Re Trickie: You know, I did want to name her after the empresses who ruled in their own right, but I didn't like Theodora Irene nearly as much. Livia Maria sounds good with the surname, so that's what she became. As to Lacey, I did have her graduated and receiving her commission around 21--figuring four years for college--so she would be about 38. I wanted her to be close to Snape's age at the time, which worked out perfectly. Amusingly enough though, Brynn would be in about her mid-20s, which makes the age difference between she and Malfoy even greater. >_< So be it.

Re Tambra: Yes, little Livvy is definitely going to be a daddy's girl. Glad you enjoyed the story. I was going to make Malfoy and Brynn just a fling since he was rebounding, but decided that without Narcissa and Draco, he would need someone else. I like that in canon he cared more about his family than his supposed political convictions in the end.

That was who I immediately thought of when Lucius announced the baby's name. Livia was my favorite character in 'I, Claudius'. Who wouldn't love a character who gives her gladiators a pep talk before the games and tells them she doesn't want to see any pig bladders filled with blood or fake deaths, she wants to see real blood and real deaths? She must have been the inspiration for Trixie (my name for Bellatrix because she would hate it so much).

I'm pleased to see that Severus got his snakeskin boots, Lacey should get a pair too, since she kill Nagini to save Severus. How old is Lacey? If she went to the Air Force Academy, she was 17 or 18 when she entered. The 4 years at the academy count towards pay purposes but not towards retirement, so she was 21 or 22 when she graduated and got her commission. So if she has about a year left to a 20 year retirement, she must be somewhere around 39. Will she make Lt.Col. before she retires?

Yes, I did mean that Draco would be getting a sibling, Lucius isn't Oedipus after all.

Thanks ladies. I appreciate that no one on this forum was upset with Ron's death. This is why I include warnings of character death. I also had to have Harry use the killing curse, because frankly he DID have a lot of anger and a lot of justifiable reasons to use an "unforgivable," so much so that I'm sure he'll be *forgiven* for it. In the next chapter, the aftermath of all of this, including snakeskin boots and what is going on with Brynn. I did decide Lucius cared too much about family for them to simply be a fling. He's just lost his wife and son thanks to poor choices and pureblood mania, so he needed some recompense for basically changing his entire worldview.

And Trickie, I'm assuming you mean Draco's going to have a sibling?

Finally blood, guts, and gore for the Death Eaters. I really enjoyed that, I usually hate violence, but this time it was the Death Eaters suffering all the collateral damage and that makes a big difference.

I gather Brynn is pregnant, so Lucius is about to have a sibling in maybe 8 months. I loved the way Lucius solved the problem of not having a silver sword for Lacey, we know for sure in your version that Greyback is really dead. I would have asked for a bloody death for 'He Who I Find Most Tedious & Tiresome', but I doubt if he had any blood in his veins. Will both Lacey and Severus get a pair of those snakeskin boots?

It's too bad they are fictional, we could use Lacey's team and the wizards with the star on their right cheek in Afghanistan and to use as a threat to Iran.

Aw, I so enjoy this story. I bet Brynn's preggers. Lucius is one potent animal.

I'm glad your Voldemort Death wasn't as lame as DH's death. Harry had a lot to be angry about when it came to Voldemort.

Looking forward tot he next chapter.

Thanks Trickie, and I'll have to remember to put in an order for limoncello since my step is still stationed up there. I do still have your email, and I need to update Tambra with the new chapter too; in fact, one for "The Dream" should be up later today. And no, the boots/wallet have not been forgotten. Neville's not out of the picture either. As to the fellatio reference, kindly remember the woman can do anything with a sword. She fights with them, she can swallow them. Reminds me of a line from a John Cusack movie where he sleeps with a circus performer (Mia Farrow):
--"I can't believe anyone would be that good in bed."
--"You've never gone to bed with a sword swallower."

As to Brynn and Malfoy, I like to think they're mainly just blowing off steam... so to speak.

Great lemons, it was worthy of Limoncello. Speaking of Limoncello one of the Maryland wineries makes their own (it's fantastic) and I put some into the sangria I made tonight from one of their red wines. it was the perfect thing to drink while I read this.

I'm glad Brynn and Malfoy finally resolved their differences. Vive la diff

Trickie: Niles Crane! lol That's a great comparison. I'll have to look up the story where he pulls a Piggy; in fact, once I've finished my Snape fics, I do have a Lucius/OC that I started and is begging for attention. First things first though.

Tambra: sorry for the spew inducing cuteness, but he had let that slip for far too long. And yes, Lucius was begging for a reprieve and god knows he looks good on his knees where he belongs, so he got it. This time.

As for updates, if I don't list it on Twitter, I will let you know through email. Right now this story is begging to be finished and it has my focus.

Aw, I missed so many chapters. I love this story so much. Now it has Lucius in it. Yay!

I'm glad that Severus has found his way around Lily's memory to really see Lacey. OH, and I really loved the scene where he finally asked her her first name. Okay, I may need a new keyboard after that, because honestly, I wasn't expecting it and had taken a drink before I read it. Spit-takes do not go well with electronics.

Thanks for sharing. And I would really enjoy update notices if you give them.

So, it's true love for them both? They are well matched abd they belong together.

I loved Lucius doing a bit of Niles Cranes when he wiped off the seat with his hankie. I'm reading one that was updated yesterday and has him pulling a Miss Piggy 'Moi?' when he is called into Kingley's office to 'talk' about an interview he gave the editor of the 'Prophet'. He's a good guy in that story, but he does have his Miss Piggy moments. I love the way so many different writers handle Lucius differently. He seems to be the most versatile character from the books for fan fic writers.

Yes, when life gives you lemons, make a hot whiskey. When life gives you limes, grab the tequila. Or something like that. Snape would go with either one, really.

And yeah, that song's been around a while and just about everybody has done it. Kind of like "Minstrel Boy" or "Whiskey in the Jar."

    Lovely, lovely lemons!

Now I know why that melody was running through my head when I read those words. My subconscious recognized them and put them with the correct melody, even though my conscious self didn't.

Harrogate is a lovely town 9 miles from Menwith Hill. It was a spa town from Georgian time through Victorian times and it's still upscale and full of Victorian buildings. There are lots of good pubs and restaurants there, but my favorite is still Betty's Cafe, there is a good reason it's world famous. It's a great town for walking, the Valley Gardens are marvelous and The Stray (a swath of open land that sweeps in a crescent shape through the middle of Harrogate) is a sight to behold in March when it's filled with crocuses.

At bottom of the road that goes into the other end of Darley (the road I should have taken my bike down because it curves and winds so it's less steep) is the Duke of Wellington pub. It's a marvelous place to go for a meal or a drink and the view over Nidderdale is fabulous. The last time we were there in 2003 we stayed at The Old Vicarage, a B&B.

I'm looking forward to those lemons.

"There is no Menwith, but there is a Birstwith a few miles to the East."

I actually wanted something big enough they might be able to kill some time, find a restaurant, etc., which is what Lacey would be thinking. Just from eyeballing it on a map, I went with Harrogate and appears to be a mid-sized place that the soldiers might hit in their spare time. Far enough away to not have any military reminders. So it has been edited thus.

And ouch! Your knees... The last time I had scrapes that bad, it was more than ten years ago and ironically enough I landed on them while chasing a soldier. We had a battalion picnic and someone thought it would be fun to douse the girl in the white shirt. He took off under the pavilion and I hit a patch of water and skidded on the concrete. Still got the scars, too. Little shit.

Anyway, lemons are on the menu for today.
