possibly isn't able to let Snape die even under these circumstances. Maybe he locks Snape in some dungeon and petrifies him whenever he needs a touch. ;-)

Thank you very much for your time spent for our delight!

Probably one of the most intense chapters yet besides the one where Harry found out about what Snape goes through. This is truly awful. I can't believe Snape purposefully made Harry a Horacrux after helping Voldemort kill his parents. I mean, it really is a awful crime and now it's so clear why he beat himself up the way he does. He deserved Harry spitting in his face, I'm sorry to say, but I'm a bit sad too because he's been trying to make up for it for the rest of his life I suppose but how do you make up for ruining someone's life like that, as a infant even. I'm really worried now about Harry's fate. I mean, besides his own bond to contend with, he has left the security of Snape's home and is vulnerable to any and all of Voldemort's minions, besides the fact we still don't know what the Willow ingredient does...I hope he doesn't go into a coma and pass out somewhere unfortunate for running away from his owner...but how in the world will he ever return and be OK after learning this?

Harry had to have known that Severus was there that night... Or I guess maybe he didn't want to face that thruth. I have to admit that the 'imprinting' was a great addition. Very believable and very sadistic! I love it. Great twist.
