Reviews for Deserving (Final Chapter)

First off, this review is not because of the potion that Harry gave Snape, although that is just one more in the long line of things that have gotten me to this point. At the end of an earlier chapter, you wrote that you were trying to be faithful to JKR's story(in the context of getting Ron and Hermione's kids birth order wrong). Although it's nice to see attention to that kind of detail in a story, I'd much prefer those kind of errors over a story that portrays someone as far out of character as this Harry is, as to be wholly unrecognizable.
I think I get where you were going when you set off to write this story - Harry was removed from a loving home and raised in a home that set him a bad example and made him feel unloved. Snape has similar issues, so two dysfunctional men like this could end up with issues when they come together in a relationship. I could even buy Harry having some residual feelings of vengeance toward Snape, but not to the degree that you have painted him, and certainly not for the length of time that has passed in this story. I just don't understand why you would want to write a Harry that is so completely unsympathetic, unlikeable, and unworthy of the forgiveness he has been granted by some of the people around him. The Harry of Jo's books is, above all, a kind person who spends his life trying to do the right thing. This Harry is nothing of the sort - while he has eventually pulled his head out of his own ass when it comes to the injustices around him(something Harry has ALWAYS thrown himself into), he is still completely self-involved, immature, and frankly quite stupid. I don't get why you would want to paint Harry in this light. Him feeling remorse over almost killing Snape as he has come close to here, will never make up for his belief that it is a just punishment to hurt his husband during conception, or threaten his children's lives during the birthing process. Where is his own self awareness, the greatest strength of love that is supposed to be his hallmark, the kid who was brave enough to not only defeat Voldemort but able to admit to himself that his father had been a bullying git in his tormenting of Snape in the memory he saw in the Pensieve? Your Harry is going to have to do a lot more than just start treating Snape a little more kindly, to make up for what a complete and utter jerk he has been throughout the story, and I'm not sure you're going to be able to get there, given the way you continue to write him.

Damn I was ready with my torch. Oh well will have to put it away.

This was one incredible chapter, I hated Harry so much I just want to smack him. How could he give that potion to Severus? Why does he want to change the person Severus is? Doesn't he love him of at least like him?

Omg and you left us in a cliff again, why? Oh well will have to wait for the next do not stop you are doing great.
I know you said that you re-wrote, but it looks good.

Okay, I am really getting to the point where I want to stick my foot up Harry's ass. He is SO stubborn! He obviously thought that he knew more about potions than a Potions Master even though he barely passed the class. He may not beat Severus, but there are many, MANY forms of abuse and being abused as a young boy< Harry should know that. And what does he think? He thinks he knew Dumbledore better than people like Minerva, who had been working with Albus for longer than Harry had been alive? He has no IDEA what the old man was thinking when he ordered Severus to kill him.

    Harry is a effing idiot!
