However this ends, I don't even care anymore. You've shown how special and strong true friendship and love is, even in the face of torture, cruelty, and death. This is really beautiful Emily. I love how Ron called Draco on the madness of his actions. So ironic to have a member of the Trio speak up for Snape by pointing out how he was unfair on Draco's behalf. Draco sounds like he's truly lost it, but that's what real war does to people, and it doesn't help that his father is there encouraging it all. I'm glad that they don't blame Hermione for the fires, they're right, the blame is with the one hunting them. So shocking how Tonks died. That was cruel. I can only imagine what they will endure...I love Hermione teaching Ron to sing despite him not being able to carry a tune, and STILL Harry uses humor...they all do. It's inspirational in a way. I love the song, and the meaning, how fitting.

OK, so I think I see where this is going, bring it on....this is wonderfully heavy dark!fic. I really love it.

OH NO!!!!!!! They were so close... so fucking close!

My heart is hurting, you know this stuff really affects me Em. And I see the warnings on this fic. You promised it would be a happy ending...you promised!

Outside of that, I loved how they all told each other I love you. That was a nice moment. I love Hermione going a little nutty there in the beginning and her thoughts about coming back for Remus and Tonks. I hope she can, but it's not looking good, is it?

    But you promised, Em...

Seriously, I'm still loving it, loving the glimpses into their quiet moments, their struggle to stay human and appreciate the small moments they share amidst all of the death and destruction, but it's killing me where this is going...I need to know, like now, I'm on edge! Thanks for that : ) But really, Em...Please update ASAP!

Well, can't say I wasn't expecting that, but it still is horrible to think on what awaits them now.

And I was pretty sure that Remus and Tonks were going to be dead when they got there, but once they had actually arrived and had to walk by their remains--well, I had to stop reading for a while the picture was so gruesome and tragic. I liked Hermione's reaction when Harry tried to make light of her declaration of love; that was so true to the moment, as was Harry's change of tune.

Nice job with the sex scene, Ron could really use that TLC. Now, if he can only figure out a way to get them safe again. Why am I having a bad feeling about Ron like I did when everyone was speculating who was going to die in DH?

Damn Emily! You have my heart breaking and my blood pressure up. This chapter was a roller coaster to read. I cannot believe what they found once they got there. I kinda thought it wasn't going to be good, but damn, that was something straight out of a Stephen King book. WTF??? Poor Tonks and Remus. But who did it?? And I'm wondering why they did them like that...it was so violent. But as sad as that was, I was so relieved once the trio got inside and found everything they needed to get back on their feet. Its all so horrifying that they're so used to tragedy that they can just switch into survival mode like that. The humor was both much needed and somewhat unsettling, because of the timing and what is going on around them. But I imagine they need humor just like they need food and the other things they found to keep going. Everything feels a little too tenuous. Ron felt very real in the shower and in the sex scene. I'm glad you used his POV for this scene. His thoughts and reaction to Hermione's tears was really authentic for anyone going through what they went through, but I really loved his fatigue and surrender in the shower and during the love scene. Harry and Hermione sure know him well. That sex scene was very satisfying...Go Harry for putting him through the mattress, and to Hermione for deep throating. Thanks for that, mate : ) I was laugh at his question to Harry at the end, especially considering what he was thinking of asking him. This chapter was so bittersweet and it has such a sense of foreboding....I's scared. You're doing a wonderful job of appealing to all of my kinks, sexual and non. How do you do that and keep it so brief? You're brilliant man. Wonderful update, post again soon! : )

Oh noes! What does this mean...I didn't even know Thestrals could die! They're supposed to be only visible to those who've seen death correct....and now they're dead? This does not bode well. I'm guessing Remus and Tonks aren't there? I hope they aren't dead too...although from how the war has been going, it wouldn't be a surprise. I love how quick thinking Hermione was in getting them out of the way and that Ron rushed without thinking to save her. Poor thing. His wound sounds bad, and they can't use magic. Dammit. I love the protest and futile order he gave only to have Harry and Hermione completely ignore him. hehe. I's scared. Update soon, you've got me on edge here!

Aah! I knew it. I knew they'd be fucked. I was half expecting that skeletal body burning on the ground to be Remus or something. Nice touch with the Thestrals, though, I like the imagery.

