Reviews for The Same Species As Shakespeare

I can tell how little both are thinking now at least. Harry still being improperly treated (only the ache being gone, and the blood stopped) and both of them leaving the property. Yeah. It worried me that Harry did go to follow Draco first, and I could see the change occurring where in the beginning of this chapter he had Ron's cautious voice in his head reputing his hopes, when by the end he was coming to expect those "soft touches". Although, thankfully, by the same score Draco seems to be better here than before. Even if the chapter ended with him thinking of triumph, I like that a big point is that "he wanted it for the rest of his life". For him to want that, knowing that he only meant for it to be fleeting for him (as an act) and lasting for Harry... That gives me some hope. I definitely liked reading Narcissa's chapter here, and her encounting Draco for the first time. I found it ironic to read when Lucius still admitted that he thought pride was more important than freedom or peace, since either one of those would have saved Narcissa's life...not pride. It is driving me crazy on whether I'll be able to pinpoint this story as a happy or sad ending even when I do encounter that conclusion, and I'm worried that Lucius might die, and that that might be for the best. Wonderful job.

This is SO good! And the plot thickens...dum dum DUM! Ron speaks some bold words, so let's hope he can live up to them! Or that Draco will realize his heart's desire before he goes about senselessly hurting Harry and himself. Can't wait for the next chapter!

    (Chapter 14)

Is Snape fully aware of what Draco's plans for Harry are, and if he is, he actually condones them? His warning to Draco makes me think no, as it was in no way very strong, but if he is, and you've mentioned Draco's plans border and cannibalism and murder, is he really that twisted?

I liked Ron in this chapter. I liked very much his declaration to Draco, that he was willing to make Harry hate him if it would keep him safe. The mark of a true friend. As I said before, I find Snape to be the most intriguing character in this story, and I'd like to read more about him and what he's up to, what he's running from, what secrets he's keeping. You've mentioned there will be more about Lucius and Narcissa's relationship, and I'm looking forward to that.

I like it that I can't tell where this story will go. If it were someone other than you writing it, I would say that Draco will come to see the error of his ways, fall in love with Harry in a less twisted and obsessed way, and they'll be happy ever after, with Harry feeling smug that he was right and everyone else was wrong about Draco. Somehow, and more realistically, I don't see that happening with this story, for the simple reason that even if Draco does change his mind later, it would still be very sick of Harry to want to be with someone who once contemplated doing what Draco is planning to do....but then maybe that's it. I don't know. I can't even begin to guess what will happen, which is a good thing, and the thing that keeps me coming back for more. You're spinning a very intriguing web. Very much looking forward to the update. (sans ring. Yay!)

Dear goodness. I was really proud of the Ron that spoke with Harry. I like that you gave the more believeable role by making Ron have a similiar feeling of obsession. He explained his thoughts on how "twisted" he felt Draco to be, while with Harry's words also confirmed that he wasn't just hanging on to old prejudices. It was funny to read Draco's POV, in that he thought Harry would go to him. Now, as long as Ron doesn't drive Harry to that point, I'm happy to think that Harry wouldn't ever just go to Draco, since what he really wants is returned feelings. I was a bit tense reading Ron's word whiplash at Draco, since I feel that will only reinforce Draco's hate of Harry, in that Harry has so many people who love him. Although I doubt he'll also think of how unlikely it is that Ron or Hermione will abandon him, should Harry's heart be broken, and his character embarassed by Draco. I wonder how he plans to "go around him", other than to try and force him off the case, although as Harry put it, that would just put Harry in greater danger, with no less motivation. Severus was amusing with his help, as curt as it was. But I had assumed already that Draco was going to be smart enough to keep everything at bay until the case was over anyways. He'll be left wide open for attacks if he hurts Harry, as no one in the Ministry would be sending him any more bodyguards if events play out like I think they will. Especially since I thought things would tie up better if the case is finished first, since that would give Draco the moment probably where he can have his obsession less tainted. This does make the story rather more exciting now. :) Wonderful job.

