I am almost a puddle of drooling lust. Talk about hanging on to each word... things certainly turned tack in that chapter. brilliant.

Now we're getting somewhere!!! What a delightful build up of - what I hope will be - a very long story.

    As always, thanks for writing.

Another great chapter. I look forward to reading the next one to see if Hermione will begin to figure out that Simon is Severus.

I love this story and the way in which you chose to write it. Letters are so much more intimate. People are more willing to write in a letter that which they would hesitate to say out loud, and the same holds true for our favorite characters. Our "Simon" would never reveal how he feels about Dumbledore, let alone his preferences for reading and drinking, and Hermione's suggestion to try a bubble bath? It would never pass her lips if she were standing in front of "Simon"; but in letters, it seems those barriers are easier to climb across. I am eagerly awaiting the next series of correspondence, hoping for more personal bits to surface and perhaps a suggestion to retrieve a book in person? Hmmm, lovely scenarios are filling my head. Thanks!

That was a chapter worth reading twice. I loved your analysis of Dumbledore and his feelings on his chess pieces. Simon will eventually have to reveal himself. He can't hide behind a name and expect Hermione not to look.

the last two letters were quite telling about how these two see each other and themselves in relation to the other person. Simon's letter was particularly unsettling. He reveals too much of himself and not enough. His motives, I believe, even to himself are contradictory.

The new chapter was a treat.

OMG that was an astonishing and powerful chapter. This is a fic the reader wants to savor each individual word. Does she know? I think she suspects, but maybe won't let herself quite believe it.

I am really enjoying this story. How long will it take for brainy Hermione to figure out who "Simon" is- or at least generate a list of possible suspects? Or will he have to confess? At least now she knows he's no "Grandpa".. lolol!!

Another beautiful chapter. Severus' reflections on his life were quite wrenching juxtaposed against Hermione's complaint of coddling. I love Yorrick also. He's the best bird.
