Ch. 37 While this was unexpected, I still feel sorrow--not for the inevitable ending but for Harry's likely despair. In spite of your trepidations, the battle scene was excellently crafted. Even that brief hallucination felt right, a temporary false oasis of peace amidst the bloodshed.

I love this story. I've actually cried several times, it's so beautifully written. Can't wait for the next chapter! That cliff hanger at the end of chapter 36 is driving me nuts!

If I had known this story wasn't finished, I probably wouldn't have started reading it the other day - but I am so, so, so glad that I did.

I've been reading this story all day for two days now and I just LOVE it. Is it appropriate for me to gush here? I'm going to gush. If someone ever asks me "What's this Snarry nonsense all about?" and I could only show them one work of fiction, it would be this. It's long and it's angsty but it's worth it because it's *real*. Well, as real as a fiction of a fiction can expect to be - it feels like it really could've happened in the story. One of my biggest pet peeves in Snarry fics (all fics, really) is when characters are made to do things that they never would, just to get them into bed quicker. This fic never does that any more than it absolutely needs, and I am grateful for it, for all sixteen and a handful more chapters it took to get to where it needed to be so that when the sexy things finally do happen, and the quiet things, and all the rest of it, it makes sense and it feels right.

That said, I can't wait to see this finished. I love the way it's going and I really hope it has a happy ending - that is to say, I hope Severus and Harry make it out alive and more or less whole.

I've written too much already, but I can't say enough how much I love this story. I was spoiled with 36 amazing chapters all at once and now I'm hungry for the rest.

In my haste, I forgot to mention my appreciation for Remus' involvement in the story. He is one of my favorite HP characters and has been portrayed wonderfully in your story. I'm so glad Remus and Snape became friends before the final battle. I have to make a plea for the wolf's life. Please don't kill Lupin! Or Snape! Or Harry! But I do hope Hermione gets to fry Lucius. Oh and please don't kill Hermione or Neville! Sorry for so many requests. You are such a good story teller; so much so, that I have become emotionally invested in this story.

On a small side note, I love that Firenze made an appearance. It made me laugh. (After seeing A Very Potter Sequel, I giggle everytime I see Firenze's name in a story.)

I can hardly wait for the next chapter.

Oh my. What to say about such a wonderful story? You, master story teller, have made me weep at points and burst out laughing at others. After the first chapter, I resolved to read all the available chapters, and I was not disappointed for a moment with the story. I love that the typical plot issues have been avoided. I love that you did not shy away from the angst. The realistic and crushing sadness you described at Ron's funeral was perfect. The slow build between Harry and Severus was adorable. I loved the time given to Snape's self-loathing and the time spent on Harry's pain. I love the relationship that Harry and Snape share by the end of chapter thirty-six. It's so sweet, loving while remaining appropriate for both of their personalities. Bottom line, I love this story.

Oh man! Please don't let Severus die or I will Crucio you. Using AK would be too much, I'm not a killer.
