Things are progressing amazingly! And such a creative way to corrupt the good and brave and kind HP - ashes of the final shattered piece of Voldermort's soul! I anxiously look forward to the progression of the story and am having trouble resisting the urge to jump ahead to the end!

As expected from someone like Severus but just how will he get Harry to give him those cocktrice(sp) without Harry getting suspicious. I dont know what to expect of this story anymore, such twist and turn you make are very unique

Dammit. I can definitely see Harry doing something like this, but I should have probably expected Severus would take on the mission by himself. It was a race to see who would get the clues together first, and not really much of one with Severus being one of the contestants. After all this time, it is a bit frustrating to read that Severus decided to do this on his own. He should have asked for someone's help, as Al might be killed in the crossfire of this rescue, making Harry's lack of being in on this plan meaningless (as Severus' justification was that Harry needed to take care of Al once this was all over). With two children at stake Severus should not be so careless as to not work with the close friends it has taken him this long to accumulate. However, for want to hope: Is Ginny the ONLY character death you meant? I mean, I do find that a bit sad, despite my dislike for her character, as it would have been nice for her to someday look less suspiciously at Harry. Wonderful job. I look forward to the next chapter.

The wait was well worth this chapter.
I don't even know where to begin. Your writing is impeccable, as usual. You weave the twists and turns of this story beautifully.
    Great job!

oh dear, Ginny died, and I wonder what Severus plans, he cannot really believe that he can rescue the two children alone....if he will be captured no one will know what had happened...except Harry finds him with the tracking spells...and he promised not to do that....

A sensible person, however, would leave a Pensieve memory or a written record, on some sort of time delay, so people would know where he'd gone and why if it all went wrong and he was captured. Even a letter sent to Hermione by second class (which takes three or four days) Muggle post would do it.

The plot is developing well, anyway, Severus is being his wearily competent self, Percy is also being competent, and your typing is improving. I only spotted one tiny typo - "Borgin and Bruke's".

Go Sev!! That's my Slytherin baby....he's back in true form here, and he's doing it for all the right reasons. I just hope Harry understands when it's over. I'm actually pretty shocked and saddened by this thing with Ginny. Wow. Poor Harry. He's been through so much, it's like...too much. I can't wait until he can get some relief and comfort from his man, but that won't happen until his son is back. Damn Percy! Go Sev, do your thing. Great update Emily, I'm reall fired up and rooting for this to go down in Sev's favor, and for justice to be served to those bastards who oblivated Ginny!

I resisted reviewing up til chapter 20, just in case the story went off the rails somewhere - but no, damn it, you've managed to ratchet up the tension throughout, and keep Severus in character. And I have more than enough questions to keep me reading - did Harry Obliviate the Headmaster? Is Hagrid a Horcrux now? Will Severus break? ...I am aggravated that you've written such a compelling story, and impatient to find out where it all ends up. Gah!

Huh - why didn't I get my update notice?

Hmm. On the one hand Percy, as somebody who was formerly affected by Dust, may be being justifiably paranoid: perhaps he has noticed something worrying about his nephew Al, and decided to spy on him. If Percy is the kidnapper, at least Hugo should be safe.

On the other hand, Percy, as somebody vulnerable to Dust, may have been taken over by what is living in Al, and be acting as its agent, in which case Severus is inviting trouble into the house - albeit he can probably outfight Percy.

Typo, btw - you've got Olbivation where you should have Obliviation.

Shit. This is getting so complicated, I 'm afraid to even guess what happened with Ginny and the boys. However I was thinking that those who were close to Harry when he was dusty -like Lee and George- may have developed a bit of paranoia mixed with guilt and could be trying to protect wizardkind. This new situation makes more sense as a team work. Of couse it can always be that someone who knows about the dust thinks that Harry's son would make a suitable Dark Lord and is still young enough to be easily manipulated. I could go on with 20 other theories but I just wanted you to see that this story is getting me all excited again. Death? Really?
