Yes, you gave us a lot to think about, but I am really glad you gave them a bit more to think about, too. I know it will be a long while before they can actually talk to one another, but the fact that they each feel something other than abject horror in her case and befuddled anger in his case is a huge leap forward. Plus, he DID see that Narcissa made Hermione uncomfortable. Yeah for him!! Looking forward to some water play. ;-) Thanks! HG4eva

    Lurkers, hmm?

Interesting dynamics between the characters here. I must admit I find the girls' interactions a bit less believable than I'd like to, but hopefully you'll give us more background on Cissa in the subsequent chapters.

Hermione's quandary is starting to annoy me, though... She's supposed to be smart, isn't it time she settled on a particular strategy instead of flailing about like a Confunded Hufflepuff firstie? Just a thought.

Keep posting and I just might stop lurking... ;)

Couldn't Hermione have put a spice in Severus's food that she knew he was allergic to and he could have had a really bad reaction? I just don't understand why she was so damned nice to the man who put her in this position to begin with. He was only thinking of Lucius and of what he himself could get out of it. He never once considered Hermione's feelings. And then Narcissa brings up how Severus then found Hermione for Lucius like it was perfectly alright to force her into this. I just wish Hermione would fight more or negotiate some terms for herself if they want her to cooperate with their plan. And speaking of the plan, if it ends up that it's only the Voldie supporter Purebloods who are suffering, why bother doing anything? You know I'm into this fic even though it makes me scream and I know I'm on the other side of the fence from most of your reviewers. Every time I see an update I think should I read it now? Do I want to be riled up right now or wait?

Hermione has always held her own in the baiting department with those Slytherins. I have no fears for her there. Although, I think she's put Narcissa on alert and is blissfully unaware of treading on thin ice where Narcissa's son is concerned. Then, she turns around and gives Hermione a glimpse into her role as Lucius' wife. Hmmmmm ... very fascinating interplay. The best conversations happen in the ladies', don't they!

I'll bet galleons that Hermione never thought of anything of Lucius' as being fragile. She's going to have trouble processing that!

And Snape puts Lucius in his place. Anyone who snubs her, snubs you!

And, now that Hermione has pegged Lucius' tell, she has one up on Narcissa mentally. Hopefully, that will give her a little ego boost. She needs it to even make it into the ballpark with Lucius' ego.

I'm surprised Hermione didn't fall off the sofa with Lucius' revelation about a happy marriage!

And a delightful way to end the evening.

    Great work, as per usual!

ch 18 - Thanks for answering all our comments! I always gain insight into what and why you're having the characters do. I hope Cissa's words to Hermione sink in deep, and that Hermione finally tells Lucius what she thinks. All spank and no sex makes Hermione a very grouchy bride! I'm positive Lucius would respond to that. :=) Thanks for the new chapter!

Yahoo lets you colour and put patterns on your emails? Wow! That's very cool, Gmail will have to get on that.

    Lucius... tight pants... mmmm...

It looks like the girl talk has helped :) I'm so glad.

Oooh! A shared bath, I like those!

Chapter Eighteen: I can write myself into the story then. While Hermione and Narcissa were in the lavatory, I was busy doing other things in the drawing room. I actually updated promises two weeks ago (not sure if you saw it). Oh Promises

Love it! Poor Lucius was disappointed that Hermione didn't wear the jewelry he had gotten her. But she didn't tell him that she was jealous of Narcissa. Looking forward to see what happens in the next chapter!

Lovely chapter, I was giggling while reading it. I look forward to more
If i could randomly dress Snape in anything I would have to say a Toga, jungle boy attire or something as amusing and not commonly used.
