Hmm, a double blind, perhaps? Has Narcissa's madness been played as well as Lucius' expectations? Dark hair, longer than shoulder length--Severus is dead and on their side, Bellatrix is dead and not methodical enough; Sirius went through the veil. Pansy Parkinson, Romilda Vane, Katie Bell, Cho Chang, Adrian Pucey, and a few others spring to mind. As for Hermione, as I wrote in another review: Female cops fight dirty!

Ok, just re-read ch. 70. Fake referred to Liren in the third person for the first time when he said that Narcissa gifted him with the property the moment 'your brother departed this life"--If he died at age 16, she didn't have that authority; if later, then Liren began this debacle and this isn't Liren's spirit and we have a real problem with the force cage. At the very least there is some real personality fragmentation going on here under all the obsessive behavior. If he used the blood of a victim to create the cage, Lucius is going on a diet whether he needs it or not. And what of our two would-be rescuers?

Two ways out: the offspring of our Fake, and the fake's blood, hopefully procured by a swift punch in the snoot. The wards may hold Lucius, but they can't touch Narcissa's sole heir, Draco. Distant third possibility is that since Liren and Lucius are genetically identical, Lucius' blood would also work but with more trouble. Their magical signatures are different so it's a distant third. Potter is a fourth, since his Paternal grandmother may well have been a Black. But since Sanguine Spiritus could also be translated as 'the spirit of the blood', Angus may also be a possibility, if tweaked a bit. or just grab a wet chunk of that melting corpse back there...eww. Gonna be sick now.

Polyjuice does not transfer either skills or memories, kinetic or mimetic. This means Faux-liren has had to practice as well, which we saw earlier.Everything depends on how long it has been since learning those skills: if only since the body was removed from stasis, she has an excellent chance--cops fight dirty. Female cops fight dirtier. If the PJ wears off soon, Lucius may have a front row seat to a mudwrestling match! Second thought: Shouldn't Lucius, as lord of the castle, be able to negate anything put up by our perp? Malfoys always have a way out of a trap, even ones they set. The castle wards should have protected him from this, shouldn't they?

Hehehe. I so think I'm right about who the murder is. I was wondering about it many chapters ago. Great job at leaving things just enough hidden so that there were questions about the true identity. I went back and forth several times(I don't want to say anything out right so I don't ruin it for anyone). I could be wrong though and it be someone totally different. (which would be fun too). I really like stories/shows/movies where I can constantly guess what's really going on. Well done. I can't wait for more.
