Reviews for Ashes of Armageddon

This is pretty tricky. Now that Severus has announced his fear, it seems like no matter what Harry does (not sure if he realizes it) things don't seem to have climbed up from rock bottom yet. If he gives in to his want to make Severus happy, Severus will always have glimpses of bitterness at his easy handing out of whatever Harry asks. If he leaves him alone, well Severus will just end up continue a hollow life. Obviously a connection would be the lesser of two evils, but ... I dunno. I'm interested in this twist you speak of, as I can't see where it might enter it. A end to the contract perhaps? In any case, I enjoyed the banter in the beginning about Harry's looks, and still am glad that Severus is sharing, although I'm sad to read that he believes and very well may be forced to tell Harry due to the bond.

There you go again, adding something sensual to the story. The way Harry took care of Severus before he panicked was just sexy in it's own right. I love the fact that Severus now confessed what he was afraid of, what he feels with Harry. With that I think their relationship will be better. Harry's words about raising those species for Severus alone was such a sweet gesture

Oh wow that was just a great chapter. It is so nice now that Harry and Severus are really starting over again.

    Author's Note:

Thank you all for your comments. I understand that some people think it's taking too long for the two of them to reconnect. Others think it's happening way too fast. Well, given the horrific torture and degradation that I wrote in book 1, there's no easy or comfortable way to resolve this. No matter how long they take to reconnect, or what they do to reach out to each other, it'll be awkward and unnatural to some extent.

However I write it, I am sure some people will be disappointed, so I just intend to write the way it feels authentic to me. Also, if this is first time you are reading one of my fics, I want you to realize, that in my stories, quite often, not all is at it seems; and some

ohh... They're not going into it that easily aren't they?....Severus suddenly needs of affection is just that, isn't? Does he really believe Harry LOVES him?Because I'd like to read A LOT MORE of backing off on his side towards Harry...
As always SUPERB job...PLEASE,PLEASE go on...

Yes - Severus is so unused to receiving affection and kindness (even from his parents or Lily) that he's bound to think at first that if somebody offers him affection, or he wants it, it's a sign of some unnatural weakness rather than a normal social interaction.

"I know you can't really love me because I know I'm a horrible person, and in order to prove I'm right and conform my own world view I'm going to behave so badly that I put you off me" is a game a lot of people with low self-esteem play, unfortunately. It's very wearing.

Awww...Severus just can't accept that someone wants him huh? I'm glad he finally gave in....I LOVE that he said to hell with work...thatta boy. It's about to get hot up in here and I can't wait to see where these two go with their new found reconnection. I know some people think the kiss and make up was too fast, but the type of emotional connection they share and the loneliness that the situation has forced on both of them, makes them both vulnerable and ideal for each other....I love the pace and I can't wait to see what's next : )

:D I was rolling my eyes through Snape's paranoia, and laughing that he is taking such a abstract almost igorant way of looking at Harry's very direct affections. Although all of that is understandable, just frutstrating. But my mind did a backflip the second the word "kiss" was mentioned. Heck yes! Finally! Although I do hope the two come to a time, when Severus would divulge things like alchohol being a source of adversion and the like. But I'm quite glad for these developments.

Yay! Severus if finally breaking down some barriers (or temporarily "losing his common sense" as he put it!)
    Great chapter!

Lovely! :D I'm glad to see the happy finally, although I'm still bracing myself for something sudden like a car crash (not that persay obviously). I really enjoyed their interactions and was glad for Harry's depth in really looking at himself and seeing why Severus got upset. Interesting living style for him, a sort of failsafe in case darkness lives in him. I liked the last line of the previous chapter that he had been missing Severus so much that he didn't even look at that he might be missing Ginny. Surprising though still that Albus cried, seeing as it didn't look like Ginny was upset or even knew that Harry still held feelings for Severus. So why he would burst out crying because of him... And Luna. I'm really interested in why her and Neville can't be together. Although I think it may have more to do with Neville than Luna. Great job so far.

I loved how you made Severus and Harry reconnect in someway. It amused me that Harry would be so straight forward with telling Severus that he wants to give Severus a reason to keep on visiting him. I just hope nobody really gets in the way of those two.

This chapter may not be your conventional fluff but it had it's own sweetness in it

Snape himself is an animal that doesn't do well in captivity, of course, although he's had to learn to endure it.

I agree with the other reviewer who said they were uneasy about how suddenly and readily they moved on to the touching stage, since neither of them is a touchy-feely type, although I assume that has something to do with the slave-bond.

You've got quite a large canon error here, btw. Harry did not trap Dudley behind the glass with the snake. He simply made the glass vanish, allowing the snake to escape, passing close by Dudley as it did so.

Awww..this is so sweet, he's trying to find a way to keep in contact...and how could Sev resist him? Harry's so cute when he's like this. I wonder if it will last though. Interesting that the slightest and most innocent things he's doing jogs memories of some of the most horrific things Sev had to go through. I hope that doesn't keep happening, but knowing your fic, I'm sure it's gonna get darker before it gets sweeter...or maybe it'll get sweetly darker? : ) Can't wait to see what happens when Sev returns...
