I like this story. Please continue.
You had an error though with regards to Australia. The seasons in the lower hemisphere are reversed.
Winter in England would be Summer down-under. So no snow at Christmas.
Australia would have snow in June/July/August. Heck the water in the flush toilets rotates the opposite direction down there. Weird, but true.
