Rec'ed this story recently and had to re-read it. The ending remains brilliant and beautiful and beyond devastating. Thought that should be said again.

OOOhhh, I like dark stories. And this didn't disappoint. The ending was awesome.

I'm always happy when I see people go to difficult places with their writing.

    Whoa.

That was hard to read, but I couldn't stop. And the ending was a total mindflip.

    Well done.

This was an amazing story. Not only was it well written, but it as so different from other non-cons you find here where Hermione has orgasm after orgasm. (Not that there's anything wrong with that in fic because I'm huge fan of dub-con.) However, there were so many powerful moments in this story. Yes, Hermine did get her pleasure, but the ecstasy she experienced was "instant and unsatistying."

And that final scene; dialogue only. Very haunting. We as readers now, but Draco, not only being with her, but carrying on the charade that he has her forgiveness...wow. And they're friends with Blaise still? One wonders what must go through his mind.

I'm off to read some of your other stories. :)

Woah. Well that was disturbing. I liked it but not in the way I was hoping I would, haha. It was more interesting than anything else. I read it because I just finished... crap I forget the title. The triad thing with Herm/D/L, you know? Anyway, I read this because I absolutely love your writing style. I'm very impressed with the tone of your stories. You get inside the characters heads and really know what they're thinking about and why.

I hate to review two stories in the same review, but my absolute favourite line was in the other story, when Hermione decides to keep the tv. I don't know what it was, but something about that line made me burst out laughing.

I'm most likely off to read more of you stories now :D

So, here's the thing. I haven't been able to stop thinking about this story since I read it last week. The simple exchange where an unknowing Hermione innocently tells Draco that what he did to her in school doesn't matter because she either ignored it, or forgot about it makes Draco's response, "I--yeah," so incredibly powerful and fraught with meaning. Two, freakin', simple, words. Two simple words that leave you devastated by their impact. Because the reader knows that Draco's hesitation is over the fact that she only forgot what he did to her because he forced her to forget. And, while he may suffer some pangs of guilt over his unforgivable actions, and while he realizes he has done something that requires him to beg for forgiveness, he lacks the moral courage to come clean about it, either out of the selfish desire not to lose Hermione, not to "rock the boat" as it were, or (less likely, given everything else in the story) out of a sincere desire not to upset or hurt Hermione, who would only be hurt and emotionally devastated if he gave her the memory back. But, you've done nothing in the story to make me think his motives could be so pure. And, the fact that Hermione is, all unwittingly, placing herself in the hands of such a monster (making the title of the story even more apt) is part of the very powerful impact you have created.

Finally, I want to acknowledge that I came here with the intent of leaving a second review because of my inability to stop thinking of the story, but then read a very negative review which may appear right before this one. I don't normally take issue with other people's reviews, but in this case, I think the reviewer entirely missed the point of the story and entirely misconstrued the dynamic of the story. This is hardly a cliche Hermione-falls-for-her-rapist fic in which Hermione is raped by Draco but falls in love with him anyway because ohmigoshsexsogood! or some other unbelievable contrivance. Yes, one can infer from her morning-after masturbation fantasy mutating into an image of Draco, that even when he was abusing her so horrifically she felt some stirring of attraction. Or, one can see it as her subconscious, in which some trace of the memory may remain (canon isn't clear on the issue, AFAIK) trying to warn her that she has come to know Draco carnally. Hermione has no idea she was ever raped, let alone that Draco ever touched her in a non-consensual manner. From what you've written, a reader can surmise that Draco, who chillingly told Hermione, as soon as he was done abusing her, that she had been "sweet," later, and entirely cold-bloodedly, went after her because he wanted more of that perceived sweetness for himself. A reader can imagine that while he may care for her, he may not love her as Hermione understands love to be. Their entire relationship is built on a foundation of lies, leaving Hermione still a victim of Draco's. Which, is the final, absolutely brilliant and chilling twist to the tale.

After reading the story, I went back and started looking at your other work. You write a lot of pairings I don't normally read, but I am so impressed by this story, that I'm going to try them when I get out from under some of my other obligations and have some free time to read more fic.

    Again, very, very well done.

The first part is good... but the second?... this only have sense if is to Hermione to know the things Draco did, and to show Hermione killing Draco and Blaise for it... as is now, is like saying the raping is not important, or the rapist can be good persons... and show Hermione as a total stupid... linking the man who raped her?... nauseating.

as a fic. I don't like it. When a character make evil things, I like him to be punished, not rewarded. Hermione killing the rapists would do of this, a good fic, Hermione loving the rapist is not a good ending for me.