Poor Ron. Just, poor everybody. I love Harry's unflagging, unflappable, unswervable devotion to his two other parts no matter what.

I'm really terrified for them, though, with whatever happens next.

OMG. I'm going to be an emotional wreck by the time this is done. LOL. What are you doing to me? Avalanche? Shit!! I loved how you're focusing on each one of their points of view in different chapters, it gives this fic a intimate insightfulness that's usually lacking from many trio fics. We get to see how they are all processing what they've gone through, what they're going through. Hermione is SO wonderfully stoic and resilient, yet you're showing us that it's a fragile stoicism that she's just barely hanging onto. My heart breaks that she's looking forward to a breakdown at St. Mungo's. lol. I don't really blame her, and I HOPE she gets to have that, she and Harry and Ron deserve a break. They are so close. And now this...shit. I loved the light touches of Ron's teasing Harry and their banter back and forth. Beautiful song lyrics and what a nice moment for them. Its nice you're showing the small things they're doing to stay sane. I hope she never has to make that choice, but I hope nothing horrible has to happen for that choice never to be made. I have no idea where you're going with this, and it's killing me and I love that. lol. Gah..MORE please. :)

Duuuude, you know if they're singing to one of the saddest songs in the Beatles catalogue this will surely end in tragedy :(

I really love the banter between them, so effortless and familiar, but carrying an undercurrent of how much they need each other in the words. I love how Hermione is making herself keep it together until they can just get to their destination before she's ready to let her terror wash over her, keeping herself together for the boys. It's wonderful to see how much she really admires them, too, we only tend to see the other side in so many fics; the boys always gushing at her brilliance. But I believe that Hermione recognizes how strong the two of them are in their own ways and how fundamental their strengths are to the trio's relationship.

Lol, but I flashed on The Lord of the Rings when the trio came up to the mountains. Glad they weren't to treacherous and they could make it over the terrain fairly quickly. Hope they're close to the end of their journey, but those tags have me nervous!

Chapter 3 was so scary, but loved the argument at the other side. Yes, Harry saving Hermione over their pack is completely and totally Harry, and gloriously so. I feel so bad for this war-trodden Ron, but I understand it. This is always exactly how I picture Ron would deal with the constant wearing down of combat and loss. He's resilient, that's for sure, but at what price? And Hermione trying to be rational in the face of her fears rings so accurate.

I don't think Harry will ever learn this lesson, though, that the mission is more important than his loves. That's just not possible and I'd never want to see the day. That would be when the other side truly won.

Love it!! I like that she doesn't have to choose between two sexy men. If only life were really like that...*sigh*. I like how hard core Ron has become but I hape he has still kept some of his Ron-ness. I'm sad about the people that are dead, but it makes it seem like real war. I really enjoy reading this and I hope more action and hot steamy Trio sex ensues ;)

I am absolutely LOVING your story. In my opinion there are not enought trio fics out there. This one is very different to the others I have seen the situation that they are in, the people they have lost, ect. Its very clear that they are all nearly mad with grief and fear but are loyal to the task they have to accomplish. The state that they find themselves is beautiful and tragic and it is sad to see glimpses of the people they were long ago. That being said there also seems to be a hope that they all share. I can't wait for more. Well done!!!!

What an incredibly intense chapter! I felt like I was watching a movie or something. The whole journey over the bridge had me looking away, and jumping up and down. Especially because of the warnings on this fic, I'm just so scared something is gonna go down and I don't know when. I love that! lol. I was surprised that Harry did what he did, but he made such a poignant statement about why he did that its hard to argue with that sort of logic. That's the whole point of what they're doing, isn't it. I love that he gets that, and how he and Ron reconciled...that was beautiful. LOL@ Hermione being the one to tell them to tuck away their emotions and keep focused. I love the gender bend here on stereotypes and how you're really sticking to who they are. I am worried about them not having a tent now...the fire will be even more crucial, if they can even start one. I have a bad feeling, but I can't stop reading, you've made it too good, I have to know what happens next...and of course, because you haven't shown me the next chapter, I'll be here waiting on pins and needles for the next bit tomorrow night. Excellent and gripping update Em.
