Hi again. Sorry I don't have a lot of time, but I had to say this chapter made me think how funny it is how two people with no desire to know one another are being forced to get to know one another. And, they don't even realize it's happening. Great work! HG4eva

Good chapter! I like the irony that he is the one who recognizes her personal isolation as well as, subconsciously, her need of him. Will that drive him to engineer his release to protect his wife from herself? He has an immense need to be needed, after all.

even just by reading the author's note i can tell this is going to be good. loving the premise and, as i've JUST gotten into HG/SS, look forward to reading my first story that's not PWP and my first marriage law as well =]
adding to my bookmarks and will try my best to review, although usually i end up being to engrossed to remember, so apologies in advance. but be assured that i'm already a fan after the 1st chap! xD

Wow, that was very well written. I feel so badly for him. He is so lost and disconnected. It's refreshing to read a story where Hermione is the strong one and Severus the weaker one. I know she's not as together as she appears to him, but she has a backbone, inner strength, her own money, etc. Well done. :-) And, as for my review, yeah! Glad to know I wasn't completely off. lol And, you can't ruin this story for me. It's too good. :-)

Thanks and looking forward to Wednesday, HG4eva

Another great chapter, the only thing I noticed is that the expression is "chalked it up," like writing on a blackboard. But, I'm enjoying this story so far.

Nice chapter. He is going to have consider his own humanity at some time or another, despite his internal desire to see himself as deserving of punishment. Cutting himself off from the amenities of civilization obviously was one means to this, but a basic human need is for physical comfort, in spite of any emotional response to circumstances. Sooner or later he will emerge from himself (aka: get his head out of his ass)and then Hermione is going to have a full-fledged husband on her hands! I absolutely love the way you are doing the characters; it's totally believable to me, as I've said before. More, please.

No, you're so right, that just wouldn't do! Nobody's like that.

So all he needs now is a new matress... Okay, and get out of that hole, but I think that he will eventually, right?

Must be bizarre to have nice things again after such a long time. Though I really wonder why he's still in there if he has enough proove to get out? There must be a reason for that? I am really curious to know it!

I like your story sooo much! As you know I am more a DM/HG or LM/HG reader (and I write nothing else), but as long as it's a good tale told and written in a nice way, I am always open to other things, too... Love yours...

I can almost feel Severus relaxing in his leather chair, flicking through a book as if he were in his own quarters at Hogwarts! Hermione seems to know her professor more than she might care to admit, I think!

I am truly loving this - will keep an eye open for those updates too!

Well, Hermione is once again making a man out of Severus in a more subtle way. Slowly she is bringing back the self-respecting man he once was in his own right. A single gift box at a time is going quite a long way to him returning back to our Snape. Although new garments and towels are not bringing him back alone, Hermione's visits will do the majority...i think.