    (Chapter 13)

I know this is your story and you must write it as you see fit, but having said that, thanks goodness Harry has finally taken that ring off again!! And here's hoping he leaves it off for good. I honestly can't imagine why he would ever agree to wear it in the first place, no matter how close friends he and Hermione are. He knows what it's like to have someone delving in his mind, reading his thoughts, he's had experience with Voldemort and Snape doing so, and I would think that he would find that ring to be an extremely uncomfortable and distasteful reminder of that. I will admit too, that I found it a bit squicky for him to be kissing Draco, rubbing against him, knowing that Hermione was privy to what he was thinking as he did. I hope he keeps the ring off. Hermione's nagging aside, I found the rest of the chapter, as well as the ones prior to be very interesting. You're slowly building the intrigue and tension, as well as the anticipation, it's a nice, complicated and involved storyline, and is, as always, well written and thought out. All combined, you've got me drawn in, wondering, and wanting more. I find Snape to be the most intriguing and interesting, and wonder what he's running from, what secrets he's keeping. I like the passages with Narcissa's diary, and poor Lucius. How shocked he must have been to discover his wife's true feelings, how tragic to find out now that she didn't love him, how heartbreaking that he still loves her, and how pitiful that Draco disdains him. The attack on Harry was excellent, and I like it that even he was fooled into thinking it really was Draco for a few moments. I like it that Harry has some moments of clarity through his lust and desire for Draco, and doesn't fully trust him, that there's always that little lingering bit of doubt. Looking forward to the update.

This chapter made me chuckle constantly. I'm really interested in how Severus took Harry's memories, and whether he ran away/was surprised because of the imposter's likeness to Draco, or to Harry's ability to see through the imposter's disguise. Are we to understand that the monsterous look that the imposter gave when he was discovered, was just a regular sneer, or did the face contort to his real appearance? So that, Severus must have recognized the imposter as the time skip Draco, or a separate persona altogether. Although it is possible that he knows something more about wand lore (not sure if he'd know more than a wandmaker though) when he possibly found out about the connection between Harry and Draco's wands. You've done a great job making him such a ambiguous characer. Why he was staring at Harry, why he's being an ass still, and why he ran away. His character leaves so many questions... Lucius using Ron is clever, and I look forward to the slow down of Harry/Draco's relationship so that Draco has more time to realize and identify his feelings. Although, I must admit Draco left me a bit disgruntled with his satisfied feeling from seeing Harry's blood. That was kind of scary... o_O From his thoughts this time, it almost seemed that he'd be more satisfied with killing Harry, then just taking him down several pegs. I'm worried for Harry, and although when they started kissing, my eye twitched at the idea that he was still connected with Hermione, I hope Ron can succeed where she failed. Being less annoying would be fabulous too. lol Harry is falling fast... Wonderful job. :)

I know you weren't sure because I like to keep my suspicions mysterious as you like to keep your plots that way *g* but, yeah, this chapter didn't shake at all, more like cemented it. The other Draco has only one reason to get desperate enough to try something like timeline switching and only one to go so pedantic about his task... that his actions in his own time didn't play out the way he wanted at all, but he wouldn't see before it was too late. Whether his intentions are pure and simple now I dare to doubt, because everytime I manage to unravel one of your plotlines in the slightest, you throw in a twist of surprise to spite me *G* not that I'm complaining, it makes the reading all the more joyous... anyway, the chapter was genius and Sev well... he's still a bit to ensconed in his prejudice to get through with the thinking, so I'm waiting for him to get the drift... should be really funny!!

Well my half-assed ramblings are out the window. The wand was a key point that I forgotten about. As for why I felt before that Draco would have to kill the real Draco to potentially stop the real Draco from hurting any of those three guys: I dunno. But I don't pretend that Draco would have Hufflepuff feelings in trying to convince the other that he is going to commit a grevious error. It would seem more Syltherin to me for the problem to just be gotten rid of, rather than to go out on a limb and hope the plan works.

Let me say this though: I absolutely adored the part where Harry was contemplating about the prettiness of the rings coexisting on his hand. That was a lot of awesome symbolism of Harry's desires to have both worlds. Awesomeness! :) And yes, Snape is an asshole, I agree, although he is an arse that saves Harry's life quite often so... eh. He's okay. :) It is too bad OR I hope that Draco will be able to see that scene somehow between the imposter and Harry. Goodness! From an outsiders perspective who doesn't know that Harry feels when Draco's wand is near, that would be seen as pretty darn romantic. :) Wonderful job. I look forward to more. Are you planning on continuing your Ron story? Just curious.
