Echoes of the Borgias, the Medici, the Valois, the Wars of the Roses, and a few others. Nothing like a little Cain and able to jump start a family feud. but I think it's far more likely Liren was attempting a pre-emptive strike and it backfired. So Narcissa is involved? Makes sense--he could hardly manage this on his own, could he?

I WAS RIGHT! I had to re-read the last part a few times but I was right. I can't wait to see where you go with this new twist!

Ok, Evil thought here: What if it isn't Liren, but someone that WANTS to be him? The body would be removed to reinforce the illusion that they had taken over his identity as the 'lost' Malfoy. He would adopt the dead Liren's habits, likes and practices, and couldn't risk being seen in public as he wouldn't be a perfect twin to Lucius. It would also reinforce his resentment of Lucius as the one person who could destroy the fantasy. Did Liren have a lover or friend devastated by his loss, or a rival who envied him?

Wow, great chapter! Your imagination really went into high gear when you described the way the Malfoy deceased had been preserved. In a weird sort of way, I would like to be able to bring out the dead on Samhain. There are some I miss terribly. Why did I feel like the body was going to be gone? Because Lucius wouldn't have gone there unless he felt reasonably sure the reason for the current troubles had something to do with Liren. I am really enjoying this story!

Cultural remnant of ancestor worship? Interesting. But now Lucius has a major clue. Hope he remembers to pass it on to his son. And what could Lucius' playmate have to discuss with Hermione, hmm? Tips on flicking a whip, perhaps? More, more, more!

*snickers* Poor Hermione is confused about her reactions. And Poor Draco for having to see that yes, his father *does* have a sex life.

I never even thought of Narcissa. Is Draco gonna get to her in time?! What would Lucius say if she went missing? I think he'd be too busy drooling over Hermione to notice much. And of course Hermione's reaction to the DVDs is going to come back to bite her in the ass, so I'm very much looking forward to that. Or, maybe, Luc will just bite her in the ass...

By that definition, this person would fall under a sociopath, rather than a psychopath, using the horrific nature of the killings as a tool rather than for personal satisfaction. Lack of empathy, the focus on an obscure personal goal, feelings of persecution and being denied their due recognition, delusions of grandeur, and the elaborate planning involved indicate high intelligence coupled with possible schizophrenia. Chess masters often develop similar traits, but usually without the attendant violence to others. Ted Kazinski had most of those traits as well.
