Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately, I came across this story after it had been finished. Unfortunately, in that I wasn't sure it would have been right for me to comment chapter by chapter, and fortunately in that I got to see its progression as a whole. It struck me as different from any of the others, as it allowed the character to actually achieve more canon then any other story. They did not melt into oblivion as a writer wrote what he or in this case, she, wanted to happen. It was a nice change of pace, while at the same time still achieving the alternate reality. Your words allowed me to fully "see" the story, as it played out in my head like a film reel. Very well done. This does not fully comprehend the joy I found in reading your work, but it might possibly come close. I hope to see more from you in the future, and look forward to it. May the rest of your year(s) be bright, and may you also find solace in the times of rain.

(oh the joys of autism. What I see and or feel in my head is disconnected from my fingers. But then, a pensieve would just make things boring, yes? *shrugs*)

54-The End- Really love this story. You allowed your characters to stay true to themselves AND appreciate the differences in their spouses. So good. Thanks for sharing. p

Why now that Lucius loves Hermione and Hermione is making an effort, is Narcissa leery of her? It answers my question of why she was not right in there being supportive and offering "motherly" advice with Hermione's pregnancy. There was another time that Snape could have shared a positive between the two Malfoys, but did not. Seems he is more worried about himself (and being found out) than Lucius. Slytherin, I suppose. Excellent characters that suck you into the story. p

(Overdue Reconing)-I was rereading your story. Still excellent, but this whole part still ticks me off, especially knowing what happens with it. It rankles that no one else sees their part in her "defending" her behavior, which is truly what she was doing. The others had no business sticking their nose in and if they had left it between Lucius and her, I am not so sure Hermione would have involved them. Instead, the youngest, most inexperienced in life takes all of the blame (because that is what she always does) and the "cultured adults" let her without looking at themselves at all. At least now I know what parts to skip (the apologies) so that I can avoid the irritating parts.

I'm glad I finished it. I knew that I would love it because I so enjoy your style of writing. Being the "sis" that I am, the epilog was probably my favorite chapter, which is saying something because I really enjoyed many of them once LM and HM started becoming less adversarial. Very unusual and original story line. Thanks for sharing. p

Great chapter (49)! Harry coming into the mix is perfect on many levels. I'm glad to see that you made him clever and knowing his job AND recognized for his abilities by those who thought him unable to rise to the occasion. Also, could be good for LM to see that hair pulling, nagging, etc. are habits that she used on those she loved and truly cared about as she did Harry...could be good for him to know that he was counted in that group.
I was confused about the clerk in the parchment store. In the earlier chapter, she was said to be the niece of one of the former teachers at Hogwarts who had been sent by her parents to run the store. Clue?
Why was Narcissa still suspect of Hermione (you said that is why she did not go and visit with her)? Was it because she felt that she had said too much to Hermione about Snape or was it because she told Draco about Hermione's private life and did not want to face up to it. It seems to me that she would be more trustful of Hermione after HM kept her info to herself, defended her each time while they were out shopping AND apologized to her. Not what I had expected after they talked about how gentle, kind, etc. she is. Although it is possible that her being locked away may have made her more uncomfortable with hearing about HM's freedoms?
Reading on now. I am so glad this story is finished and I don't have to wait to find out the answers. p
