Chapter 9 is awesome! I cried all over my laptop, and now my keys are sticky. I would ahve to say that this fic is a little outside the comfort zone of most people, or at least I would hope so. Well done, and thanks again for your review and kind words.

That was a hard chapter to read. Very, very beautifully written. So well written, that it hurt badly, because I could feel the emotions right along with her.

You truly are an amazing writer. I bow my head to you for your courage to tackle such a difficult story line.

Tears make it hard to type - I needed two tries to review...

This chapter (9) brought me to tears. I have been extremely blessed to have carried both of my pregnancies to full term (going into labor on my due date with my daughter and being a week late with my son) but the fear of losing a child was (and still is) always there just beneath the surface. I can only imagine what you went through with your babies but I am glad that you were able to...continue living for them and that you are now able to work through this with this story. Seeing how my two favorite characters are interacting with each other, learning about the state of their own marriages... It is easy to see how they can end up coming together. They are both very needy in this story, even if they don't come straight out and say it (and you don't either) but I can see it there. The need to be accepted. The need to be forgiven and to forgive. The need to be loved and to feel like they actually matter in the world. It really is hard to be in a relationship where the other half sees you not as a spouse and lover but rather a room mate and caregiver. (however that can be taken) I can not wait to see how this plays out.

    Excellent work!

I am reading this chapter at my mum's and poor thing is very confused as to why I am sobbing at her computer. But I agree that angst can be cathartic, both reading and writing. With he way things are going in my life, it's good to read about a much deeper hurt than my own. So, once again, thank you for a wonderful chapter.
I hope you have fun at the Twilight premier. My very large group will be geeking out till the early morn with homemade Tshirts and vampire related snacks. Yeah, I'm that bad.

A very moving chapter. Where my Grandad and two Uncles are buried (one was 18 and the other on his 22nd birthday - within 40 days of each other in different car accidents on the same stretch of road back in 1965 - my Nanna, Mum and the rest of the family were indeed devastated, how my Nanna coped I do not know - to this day their memories are kept alive in the family) are a row of baby graves, quite often we come across parents in their grief, it is heartbreaking to see. I don't think parents ever get over the lose of a child, whether a baby or fully grown, it is not the natural way of things to pass after your children and I think that makes it harder to bear. You've written Hermione's emotions so well, I hope it was cathartic for you to write. I'm looking forward to where this is going, can already see this is going to be an emotional roller coaster.

I have finally started reading this story, and as usual you deliver excellent work! I especially (and I think I have done so before) want to thank you for you habbit of submitting the first 5 chapters in one go, and thus allow us to be familiar with the fic, and even more so for submitting completed fics!
I feel sorry for most of the characters, and though I usually love Ron-bashing I will give him some excuses for his behaviour due to the loss of Oliver (if he in any way hurt Hermione, the excuses will dissapear like snow on a hot stove). You make an excellent portrait of those involved and I am looking forward to read more!!!

    Ah ha!
So this is that the Lucius/Hermione story you were mentioning in "The Potions Master's Baby." I found it!
Well, no, I just took the time to click on your profile and see if added anything new to this category yet, LOL.

It's a solemn, but lovely story so far. I like the relationship you developed so far between Lucius and Hermione. As with all your stories, its the same, but unique for the subtle differences. And each time, there are somet traits you keep the same with all your characters.

Luicus was rather sweet taking Hermione out to dinner, I like that about him in this story. His arrogance hasn't shown through...as yet. But will it? I don't think it fits in with this particular storyline though. I see him as being bruised, not broken, and not outrightly arrogant. At least not outrightly arrogant to her.

I have to tell you too, I especially enjoyed reading his conversation with Narcissa. His responses to her were very classic and it made me think. Hmmm, if only a guy would talk to me like that. Well, no. Not in that context actually, but you know what I mean. That wit and charm that bites just a little bit. Argh! Please tell me why fictional men aren't real?

So I'm listening to the new Enya CD, "And Winter Came" while I was reading your story...it makes perfect background music, let me tell you! You should seriously have a go at listening to a track or two while reading back your own story! Especially, two tracks -- "Last time by Moonlight" and "The Ghost of Christmas Past." I suppose it also helps that your chapters are short and I'm a quick reader :o)

Can't wait for the update, as always, am taking my thesis writing break w/ your stories!
    Much love!

I'm really enjoying Hermione and Lucius' developing friendship. I can buy into Ron grieving this way, and possibly laying blame with Hermione. Men, even fictional ones, with self esteem issues are draining. Thanks for the update, I look forward to your next. :)

I squeed when he said that ending sentence.

I just want to hug 'Mione and lick Lucius. Is that bad?

    Looking forward to more!

    Love, as always.

I'm very intrigued by your story thus far. I'm feeling somwhat sorrowful after reading your chapters, it's not so much dark as it's angsty. Lucius, Hermione, and even Ron seem so very sad. The way that you are developing how Lucius and Hermione are beginning to know one another begins to highlight what will be the foundations of attraction they'll begin to feel for one another. I do like Naricissa being called an attractive piece of fluff, she seems so vindictive. I've enjoyed all of the stories you have written so far, it's cool to see you going out on a different limb which I'm sure will be just as amazing as your other work.

Excellent chapter. Very dramatic. It's quite a bit different from your other works. It really shows how great of a writer you are.

How unfortunate that Ron cannot look beyond himself. Instead of sex, Hermione would have needed a hug and some kind, genuine words, some conversation. Somehow he manages to do everything possible to push her away. As the story is called "The Affair", I am not hoping for a fairy tale wedding in the end, but I sure hope that there is something good in store for them.
