That was a pip! I especially loved that line "You do it...You have the baby." I wonder just how many women over the thousands of years of existance have said that one? LMAO! Excellent work.

I LOVED this chapter! I was totally enthralled with the idea of a "normal" birth. My little ladies tried to appear the day after my "early" baby shower at 26 weeks. I managed to keep them in until 31 weeks, but it was a struggle - lots of nasty drugs. I didn't get to hear them cry - I couldn't even see them until hours after they were born. Even then, I couldn't hold them. Even though you didn't experience it, in my mind - you captured the miracle of birth & I am headed back to read this chapter again! *sniffles* You're an amazing writer!

YEAH!! I laughed out loud during this update. I cringed for her and him. I loved Harry's moments with Severus. And, I smiled at his nervous angst. This was utterly perfect. And, him smiling at the end...ahhhhhhhhhhh

    Loved it!! Thank you. HG4eva

A wonderful chapter. I am glad that Hermione had an easy labor since she was overdue. I look forward to the next one to see what they choose to name her.

great chapter, and i love how hermione had a 'nice' birth experience. it was sweet of harry to give severus some confidence and support like that, the poor man. what a nice ending to the chapter, seeing sev smile for the first time. that chapter title wasn't inspired by bad english, was it?

my first birth experience was textbook, seriously. 12 hour labor, but i got lucky and only pushed for about 20-30 minutes total, but i had to wait nearly 20 minutes just for my ob to arrive. got drew cleaned up and i said to my husband, isn't there an A's game on? drew was born late september, and they were in the the playoff hunt!
second was not so easy, bled at about 18 weeks and landed in the hospital. bled at 28 weeks, the day we were to move into our new house, and landed in the hospital overnight. this time, i didn't stop bleeding for nearly 5 days. ultrasound showed the baby (sam) as large to his gestation and apparently healthy. my water broke at about 9pm on a saturday night, a few hours after my mom arrived from illinois. little sam was born at 12:54 am, easter sunday, at 3 lbs 15 oz...he was 29w4d. it was scary, and he spent a month in the hospital, which was 1 month less than expected. today, he's a healthy, 4 1/2 year old, and you'd never know how hard his birth was.

looking forward to the rest of the story!
